Hi, my name is Yanlin Shi.
I graduated with my Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manitoba in June 2022. I started to teach Design of Biomechanical Devices and Mechanics of Materials in January 2019. I currently work as an online teacher for teaching math, physics, and science to students of varying ages from elementary-aged to adults. My teaching goal is to make the direction of learning clear to the student and increase students’ motivation and achievement levels.

Hey there!
My name is Casey, I graduated from the University of Winnipeg in 2016 and I am currently in my 7th year teaching professionally. I started my career in Northern Manitoba, eventually settling down in the Southwest, teaching Literacy and English Language Arts. I am positive and energetic, and have taught students from Elementary to Senior High School. I am very passionate about education and always seek meaningful connections and creative ways to engage my students.
A little about me: I grew up in a small town, and I love the outdoors; including fishing, boating and camping. I also love animals, reading, and listening to podcasts.

AQSA N.
I am Aqsa Naseer. I am a certified teacher in Manitoba and have more than 5 years of teaching experience. I have taught the University of Manitoba’s undergraduate students too. I have experience teaching k-8 students Maths. I am innovative in tailoring instructions to meet the needs of students. I am passionate about advancing academic progress and helping students develop critical thinking skills.
JASON K.
Jason has been teaching in the Toronto District School Board for 20 years. During this time he has taught with all grade levels from K- 8 across the system with proven results and success in mental health, math anxiety, organization, science, math and literacy.
Jason has an extensive background in Physical Education and has coached many teams in the TDSB, as well as running countless tournaments in all sports. His favourite players are Auston Matthews and Scotiie Barnes. With the recent shift to a virtual platform and back to in person learning, Jason has discovered, used, taught and explored new resources to let students feel welcome in their classrooms and thrive in the curriculum.
MAGDA L.
Magda has 11 years of teaching experience as an elementary French Immersion teacher. She completed her undergraduate degree, which includes a specialization in French, and her Bachelor of Education degree here in Ontario. Over the course of her career, she has worked with a variety of students, differentiating her instruction based on level, needs and goals.
ANDRE F.
Andre is a certified teacher by the Ontario College of Teachers. He currently teaches grades 4-8 core French in the DPCDSB.
Andre volunteered at his local elementary school during his undergraduate studies to gain experience before heading to teacher’s college. He is trilingual; being proficient in English, Portuguese and French with some experience speaking Spanish.
He holds a teaching degree from York University since 2014 and completed his undergraduate studies at York University in 2012. For the last several years, he has been teaching French in the DPCDSB – grades 4-8. This includes teaching some years teaching Social Studies, Science, Art, Phys Ed, Dance and Music as a Planning Time teacher alongside teaching French. He was also employed as a customer service agent answering phone calls in English and French.
During his studies at York University, A.Ferreira had the chance to complete a practicum at the TCDSB, which allowed him to gain experience teaching in a public-school setting. His experience includes a summer teaching at an international school setting where he taught during the mornings and lead day trips around Toronto during the afternoons.
Andre enjoys weightlifting, cooking, boxing, muay thai, mma and soccer.
Andre motto is thus: Mistakes are often the best teachers. Make plenty!
Maha R.
EN: Maha is a second-year university student majoring in engineering and has completed dec in the science program. She has experience tutoring kids of all ages and is able to cater to the students’ learning styles.
FR: Maha est une étudiante en deuxième année d’université, spécialisée en ingénierie, et a complété un DEC dans le programme scientifique. Elle a de l’expérience en tutorat auprès d’enfants de tous âges et est capable de s’adapter aux styles d’apprentissage des élèves.
MELANIE B.
Melanie’s passion for education stemmed from a very young age. Over the years, she has deepened her skill set as a camp counsellor, a daycare volunteer and a director at Peace by PEACE; a non profit organization that delivers an eleven week conflict resolution curriculum to students across Toronto. A recent graduate, Melanie was hired by the Toronto Catholic District School Board as a French Immersion teacher. Her focus as a teacher has been the primary and junior grades, with most of her teaching experience at the third grade level. These experiences have informed and shaped Melanie’s pedagogical practice and mission to see each of her students reach their utmost potential. When she’s not in the classroom you can find Melanie playing with her bunny, getting active or hanging out with friends.
Darien K.
Darien has been teaching for 5 years. He also has a Psychology degree and is certified by the Mental Health Commission of Canada. He developed a Mindfulness Committee throughout his school’s community to better support mental health initiatives.
Darien has the experience to understand and tailor instruction to the many different learning styles, abilities and backgrounds. He has taught people with various and complex disabilities for 10+ years, is comfortable teaching various levels of English Language Learners and can teach foundational knowledge through Indigenous perspective.
As a teacher his focus is on an well rounded educational plan that consists of physical and mental wellness, cultivating self-worth, morals, values and supporting students’ expressions of identity. He received multiple scholarships based on athletic merit as a member of the University’s Cross Country Running team. He loves to take his dog paddle boarding and hiking. When they are not in the sunniest spots, he’ll likely be found playing Arceus or Zelda on his Nintendo Switch.
Janet D.
Janet is a Certified Teacher, with four years of teaching experience. She has worked in both the private and public sectors. She specializes in a variety of subject areas from MYP IB, to PE, Outdoor Ed, Business, Human Sciences, and Primary School English & Mathematics.
She grew up in Barrie, Ontario, and moved out west in 2015. She has an Undergraduate Degree in Physical and Health Education and a Minor in Business Admin. As well, she’s completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from UBC.
Janet has taught a variety of high school specialized courses outside of her teachables including ESL, Home Economics, Yoga, and Basketball Academy. She also spent a year teaching a grade 4-7 elementary school class, with a special focus on literacy and mathematics in those years.
She is passionate about helping others achieve their goals and got into teaching physical and health education not only because of her love for sports, but because she thoroughly enjoys helping build her students’ confidence to succeed. She prides herself on the connections she’s built with her students and parents over the years.
Janet’s approach fosters an environment where community, global perspectives, and social responsibility become key fundamentals that will prepare her students to be true world citizens. Her goal is that the connections she makes allow others to leave at the end of the day feeling supported, and respected and that their opinions are heard. Since starting her career, she’s made it her mission to make her classroom environment a safe space for all everyone, where they can share experiences, and use their innovative thinking and creativity, to flourish. She loves working amongst the leaders of tomorrow and greatly appreciates all the connections she’s made along the way.
