ERICA C.

Erica is currently completing her Masters of Education at OISE, U of T in the Primary/Junior division and will graduate from the program in June. Erica has had a passion for Special Education since being a One-to-One Support Worker at camp where she was paired with children who had ADHD, Autism, and/or a range of physical disabilities.

Erica’s positive attitude and infectious energy allow her to create engaging, educational lessons for her students. Her background in technology allows her to incorporate digital tools into every lesson, allowing students to learn unique skills for their future. Erica ensures that all her lessons align with the Ontario Curriculum and IEP guidelines and are unique to her students’ needs. She understands that each student comes with their own prior knowledge, has their own way of learning, and should be involved in their learning process every step of the way. Erica’s teaching philosophy is grounded in inclusion and therefore her job is to create a space where all students are eager to participate, feel comfortable taking risks, and have no hesitation in owning their mistakes.

During her free time, Erica likes to be active and adventurous. She enjoys boxing, coaching soccer, doing yoga and exploring. She believes that exercising all four (body, mind, spirit, and emotions) is the key to a healthy, full life and sets you up to be a lifelong learner.

Kameel K.

Kameel is your one-stop shop for tutoring in math, science, English, French, and humanities for grades K through 11! With 4 years of tutoring experience, he has developed engaging methods to help students with different learning styles reach their full potential in the classroom. Kameel completed his undergraduate degree at McGill University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in immunology at the University of Toronto. His unique perspective may be especially useful to students with interests in research or medicine. Kameel spends his spare time volunteering for seniors and writing children’s stories encouraging compassion and understanding regarding certain medical conditions. Kameel also enjoys working on his basketball skills (go raptors), playing Pokémon Go with his nephew, and going camping close to his hometown in Montreal with his cat, Cleo.

Andrea S.

My name is Andrea and I am a Primary/Junior Ontario Certified Teacher with a background in Early Childhood Education and Child Development. I have several years of childcare and teaching experience working with infants to 13 years old. I currently work as a special needs assistant where I work along side students exhibiting myriad educational needs. I am passionate about primary and believe that learning should be geared towards students interests. Hands-on, inquiry based learning has been an effective approach in engaging students in learning and reaching their full potential. Teaching is a noble profession and I enjoy being a positive part of children’s growth and development as it is very rewarding. When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, exercising, journaling, exploring nature, spending time with friends/family and enriching my mind by travelling.

Amy is a graduate of the OISE Master of Teaching program at the University of Toronto with prior experience as a Registered Early Childhood Educator. Amy is also a teacher with the Halton District School Board with qualifications in the Primary and Junior divisions and is pleased to offer her expertise outside of the classroom to support students with their specific learning needs. With the understanding, each student has their own unique learning style Amy has strategies and skills to provide students to find greater confidence in their learning journey. Amy enjoys working closely with students by fostering stronger connections on a one-to-one basis. She believes students will reach their learning goals by guiding them through significant learning opportunities which engage them deeper in their learning for stronger a understanding.

Emma T.

Emma has her diploma in Early Childhood Education from Sheridan College and is currently at Nipissing University pursuing her Bachelors of Education in the Primary/Junior French as a Second Language division.

Meriem T.

Meriem is an enthusiastic and hardworking teacher with strong interpersonal communication skills. She is currently a student in the primary/junior division of the French Bachelor of Teaching program at the University of Ottawa.

Meriem has been a French tutor to both children and adults of various levels. She additionally has in-class experience teaching the French, mathematics and science curricula, and has taught for two years at a virtual university

In addition to her teaching experience, Meriem has a strong background in the sciences: she is a Biology Engineer and holds two master’s degrees in Drug Development and Quality Management.

Meriem’s teaching style is primarily centered on class engagement. She adapts her teaching style to cater for everyone and makes the material as interesting as possible. Meriem has an approachable and inclusive style of teaching that is flexible enough to cater for a diverse range of learning styles, needs and requirements. Originally from Vancouver, Tessa came to Toronto to pursue studies in physics and mathematics at the University of Toronto. Now in the second last year of her degree, she is passionate about sharing the joys of scientific learning with students of all ages. With 5 years of private tutoring experience in her pocket, Tessa is dedicated to providing her students with high quality support through the use of personalized learning plans, stimulating regimens, and focus on strong foundations. Tessa has tutored high school students in mathematics, physics, English, and French, covering mathematics and physics into the university level. When she is not pouring over her physics homework, Tessa can be found going for long walks with her golden retriever and contemplating the philosophical implications of quantum field theory. Having worked as a lead instructor at PACE Summer Camps and a cycling teacher at Pedalheads in Vancouver, BC, Tessa has ample experience working with children aged 8-17 and hopes to inspire each student to unlock their potential and achieve success. Sydney has a Bachelor of Education degree and an undergraduate Bachelor degree in Psychology. She primarily works in the primary/junior division with knowledge and experience in Special Education and Autism. She has the following additional teaching qualifications: Special Education Part 1, Teaching Students with Communication Needs (ASD), Student Assessment and Evaluation, and Integration of Information and Computer Technology in Instruction. Sydney has a wide variety of experience working with children from teaching (in-person and online), coaching, and working one-on-one in academic and therapeutic settings (ABA). Sydney’s hobbies and interests include playing sports (especially soccer), baking and puzzle/board games.
