Prabhjot K.

Prabhjot K. holds a Ph.D. in Biological Engineering and brings extensive teaching experience across both high school and university levels. She has taught high school science and mathematics for over eight years. She has 5 years of experience teaching first- and second-year university mathematics, physics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and mass transfer courses. Her interdisciplinary background allows her to connect engineering concepts with strong analytical and quantitative skills.

Michael O.

Michael Orrett is a pending Ontario Certified Secondary Teacher. He grew up in Whitby, Ontario and completed an Undergraduate Degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo in 2024. He earned a Graduate Diploma in Secondary School Teaching from the Auckland University of Technology in 2025. Michael has over ten (10) years of experience teaching and mentoring diverse learners, from his time as a tennis club professional coaching at the Fenelon Falls Tennis Club, to teaching first-year Chemical Engineering Students at the University of Waterloo. During his teaching practicum in New Zealand, he taught Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry to students from Grades 8 to 12 at Westlake Boys High School and Glenfield College. His experiences in these schools deepened his appreciation for culturally responsive and relationship-focused teaching. Michael believes that by building strong relationships and fostering curiosity, students can develop both confidence and a genuine love of learning. He continues to refine his teaching practice to help students connect their learning to the real world through inquiry, problem-solving, and creativity.

Christopher S. is a teacher candidate at Western University. He completed his Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo. He later finished his Master of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo where he studied the application of the CRISPR system in insect cells. Throughout his academic career, Christopher had the chance to teach many first-year engineering students where he realized that he had a passion for science communication. Christopher specializes in helping students learn math and science, and encourages students to think about how these subjects can relate to their everyday lives.

Ricky F.

Ricky is a Teacher Candidate at Western University, he previously received his B.A. Sc and M.A. Sc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. Ricky worked as a teaching assistant in engineering, chemistry, and programming classes throughout his undergraduate and graduate career. He is passionate about helping students in their academic journeys. Ricky knew from a young age that he was interested in becoming a teacher. He was involved in the robotics team and math club in high school, which are subjects he hopes to support as a full time teacher.
Outside of teaching, Ricky continues to expand his technical skills through personal programming projects across various fields of computer science. He enjoys applying computational thinking to real-world problems and integrating technology into learning experiences. Ricky is committed to lifelong learning and looks forward to guiding students not only toward academic success but also toward developing crucial critical thinking skills.

Anthony (AJ) L.B.

Anthony (“AJ”) La Barca is a Ph.D. student in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder. He holds a B.S. in Physics & Astronomy with minors in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Music from the University of Rochester. AJ has extensive experience tutoring and teaching at the middle-school, high-school, and collegiate levels, serving as a teaching assistant in both physics and aerospace engineering courses. Proficient across math, physics, computer science, and engineering topics, he strives to make complex concepts accessible and engaging for students of all levels. Outside of academia, AJ is an avid rock climber, skier, and photographer, often combining his love for science and the outdoors through astrophotography.

CAITLIN W.

Caitlin has a master’s degree in Special Education Grades 1-6, and is a certified Special Education Teacher currently teaching in the Bronx, NY. Caitlin has 5 years experience teaching high-need K-5 students in various settings. She has 3 years experience teaching in an ICT classroom and 2 years experience providing intensive small group and one-on-one academic support to at-risk students and students with IEPs. Caitlin has both Elementary Reading and Math teaching and tutoring experience and is trained in a variety of evidenced based, multi-sensory intervention programs. Caitlin has a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and has over 10 years experience in tutoring middle and high school math and science courses. Caitlin is knowledgeable of higher level math and science curriculum and can explain it in a way that her students can comprehend. Caitlin has a passion for learning and for helping students succeed and believes that all students can learn if they are provided with instruction tailored to their needs.
