Stephanie S.

Stephanie has been teaching for 30 years. She has a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University and is qualified to teach secondary school English, Visual Art and Drama, as well as all Primary subjects. She is also a qualified Guidance counsellor, and has her level 1 Principals’ Qualification. Stephanie has taught in Toronto, South America and England. She is very experienced working with children and young adults with a wide range of barriers to learning, including ASD, ADHD, specific learning difficulties, ESL, depression and anxiety.

Stephanie believes that every child has the potential for deep and meaningful learning. As a tutor, she tailors her lessons to her students’ interests, creating engaging lessons that help them overcome their academic challenges while meeting curriculum expectations. With her extensive teaching experience, she provides clear guidance on school assignments, helping students understand complex material and develop strong organizational and communication skills. Rebecca H. is currently completing the Ontario Certified Teacher Program in the Master of Teaching Program (Primary/Junior Division) at OISE, University of Toronto. She also holds a Master of Education in Administration and Leadership from Brock University.
With over five years of experience teaching and working in Ontario’s public and private elementary and high schools, such as TDSB, YCDSB and TCDSB, Rebecca is committed to creating inclusive classrooms where every student feels valued and supported. She specializes in Culturally Responsive Pedagogy, ensuring her teaching reflects and respects the diverse cultural backgrounds of her students. Rita J.

Rita has a strong academic background and extensive experience in education. With a Bachelor’s degree in Life Science and over five years of experience in tutoring, Rita has a passion for empowering students to reach their academic potential.

Jacqueline B.

Jacqueline B. is an Ontario Certified Teacher with over 10 years of experience in education, having worked with students ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 8. She currently teaches in a Kindergarten classroom within the York Region District School Board. Jacquie’s teaching and tutoring are guided by the Ontario Elementary School curriculum expectations, ensuring that each lesson is aligned with the province’s educational standards.

Angeliki has a DEC from Dawson College in Child Studies. She is currently getting her Bachelor’s degree in Kindergarten/Elementary Education from McGill University. Passionate about her love of teaching, she sought out tutoring to offer help and guidance. YURI D. A.

Yuri is a teacher candidate in the Master of Arts Child Study and Education program at the University of Toronto, with an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Studies from Toronto Metropolitan University. She has extensive experience working with young learners as a registered early childhood educator, primarily working with preschool and kindergarten age groups. During her practicums, she gained valuable experience in both TDSB schools and the Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study, where she worked with diverse groups of students in the primary and junior grades and supported various classroom activities, including UFLI instruction and the development of Individual Education Plan (IEP). Her educational philosophy is rooted in the belief that every child is unique, curious, and capable, and she strives to create inclusive and accessible learning environments that build on each child’s strengths. Outside of teaching, Yuri enjoys embroidering and spending time with her two dogs, Bello, a chihuahua, and Bella, a golden retriever.

MELISSA T.

Melissa is an Ontario Certified Teacher with qualifications in the Primary-Junior division and experience working with high school students. She completed her undergraduate degree at York University and earned her Bachelor of Education at Lakehead University.

Melissa has worked extensively with students across different age groups, including elementary and secondary school, fostering their learning and helping them achieve academic success. She has experience conducting EQAO assessments, writing report cards, and supporting students’ literacy and numeracy development.

With a passion for education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment, Melissa believes in building strong relationships with her students to meet their individual needs. She takes pride in encouraging her students to develop confidence and a love for learning.

Mia F.

Mia has a Bachelor of Education degree from McGill University.

She has worked for one year as a teacher at St. George’s Elementary School and is currently in her second year of teaching at Solomon Schechter Academy.

Her specialties include English and math for students at the elementary level. In addition, she has worked as a student teacher at Lower Canada College and Akiva where she supported the teacher’s objectives, planned, prepared and implemented original lessons and activities.

Mia believes that there is not a “one size fits all” approach when it comes to teaching would like her students to feel welcome and safe from judgment. She understands the need for differentiation and always tries to integrate multiple learning styles and techniques in her teaching.

ELECTRA W.

Electra is currently pursuing a Master’s of Child Study and Education at the University of Toronto. She has completed a Bachelor’s of Early Childhood Studies with a minor in English accredited by Toronto Metropolitan University. Through her Master’s studies, Electra has completed a teaching practicum in a kindergarten classroom and is currently completing her second practicum in a grade four classroom. In her undergraduate studies, Electra completed placement experiences in a grade 1/2 classroom, a kindergarten classroom, and an EarlyON Child and Family Centre. Electra has a plethora of diverse employment experiences with respect to teaching and learning. Electra has hired, trained, and managed instructors for Engineering Outreach programs (STEM-based additional programming). Through this employment, Electra reviewed curriculum outlines, activity sheets, and material requests for grades 3 to 8. Electra has experience as a Senior Program Instructor for Engineering Outreach programs, where she created, developed, and delivered STEM programming to students from grades 1 to 12. Moreover, Electra has experience as an Emergency Supply Teacher, where she covered the duties and responsibilities of absent teachers ranging from kindergarten to grade 12. Electra has extended knowledge of curriculum, pedagogy, and best practices. She is culturally responsive and always incorporates an equity lens into her practice. Electra is highly experienced with children with exceptionalities and always implements strength-based approaches that consider the whole child.

Marisa T.

Marisa is a dedicated tutor and accomplished student currently pursuing a double major in Political Science and Economics at McGill University.
