Nasim holds a Master’s degree in Science with a specialization in Mathematics and Statistics from McMaster University, as well as a Bachelor of Education from Nipissing University, focusing on Mathematics. She is qualified to teach at the primary and intermediate levels, from Senior Kindergarten to Grade 8, and possesses additional qualifications in Special Needs education. With approximately 15 years of extensive experience in teaching and tutoring, she has worked with students in the York Region District School Board (YRDSB) and the Toronto District School Board (TDSB), both in public schools and Montessori settings. Furthermore, she has three years of international teaching experience at prestigious international schools.

Kayla is a dedicated OCT Primary/Junior qualified teacher. She is a self-motivated, efficient, and energetic individual excited to be able to use her skills and abilities to support her learners. Her academics have provided an array of opportunities to learn about working with individuals of various physical and cognitive abilities. Kayla’s career aspirations are and have always been to work with young people. She has worked with students with varying special needs such as severe learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorder, hearing impairments, visual impairments, individual behaviour plans, obsessive-compulsive disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, epilepsy, etc. Kayla most recently taught overseas in London, England where she worked in a special needs school. She considers herself a lifelong learner and is always exploring new techniques to best support her students.
Lauren L.
Lauren is a Teacher Candidate in the Master of Arts – Child Study and Education program at the University of Toronto OISE. She pursued an Honours Bachelors of Science degree in Geography and Environmental Sciences from McMaster University with a Minor in Psychology and Interdisciplinary Minor of Sustainability.
Lauren has a keen interest in supporting children and youth, sustainability, community-based work, and advocacy. Much of her volunteer and work experiences reflect these passions, as they are centered around children and youth. She has also worked as the director of a summer camp for several years, and as an ELL tutor and peer mentor.
Lauren firmly believes that care and understanding are fundamental in helping students succeed. As such she works to build strong relationships with her students, gaining a deeper understanding of their unique abilities and learning needs. She challenges students while finding novel ways to meet each child where they are at in their learning journey. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys snowboarding, travelling, and spending time with friends and family.

MITRA G.
Mitra G. holds a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Ontario Technology University and a Bachelor’s in Materials Engineering. With over three years of experience, Mitra has taught a wide range of subjects, including math, physics, chemistry, computer science, various software, english, and piano, to students from primary school to undergraduate levels. She has a deep understanding of the Ontario curriculum and uses dynamic, interactive teaching strategies to help students master challenging concepts. She builds strong, reliable connections with students to create a positive engaging learning environment.
Mitra’s academic career includes few published papers and international conference presentations, reflecting her expertise and passion for education. Her teaching approach has consistently led to significant academic improvements, with students raising their grades by up to 15% through focused problem-solving review sessions. As a teaching assistant at Ontario Tech University, she taught courses such as thermodynamics, heat transfer and metals forming, further refining her ability to break down complex topics with clarity and precision. She committed to continuously exploring new educational technologies to enhance her tutoring sessions and support her students’ growth.
In her spare time, Mitra enjoys staying active by participating in sports, spending quality time with family and friends, and reading books. She believes that balancing personal passions with her professional life helps her bring fresh energy and perspective to her teaching.
Andriene M.
Andriene is a second-year student in the Master’s of Teaching program at the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. She has had two placements within the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board where she formed strong connections with students teaching various subjects in grade 3 and 3/4 classrooms. She has recent experience tutoring a grade 4 student in literacy and mathematics as well as a grade 9 student in mathematics.
Andriene’s affinity towards education was influenced by her many experiences working with children in different settings. After graduating summa cum laude from McMaster University, earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology Neuroscience and Behaviour, Andriene gained employment working closely with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder as an Instructor Therapist of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). She administered both one-on-one and group ABA therapy, teaching various skills including academic, communication, emotional regulation, and executive functioning skills. Working with students on the spectrum placed empathy and compassion at the center of her approach to teaching. Following this, Andriene landed a position as a project coordinator for the Faculty of Science at McMaster University, wherein she co-developed an afterschool and summer STEM outreach program for Black high school students.
Andriene’s prior experiences demonstrate a strong passion for helping students reach their fullest potential. She looks forward to cultivating positive and engaging learning environments within her tutoring practice as she applies student-centred approaches to teaching literacy and mathematics from grades K-8.
