With over a decade of experience tutoring learners of all ages in literacy-based subjects—including English, Geography, History, and Social Studies—and up to Grade 6 in Math and Science, I bring both expertise and enthusiasm to every lesson. As an OCT-certified high school teacher with a Master’s degree in Education, I am passionate about helping students succeed not only academically, but also in building confidence and curiosity. My approach is rooted in kindness, fun, and meaningful relationships, because I believe learning flourishes when students feel supported and inspired. Alongside academics, I also bring a love for teaching yoga, encouraging balance, focus, and wellbeing as part of the learning journey.

 

PRISCILLA H.

Priscilla is a Registered and Certified teacher with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT). She completed her Master of Teaching degree at the University of Toronto and currently teaches in York Region schools. She has experience as a homeroom teacher in Grade 4/5 and brings valuable expertise working with Grade 7/8 students, supporting them as they develop the academic skills and independence needed to succeed at the intermediate level and prepare for high school. Priscilla has also led small-group targeted intervention programs and holds both Special Education and Early Language Learner qualifications. She has enjoyed teaching in an Autism Community Class and working as an English Language Teacher supporting newcomers from Grades 1–8, where she tailored instruction to meet each student’s unique needs.

Through these diverse experiences, Priscilla has developed a deep understanding of the needs of learners at different stages. She knows what skills and knowledge are expected at each grade level and how to bridge any gaps to support student growth. Her experience teaching during the pandemic, where some students learned online while others were in person, further strengthened her ability to adapt and create meaningful learning experiences. Priscilla is committed to fostering a supportive and encouraging environment where students can build confidence, develop a love of learning, and reach their full potential.

 

 

ERIN S.

Erin is a passionate educator planning to pursue an after-degree in education in the fall of 2026. She currently holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Conservation Science from the University of Alberta, completed in 2024. She has experience teaching children of all ages in dynamic environments as a gymnastics coach and dance instructor, and also worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Alberta. These experiences have taught her many techniques on how to best tailor her lessons to the needs and capabilites of her students to find what best motivates them to succeed.

Additionally, Erin has experience in various public-serving and supervisory roles. As a result, she displays a high level of leadership, adaptability, and conflict resolution capabilities.

Erin has a strong passion for education (especially STEM education) and as a life-long learner herself, she revels in the opportunity to inspire a passion for learning within others. She prioritizes fostering a safe and accepting learning environment, with a focus on boosting students self-confidence while also increasing their knowledge.

 

MAHSA B.

Mahsa brings over 12 years of teaching experience, having worked with young learners from toddlers to adolescents. Her educational journey began at age 18, when she volunteered as a teacher for an NGO, helping underprivileged children access quality learning opportunities they otherwise couldn’t afford. This early role sparked her lifelong passion for education and her dedication to creating positive change in students’ lives.
Committed to building an engaging and creative classroom, Mahsa weaves in real-world examples to make every lesson objective relatable and memorable. Growing up in London, she draws on her bilingual background to refine teaching strategies that promote natural language acquisition in English, while embracing cultural diversity and inclusivity to support all learners across multiple subjects. Holding a master’s degree in urban design, she loves incorporating hands-on crafts and design activities into her lessons, convinced that nurturing creativity enhances every aspect of learning.
Beyond the classroom, Mahsa is an avid musician who plays the violin, piano, and ukulele. She has performed as a violinist in concerts and at a film festival’s closing ceremony.

 

MARIETTE G.

Mariette has been teaching Math for 20 years. She completed her Bachelor of Education degree in 2000, from McGill University. While attending, Mariette was part of the National Honor Society.
Mariette is very passionate about teaching Math. She shows tremendous compassion with her students. She is understanding, patient, caring, easy to talk to, and will not stop trying, until your child understands the concept at hand.

 

KATE L.

Kate has over 20 years of experience collaborating with managers, coordinators, instructors, and ESL Student Support teams in dynamic, cross-functional environments.
She has extensive experience tutoring a wide range of grades and subjects. She is familiar with the Alberta curriculum. She is positive, confident and reliable and she is strong at arousing students’ interests in learning, especially the primary school students.

 

HELENA P.

Helena is a Teacher Candidate at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto, with a specialization in history at the Junior/Intermediate level. She brings over a decade of experience teaching in private schools across Toronto, where she has developed a patient, supportive, and engaging approach to working with students. Helena holds a Master of Arts degree from the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science, also from U of T. Drawing on her academic background and years of classroom experience, Helena is committed to helping students build confidence, develop critical thinking skills, and achieve their academic goals. Outside of teaching, Helena enjoys music, reading, and biking around the city.

 

Lisa T.

Lisa is an OCT qualified Primary/Junior teacher who has taught students ranging from nursery school to Grade 6. With experience teaching primary students across all subject areas, she understands that each child brings a unique set of abilities, learning styles, and academic needs to the classroom.
Over the past 15 years, Lisa has worked as a tutor throughout the Toronto area, following a decade of experience as a nursery school teacher. Her background in both early childhood and primary education gives her a strong foundation for supporting students at various stages in their learning journey. She later earned her Master of Science in Education to further deepen her expertise in helping diverse learners succeed.
Lisa is committed to creating engaging, personalized lessons that build on each student’s strengths while addressing their individual challenges. Her teaching style is flexible and responsive, designed to help students develop both skills and confidence. She strives to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment for all students, where they feel confident to ask questions, explore new ideas, and take on challenges. By fostering a love for learning, she aims to instill curiosity and a growth mindset that extends well beyond the classroom.
Whether a student needs help mastering foundational concepts, preparing for new academic challenges, or gaining confidence in a specific subject, Lisa brings patience, insight, and enthusiasm to every session.

Aimee C.

Aimee is a fully certified OCT teacher with Primary/Junior qualifications. She has a B.A and B.Ed from Queen’s University. She has completed additional qualifications in special education (ASD, MID, LD, Behavioural needs), reading specialist part one, intermediate family studies, senior family studies, senior arts, and teaching ESL. Aimee is currently a supply teacher with the WRDSB, AMDSB, KidsAbility, and SJK. She is passionate about supporting all learners and is looking forward to doing so with PAT.

Hi, I’m Tiffinnea! Teaching has been at the heart of my life for over 11 years, and I’ve had the joy of guiding children from all different backgrounds—whether in Canada, overseas, or right here in our community. I’ve taught everything from art to cooking to core academics, and I have a special passion for supporting kids who learn differently.

Over the years, I’ve worked with children who have autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, learning challenges, and those who are learning English as a second language. My approach is creative, patient, and tailored to each child, because I believe every student deserves to feel confident, capable, and supported on their learning journey.
