A true New Yorker, Samantha started her educational journey at the Nightingale Bamford School in NYC before pursuing a degree in Communications at Syracuse University, where she graduated cum laude. Following graduation, Samantha spent over a decade working in Public Relations, where she honed her communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
Now, she has set her sights on a new path, and is attending Fordham University’s Graduate School of Education, where she is working towards her goal of becoming a School Counselor. Having travelled widely and worked in various countries as a professional as well as an entrepreneur, I wish to now pursue my true calling, helping young minds grow. My five years of experience as an English teacher followed by CELTA qualification in 2014 were steps in this direction.

Umir is a Miami native currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science Degree at Florida International University, specializing in pre-dentistry. From sixth grade onwards, Umir has harbored a passion for tutoring in various subjects. During high school, he assumed leadership roles in math and science clubs, taking charge of organizing after-school tutoring sessions. Now, at the university level, Umir serves as a Learning Assistant for biology and English classes, in addition to his role as a tutor in the math lab.
Umir’s journey as a tutor commenced during high school when his voluntary assistance to fellow students caught the attention of teachers. Impressed by his dedication, they recommended Umir join after-school tutoring clubs. In university, his professors recognized his outstanding academic record and extended an invitation for him to become a paid Learning Assistant and math lab tutor. Signira’s love for working with children has been a constant thread in her life. From the role of a Camp Counselor to the responsibilities of a Camp Coordinator, she’s fostered a nurturing environment for growth and fun. In the heart of Virginia, she contributed to a non-profit, making a positive impact by providing before and after-school care for underprivileged families. Her focus on offering supplementary support, tackling homework challenges, and nurturing students’ potential laid the foundation for her true calling.
Discovering her love for teaching, Signira took a leap and joined Teach for America, an organization committed to transforming education and expanding opportunities for children. Her dedication and commitment to the cause earned her the prestigious title of Teacher of the Year at her school this year, a testament to her unwavering passion and high-yielding results in student data.

Amy S-K. graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a minor in mathematics. Amy Serda-King has 20 years of teaching experience and is currently teaching middle school mathematics. Amy believes that by establishing a positive rapport with her students, she is better able to identify their areas of need to better serve each student. She loves working with children, providing one on one instruction and building confidence in their math skills. In her spare time, Amy loves travelling, going to concerts and spending time with her friends and family.

Esmeralda T. is the Head Start ERSEA/Early Childhood Enrollment Coordinator at South San Antonio ISD. A proud graduate of Concordia University Austin, she was inspired to pursue a career in education after attending nursing school and working with children during pediatric clinicals. She decided that children were where her heart was. Before working at South San Antonio ISD, she was a Bilingual Teacher at Edgewood ISD where they were responsible for teaching pre-k and kinder students cognitive skills and helping develop social-emotional competencies for school readiness. In their free time, they can be found watching their favorite football team the Dallas Cowboys play football.
Kerline L.
Kerline L. is a dedicated and certified Pre-K through 3rd-grade teacher with a genuine passion for education. Kerline graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Administration at Barry University in Miami, Florida. Her journey in education began long before her formal teaching career. For two decades, Kerline served as a Sunday school teacher in her church, nurturing the hearts and minds of children. It was during this time that she discovered her love for teaching and the profound impact it could have on young lives. Driven by her desire to make a positive difference in the lives of children, Kerline transitioned to a formal teaching role.
Kerline’s educational experience includes three years as a classroom teacher and one year as an ESL teacher teaching English as a Second Language online to students in China. Kerline firmly believes in the uniqueness of every child, understanding that each one learns in their own way. Her teaching philosophy revolves around creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every student can thrive. Whether in person or online Kerline makes learning very engaging so students will enjoy the experience. Kerline believes students are able to grasp the concepts better when learning is fun and engaging. Ayesha A. is a Florida native. She completed a PhD in Philosophy at Penn State and her MD degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. She has been a general surgical resident at the University of Miami and has expertise in tutoring everything from the humanities, writing, SAT prep, middle school and early high school mathematics, as well as biology and chemistry.
