Mila M.

Mila graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science. She is currently completing her Master of Arts in Child Study and Education. Mila has a range of previous teaching experiences, including math, French, science, swimming and chess. She can best support students through helping them work on their critical thinking skills, communication, and application in their work. During her free time, Mila enjoys reading, boxing and spending quality time with her family.

FRANCES R.

Frances is an enthusiastic OCT Primary/Junior teacher who has been tutoring students since 2013. She draws from her tutoring experience to tailor academic support to individual student needs. Inspired by a passion for fostering curiosity and lifelong learning, she prioritizes creating a supportive environment where all students feel valued and empowered to succeed.

Motivated by her work in a special education school, Frances pursued additional qualifications in Special Education to better meet the diverse needs of her students. She employs a patient and adaptive teaching approach to ensure every student thrives.

 

ALISON F.

Alison is a BC Certified Teacher with a passion for education and child development. She earned her Bachelor of Education from Simon Fraser University in 2019, following her undergraduate degree in psychology, with a minor in Learning and Developmental Disabilities. Currently, she teaches upper primary with the North Vancouver School District, having worked with students ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 7. Alison has education and experience in literacy assessment, instruction, and intervention.
Since her youth, Alison has thrived in roles mentoring children and youth. Her lifelong aspiration to become a teacher led her to facilitate after-school programs during high school and provide private tutoring in math, English, social studies, and science for Grades 8 to 10.
Alison values the unique learning styles of each child. By leveraging their strengths and interests, she tailors instruction to help students achieve their educational objectives. Alison believes in an active learning approach, emphasizing that students must feel regulated and connected for optimal learning experiences. She integrates a universal design for learning strategy into her tutoring sessions, empowering children to take ownership of their educational journey.
Beyond teaching, Alison enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, and exploring various coffee shops. Her commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment reflects her dedication to educational excellence.

 

Danica J.

Danica studied Bachelor’s in Business Administration, majoring in finance, and is currently completing her diploma in International Business. She has over a decade of experience working with children by being a volunteer teacher within her local community since she was in high school. Presently, she serves as a peer tutor at Centennial College, specializing in math courses within the Business department, and as a part-time instructor at an after-school learning center, tutoring children from grades one to eight.

Beyond her academic endeavors, Danica finds joy in painting pet portraits and scenic landscapes, staying active with badminton, and embracing the challenge of learning new languages.

Her patient and understanding nature, combined with her passion for education, is evident in her teaching approach. She is committed to empowering students and instilling a love for lifelong learning.

AIDYN K.

Aidyn, currently entering her 5th year at Brock University, is pursuing concurrent degrees in Education and Integrated Studies, specializing in French. Aidyn’s academic journey is marked by a strong foundation in French Immersion education.

Her practical experience in education includes serving as a Tutor at the Brock University Learning Lab, where Aidyn developed lesson plans to enhance literacy. As a Student Peer at the same university, she facilitated access to digital texts for students with special needs with a commitment to educational equity. Aidyn is actively pursuing professional development, attending seminars and classes in areas like trauma-informed education, inclusive teaching practices, and language acquisition strategies, to enrich her teaching credentials and better serve her students.

Through her tutoring efforts, Aidyn aspires to make a lasting impact on the educational journey of those she teaches, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to succeed!

 

ALEXANDRA S.

Alexandra is an OCT teacher with experience teaching grades 4 through 12, as well as post-secondary. She is a passionate educator who enjoys working with students of all ages and helping them develop confidence as learners.

She received her Master of Arts in French Literature from the University of Toronto and her Bachelor of Education from Brock University.

In her free time, Alexandra enjoys different hobbies like pottery, hiking and knitting. Her greatest joy is camping in the backcountry.

 

ANASTASIA V.

Anastasia holds a Honours Bachelor of Arts, in Psychology, and is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Education at York University. Her interest in Psychology was developmental studies, specifically in child development. She has always felt her passion was to be a teacher from a young age, forcing her siblings to play “teacher”. Her goal is to build a strong, hands-on academic experience in the Primary/Junior division. When not focusing on her studies or work, you can find Anastasia on the beach, somewhere abroad, or in the gym! She is dedicated in being part of evolving education, ensuring all students reach their fullest potential! Fun fact, Anastasia is bilingual in French.

 

LAURA B.

Laura recently graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts in French. She is now in the process of becoming an Ontario Certified Junior/Intermediate Teacher through OISE’s (Ontario Institute for Studies in Education) Master of Teaching program at the University of Toronto. Laura discovered her fondness for teaching when she was asked to volunteer at a summer camp for English Language Learners when she was only in high school. Ever since, she has dedicated her professional career to teaching language through its many facets, whether it be English, French, or linguistic foundations in general. Through her numerous experiences teaching language to children ranging anywhere from 6 to 18 years old, Laura has fostered learning environments where her students are encouraged to be themselves and make mistakes. She is cognizant of the vulnerability that comes with tutoring, and she is confident in her ability to create a space that allows children to flourish. Aside from her academic and professional endeavours, Laura enjoys reading novels and trying all sorts of coffees and teas.

 

MOLLY P.

Molly is an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) currently teaching at an independent IB school in Toronto. She graduated from Queen’s University’s Concurrent Education program with qualifications in the Primary/Junior Division. Additionally, she has experience working with children and youth in both daycare and outdoor education settings. She has even worked as an au pair in the Netherlands!

As an educator, she is passionate about inquiry-based learning, as well as applying a culturally responsive approach to her teaching. Molly’s goal is to create meaningful learning experiences by centering her students’ voice, choice, and ownership as pillars of their learning. As a lifelong learner, Molly is currently focused on completing a course by the International Dyslexia Association, so that she can help improve her students’ phonics skills and further develop their love of reading.

Molly loves getting outside and exploring nature. On the weekends she loves to go on long walks while listening to a good podcast! She is also quite fond of her foster kitty Fred, who is always there to give a great cuddle. As an avid reader, Molly welcomes any and all book recommendations sent her way!

 

Camilia D.

Camilia is a professional and passionate tutor with over 6 years of experience teaching and tutoring. She has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in biology, and is pursing her Doctoral degree in Naturopathic Medicine. Camilia is a certified ESL instructor, and has worked with students at a variety of grade and ability levels. Camilia loves teaching, learning, art, music, cooking and travelling. On her free time she takes photographs and runs outside 🙂
