Samantha is a bilingual educator with more than 20 years of experience helping students of all ages discover their strengths and enjoy learning. She has taught everything from core subjects in Elementary to Social Studies and English in Middle School to English as a Second Language (ESL) to adults and is known for turning challenges into confidence-building wins through social-emotional learning (SEL). With a Master’s in Positive Education and certifications in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), English as a Second Language (ESL), Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and Family Coaching, Samantha combines expertise with a warm, encouraging approach that brings out the best in every learner. Samantha combines strong academic expertise with a supportive, student-focused approach. She partners with families to ensure students not only improve their grades but also grow in confidence, motivation, and prevailing learning skills. Maddy K. is an award-winning educator who brings over 15 years of educational excellence and genuine passion for student success to her tutoring practice. Her classroom experience spans work with diverse learners, including general education, special education, basic skills, and English Language Learners, giving her a deep understanding of how to adapt her teaching approach to individual learning styles and

In her free time, Maddy enjoys hiking at local parks with her husband, daughter, and dog Miles. Airanee G.

Airanee Galmon is a passionate tutor with a Master’s degree in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor’s degree from Southern University and A&M College. She loves helping students discover their strengths and grow in confidence both academically and personally. Specializing in English Language Arts, Airanee brings over eight years of proven success supporting students in grades 3–12. She enjoys finding creative ways to make reading, writing, and comprehension both engaging and approachable.

Known for her patience and supportive teaching style, Airanee tailors each lesson to fit her students’ unique learning styles and goals—helping them not only meet grade-level expectations but also push beyond their potential. When she’s not tutoring, she can usually be found enjoying the arts, exploring local coffee shops, or making others laugh with her sense of humor—because learning works best when it’s both effective and fun.

ERIN S.

Erin S. is a strategic and compassionate educator with more than 30 years of teaching and consulting experience across independent schools, summer programs, and private practice. She earned her B.A. in Elementary Education and Art History from Manhattanville College and holds both a Connecticut Initial Educator Certificate (Elementary 1–6) and a New Jersey Standard Certificate (Elementary N–8).

Erin has taught a wide range of grade levels, from early childhood through high school and college, with extensive experience in literacy, numeracy, and executive functioning. She began her career teaching at Palmer-Trinity School in Miami before moving on to King & Low-Heywood Thomas School, The Pingry School, and public school settings. She has also served as an English teacher at Westhill High School and as a Sixth Grade Math/ELA teacher at the Horizons Summer Program.

In addition to her classroom roles, Erin has worked as a private educator and educational consultant, designing individualized learning plans, supporting students with ADHD and anxiety, creating curricula, and advocating for accommodations in partnership with schools. She also served as Associate Director of Admissions at St. Margaret’s Episcopal School, where she led preschool, kindergarten and Elementary enrollment initiatives.

Known for her joyful, engaging approach, Erin specializes in early literacy, executive functioning coaching, Math, test taking strategies, social-emotional learning, and enrichment for advanced learners. She is dedicated to meeting each student’s unique needs and fostering both academic growth and confidence.

KIAYANA B.

Kiayana is a certified teacher in Alberta and holds a Bachelor of Education with minors in Social Studies and History. She has experience teaching Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 6, and has also worked as a Diverse Learning Teacher. Her background includes working as a Preschool Teacher, where she focused on fine motor development, letter formation, and early phonics skills. In addition to her classroom teaching, Kiayana has worked as a Behavioural Aide supporting a student with Autism and ADHD. Through this role, she gained experience in social-emotional learning, functional language development, and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). Kiayana is especially passionate about literacy. She has worked as a Reading Instructor for two years and has supported a wide range of learners, including those with complex needs, to build confidence and skills in reading. She is patient, flexible, and committed to fostering a growth mindset. Kiayana values creating fun, engaging learning environments and building meaningful, long-lasting relationships with her students to help them grow both academically and personally.

 

Rina T.

I am a highly committed and experienced educator with over eight years of experience working in high school settings. Throughout my career, I have developed a deep understanding of adolescent learning and development, and I consistently support students in achieving both academic success and personal growth. I’m known for my ability to build strong relationships with students, create inclusive learning environments, and tailor my instructional approach to meet individual learning styles and goals.

Beyond the academic year, I dedicate my summers to working with younger students as both a tutor and a volunteer in nature-based learning programs. I bring energy and creativity to these roles, helping children strengthen their foundational skills in literacy, math, and science. My approach blends structured academic support with experiential learning, making summer programs both engaging and impactful.

I am passionate about fostering curiosity, resilience, and confidence in my students. Lucas J.

Lucas Jacob has taught and tutored writing, literature, and reading to grades 6-12 for more than 30 years, in private, public, and public-charter schools across the United States and in Budapest, Hungary, where he was a Fulbright Fellow. He holds a B.A. in English and African/African-American Studies from Carleton College (Phi Beta Kappa; magna cum laude) and an M.A. (with highest honors) in writing and literature from Temple University. Luke has published nearly 100 essays, poetry, and works of fiction in trade journals (including Education Week and Independent School Magazine) and literary magazines (including Southwest Review and Chicagoland’s venerable RHINO). His first two full-length collections of poems have come out in the past six years, from Eyewear Publishing (London, UK) and Next Page Press (San Antonio, TX). He currently serves as co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Media Literacy Education and he is working on both his first middle grades novel and his first mystery novel for adult audiences, which goes to show that even when he is not teaching reading and writing he is…well…reading and writing.

 

Grace F.

Grace F. is earning her degree in Elementary Education at North Central College, where she has maintained a high GPA and earned a spot on the Dean’s List for six consecutive semesters. Originally from Elmhurst, she discovered her love of teaching while helping classmates with writing, research, and public speaking. What started as casual tutoring turned into a true passion for supporting students.

Grace has worked with learners from early childhood through middle school, developing creative, student-centered lessons through daycare and summer programs. She believes every child learns differently and thrives on adapting instruction to meet individual needs.

Through her college placements, Grace has taught in 1st through 4th grade classrooms and supported 5th grade accelerated math, gaining experience in literacy, math, and science. She also helps students strengthen executive functioning skills like organization, planning, and time management—because sometimes, learning how to learn is the biggest lesson of all.

Outside the classroom, Grace enjoys birdwatching and exploring the outdoors. Her love of animals and education came together through the Greater Chicago Cage Bird Society, where she taught scout groups about bird care and behavior. She’s been helping students—and birds—take flight ever since.

Anvitha E.

Anvitha Ellanki is a dedicated tutor from San Antonio, Texas, who blends academic excellence with a deep passion for mentoring and service. Graduated in the top 2% of her class at Health Careers High School and an AP Scholar, she has completed 15 AP courses and earned college credits in subjects like medical terminology, calculus, and English. Beyond the classroom, she’s led health fairs, coached debate students, and conducted research on everything from cactus moths to stem cell therapy for neurodegenerative diseases. Whether she’s tutoring students, prepping students for UIL, or editing essays, Anvitha strives to create engaging, supportive, and personalized learning experiences. She’s fluent in English, Telugu, Tamil, and Spanish, trained in classical Indian dance, and believes that confidence and curiosity are the foundation of any student’s success.
