Sarah G.
Sarah graduated from York University, where she completed her Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies with Honours, majoring in English and minoring in Portuguese. She completed her Bachelor of Education, specializing in the Primary/Junior levels. During her Bachelor of Education, she obtained a Tutoring Certification and has since tutored English internationally. Sarah has since furthered her education by obtaining additional qualifications in subjects such as math, and reading, and has become qualified to teach the intermediate levels; meaning she is able to teach from kindergarten to grade 10. Sarah is currently teaching with the Simcoe County District School Board.
ABBEY J.
Abbey is a Teacher Candidate at the University of Toronto with a specialization in Junior/Intermediate English. She holds a Master of Arts degree from the Literatures of Modernity program at Toronto Metropolitan University, and earned her undergraduate degree from McMaster University with a major in English and Cultural Studies. It is through her volunteer work as an ELL tutor, her time as a Teaching Assistant in the English department at TMU, and her experience as a tutor with Paper that Abbey has fostered a love of teaching. Abbey has supported her students in reading comprehension, essay writing, citation practices, and improving grammar and punctuation. Abbey has also completed two practicum placements in the Toronto District School Board, where she has taught Junior/Intermediate Math, Science, English, and Social Studies. Abbey firmly believes that understanding her students is fundamental to effective teaching, and she invests time in building relationships to better cater to their individual needs, fostering growth and learning. In her spare time, Abbey is either sitting down with a good book, working on her next crochet project, or playing with her two orange cats.
LIRA M.
Lira believes in creating an inclusive learning environment for students. Lira has completed her Bachelors of Science in Biology and is currently completing a Master’s degree in Education. Lira can tutor students from grade 4-10 in math, literacy and science.
Vikram P.
Vikram has a vast amount of experience teaching in the Elementary division for several school boards in Ontario and abroad in England. He obtained his Bachelor of Education from the University of Windsor. He currently works for the York Region Distict School Board as a Special Education Resource Teacher.
Vikram has all the main qualities supporting students to reach their peak learning levels. He is extremely patient, knowledgeable, creative and understanding. He has experience supporting students with difficulties and can easily help them gain the knowledge necessary to progress.
Vikram is very personable and passionate about providing a very positive learning experience. On his off time he loves to play and watch soccer and go for hikes with his wife and dog.
JASMINE M.
Jasmine is an Ontario Certified Teacher. Growing up in Mississauga, she went to the University of Guelph where she received her B.A in Psychology with a minor in Marketing. With her lifelong goal of becoming a teacher, she then went to the University of Ottawa to complete her Bachelor of Education. Learning and seeking new knowledge continues to be her passion as she is completing her Master of Education at the University of Ottawa. Jasmine has always taken on leadership and mentoring roles in the jobs she had throughout High School, University, and Post-Grad. Working in various positions such as a ski instructor and a nanny, she has had experience working alongside and developing skills in children of all ages. She is excited to continue working as an Occasional Teacher with the YRDSB this upcoming school year. In her spare time, Jasmine enjoys listening to podcasts, going on hikes, and spending time with friends and family, as well as her cat!
HANNAH G.
Hannah is currently finishing the last year of her Bachelor of Education at Queen’s University, and is expected to obtain OCT certification in July of 2024. Hannah has over 5 years experience teaching both primary/junior and intermediate/senior students. Hannah has taught Math, English, Science, and Social studies to students of all ages and grades. Hannah is passionate about helping all her students succeed and believes every student has the ability to succeed.
Claudia Z
Claudia is a Registered Early Childhood Educator in Ontario where she graduated from Conestoga College in 2018 Kitchener campus. As such, she has 5+ years experience working as an RECE in various classrooms and age groups. Claudia is currently a team lead/ supervisor of a centre in Oakville, and is very excited to be a mentor for the educators within the centre. Additionally, she has studied psychology at the university of Guelph from 2012- 2016 and has received a Yoga and Mindfulness
Amanda C.
Amanda is currently a Special Education teacher for the Toronto District School Board. She is qualified to teach kindergarten to grade ten! She began teaching the year of the pandemic, and began teaching at an elite specialized private school for children with Autism. After completing a year working with students with Autism, she found her way into a mainstream classroom, which did not have her following her truest passion. Now you can find Amanda working within the TDSB in a specialized program working with students with exceptionalities who cannot be within the mainstream classroom. She is currently working with students that have behavioural problems, extreme mental health issues or students with underlying health concerns which cannot be treated within the regular classroom!
NATASHA P.
Natasha Pinto is an OCT-certified educator with 12 years of experience, specializing in primary and junior-level teaching. Her journey began after completing her Bachelors of Education at Niagara University, leading her to gain international teaching experience in the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E). Over five years, Natasha worked with diverse students and collaborated with educators from around the world, gaining invaluable insights into different teaching approaches.
CAITLIN M.
Caitlin has an Honours Bachelor degree and a Master’s of Museum Studies from University of Toronto. She is currently completing her Master’s of Teaching from Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at University of Toronto. Her background is in museum educational programming, and she is also an experienced tutor.
