Jack M.
Jack M. is a dedicated educator who currently teaches 7th grade for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. A graduate of Salem State University in Massachusetts, Jack brings a passion for learning and a commitment to helping students reach their fullest potential. His teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive, engaging environment where students feel confident tackling challenges and developing lifelong skills. Outside the classroom, Jack’s caring nature shines through his lifelong love of rescuing dogs, and his competitive spirit comes from years spent playing sports—a balance of compassion and teamwork that he brings to his teaching every day.
Sarah C.
Sarah C. was born and raised in Philadelphia. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Temple University and later completed a Master of Arts in Teaching. Sarah began her teaching career in Philadelphia, where she taught second grade for five years in diverse urban classrooms before transitioning to the suburban context. These experiences have given her a well-rounded perspective on how to support students across varied backgrounds and learning needs.
Alongside classroom teaching, Sarah has been deeply committed to serving her community. For over a decade, she has volunteered with summer camps, after-school programs, and local church-led initiatives such as annual backpack drives, all designed to support children and families. Her professional and volunteer work reflects her passion to see children thrive both academically and holistically as individuals.
With extensive experience in early intervention, Sarah believes that targeted, intentional instruction is key to ensuring every child’s success. She is committed to building strong relationships with her students and designing learning experiences that foster confidence, growth, and a lifelong love of learning.
Mia F.
Mia has a Bachelor of Education degree from McGill University.
She has worked for one year as a teacher at St. George’s Elementary School and is currently in her second year of teaching at Solomon Schechter Academy.
Her specialties include English and Math for students at the elementary level. In addition, she has worked as a student teacher at Lower Canada College and Akiva where she supported the teacher’s objectives, planned, prepared and implemented original lessons and activities.
Mia believes that there is not a “one size fits all” approach when it comes to teaching would like her students to feel welcome and safe from judgment. She understands the need for differentiation and always tries to integrate multiple learning styles and techniques in her teaching.
Beverly Y.
Beverly graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Harvey Mudd College and an Master’s of Education from Boston University.
She is a Certified Teacher who has worked with elementary and middle school students in Taiwan, Japan, and the United States.
Beverly’s diverse teaching experience has shown her that building relationships with students is the most important step in meeting their educational needs.
She believes every student is a “math person” and prioritizes developing number sense and critical thinking during her sessions. Beverly is excited to help students find learning strategies that work for them and encourage their curiosity about math.
In her spare time, Beverly enjoys hiking through autumn landscapes, solving jigsaw puzzles, and pondering why students have contentious arguments over whether a hotdog is a sandwich. (She’s inclined to say, “Yes,” per the Merriam-Webster definition.)
JOANNA S.
ANGELICA J.
Angelica is a certified general, special education, and TESOL teacher (Birth – 6th grade). She studied at St. Joseph’s University and Touro University and has been dedicated to the education field for the past six years. Each experience has enforced her professional desire and has given her an even greater perspective of what it is to be a teacher. After school, Angelica teaches private ballet lessons at various dance studios on Long Island. Angelica takes pride in passing onto her students her excitement of dance arts. Over the past few weeks, Angelica has been working with her students for the annual performance of
The Nutcracker. When Angelica is not working, she loves horseback riding, paddle boarding, hiking, and reading. She also loves spending time with her dog, Henry.
