Anders H.
Anders is a Primary, Junior and Intermediate Ontario Certified Teacher working during the school year with the Simcoe County District School Board with over 20 years experience. He graduated from Lakehed University with an Bachelor of Natural Science degree and Bachelors of Education. Anders has continued his professional development in teaching by taking additional qualifications courses in becoming a Specialist in both Special Education and Physical Education. Recently, Anders completed the Principals Qualification Program with the Ontario Principals Council.
Anders has experience teaching at the Junior and Intermediate divisions in all subjects- Mathematics, Science, Geography, History, English, Social Studies . He also has extensive experience working with students that have Individual Education Plans to support their learning styles. Anders taught in an Intermediate Learning Center and gained valuable experience learning best practices in instructing students with a variety of different learning styles. He also spent time teaching in the Northwest Territories community of Whati working with First Nation students and immersing himself in the Tlicho culture to understand pedagogy with northern students.
Anders has learned over the past 20 years of teaching that in order for students to fully engage in your program he must build positive rapport with the student. He will create a relationship built on student interests and use those interests to help support the student their their learning journey. Creating that foundation of trust is the basis of Anders’ instructional practices in the classroom and will continue to that with Prep Academy Tutors.
When not in the classroom, you can either find Anders on a lake fishing or in a hockey arena! Anders has a passion for sports and was involved in hockey professionally for many years as an official and continues to do that today as both a Junior Hockey coach and referee. He is married to another teacher for 21 years and has two children. His daughter attends Queens University and is a member of the Womens Basketball Team and his son is currently in Grade 12 and his looking to pursuing a football scholarship at the post-secondary level. Anders is so excited to be a part of the Prep Academy team and looks forward to helping support students in their educational journey.

Kate T.
Kate is qualified in Primary, Junior, Intermediate and Senior divisions. Kate has an undergraduate degree from Trent University (2018) in English Literature, with emphasis in Education and Linguistics. She has recently completed ABQ’s in Intermediate Physical Education and Senior FNMI Studies. Kate completed Special Education Part 1 after graduating from her Bachelor of Education at Nipissing University in 2021. Kate understands the importance of communication with guardians throughout the year to ensure the well-being and success of their child. She is sensitive to the learning and social needs of students and strives to ensure each student feels included within the classroom.
INGRID L.
Ingrid was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico. She graduated from ESNECA College with a Masters Degree in Clinic Psychopedagogy and from The University of Monterrey with a Bachelors Degree in Psychopedagogy. She recently moved to Vancouver and she is currently studying an ECE Diploma. Her experience in teaching grades 1 to 6 and specialization in inclusion of ASD and learning difficulties in the classroom have strengthened her education background.
Ingrid is a dedicated and passioned teacher who believes that children should be cherished in a safe, loving, and comfortable learning environment. Her beliefs are inspiring students to grow as passionate learners by expanding the traditional subjects and creating out of the curriculum meaningful experiences and opportunities to act with integrity and empathy and to become impactful global thinkers.
Belonging to a caring family, has shaped her into a more compassionate, kind and understanding person. It has instilled in her a strong sense of responsibility and a desire to reciprocate the care and love received from her family to the people around her.
In her spare time, she enjoys long walks in the outdoors, connecting with nature, coffee with friends and reading a good book.
Raquel R.
Raquel is an Ontario Certified teacher qualified in the primary/junior division. She has an honours undergraduate degree in children, childhood, and youth studies, as well as a bachelor of education from York University. She has worked with children in various settings, such as after-school programs, tutoring, co-op, placement, and now as a teacher. She has supported the improvement of students in writing, reading, and math during one-on-one sessions through tutoring. She has a passion for travelling and often makes plans to adventure out to different places to explore and immerse herself in the cultures. She fluently speaks Portuguese. She also loves being creative, and in her spare time, she likes to embroider, crochet, and paint. As a mentor, she looks to gain more knowledge and experience working with students of various learning capabilities and to inspire students to believe they can succeed
Samantha Q.
Samantha Q. is a dedicated educator. She holds a degree in Education and Child Development. Samantha has spent many years working with kids, from infants to teenagers, in various settings, including childcare, swimming lessons, and youth programs on a cruise ship.
Over the last year, Samantha taught in Stockholm, Sweden science and technology to 4th to 6th graders, showing her knack for making learning fun. Currently, she’s part of an independent school, where she continues to inspire young minds.
In her free time, Samantha enjoys playing ice hockey and recently joined a volleyball team. She’s passionate about helping children achieve their best. Her goal is to provide the support and encouragement they need to succeed.
RILEY L.
Riley is working toward her degree Elementary Education at Mount Royal University and minoring in Linguistics. Although her primary focus is at the elementary level, she has experience working one on one one and in small groups to support junior high math students. Riley grew up competitively Irish Dancing in Calgary and for the past four years has been coaching beginner dancers. Riley’s passion for education stemmed from helping a classmate with autism. She saw the difference she was able to make for that student, and since then became passionate about making a difference in all children’s lives.
Abigail M.
Abigail has a passion for education and has been a tutor for two years now, specifically teaching French, English, and Math. She is a University of Toronto graduate with a Bachelor of Arts (with Distinction) and is now pursuing her Masters of Teaching (Junior/Intermediate) at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, also at the University of Toronto. In addition to tutoring, Abigail has many other teaching experiences. She has worked as an Emergency Supply Teacher, a Summer School teaching assistant, and an administrative support with the Upper Grand District School Board. She is also a swim instructor and loves teaching all age groups in and out of the pool. Abigail now lives in Toronto and enjoys running, hiking, camping, and exploring the city.
Laura N.
Laura is a patient and enthusiastic educator who takes pride in helping her students succeed! Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies, and is currently working towards the completion of her OCT designation with Ontario Tech University. Laura has been in the education field for just under 10 years tutoring students, teaching health and physical education in a private school setting, as well as teaching abroad in South Africa. Laura would be a phenomenal fit to help your child achieve their academic goals!
Kayla O.
Kayla received her Honours Bachelors Degree at York University in Sociology, in conjunction with a Bachelor of Education, specializing in Primary/Junior grade levels. Kayla has also completed an Additional Qualification in Special Education Part 1 and has been certified by the Ontario College of Teachers. Kayla has always believed that education is the future, as Malcom X referred to it “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today”. Kayla has over ten years of experience working and coaching students in different age ranges with diverse learning exceptionalities. Kayla loves on-going learning and continues her adventure for learning through embarking on new courses and obtaining different qualifications and certifications. Here are some examples of Kayla’s jobs and volunteer/co-op placement opportunities, student teaching/teacher candidacy, tutoring, mentoring, coaching dance/fitness/gymnastics, taught step by step cooking classes, camp counsellor, taught conflict resolution/problem solving/anti bullying classes.
Kayla is committed to an equitable and inclusive education system for students that provides students with universal designs for learning. Kayla has worked with diverse ranges of curriculum and in various subject areas (cross curricular) and is very knowledgeable on the Ontario Curriculum. Kayla has worked with students with diverse learning needs and specific learning styles. She believes that it is important to focus on designing teaching and learning with attention to various lived experiences, intersectional identities, and uniquely enhancing a students confidence and love for learning. Throughout Kayla’s different teaching related experiences she has ensured that her assistance with students has receive positive results in various subject areas.
