Luke is a certified teacher who has over 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience. He specializes in both elementary and secondary English and through his years of teaching is able to support students in a variety of subjects. Luke has taught Business, Civics, History, Geography, and General Social Studies. He is also proficient in supporting English language learners and students with special education needs. Sally M.

Sally Mastromonaco is an experienced educator of 25 years. With a specialization in English, Reading Strategies, and Special Education, she has dedicated her career to fostering a love of learning in students from SK to 12. She focuses on literacy and numeracy skills development in her tutoring practice. Sally’s journey in education began during her high school years in Amherstburg, ON, where she worked at the local library and discovered her deep affinity for teaching. This early experience fueled her desire to pursue a career in education. After completing her Master of Arts in English Literature, she moved to the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) to embark on her teaching journey. Known for her ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment, Sally prioritizes mutual respect and active student participation in her classrooms. She believes in empowering her students to become confident learners and critical thinkers. Beyond the classroom, Sally leads a fulfilling personal life as a proud soccer mother to her 16-year-old son. In her spare time, she enjoys practicing yoga, taking leisurely walks with her pug companion, Max, and enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the Muskoka region.

ALFIYA G.

Alfiya is an Ontario Certified Teacher with over 8 years of teaching experience both overseas and in Canada. She graduated at the University of Toronto in Neuroscience and Psychology, which equipped her with a unique understanding of cognition and motivation.

She has taught students from K-12 for the past 8 years and has diverse experience in teaching ESL students, students with exceptionalities, as well as various subjects such as Primary division all subjects, English to grade 12 and Math to grade 8.

Alfiya’s passion and mission is to guide students to understand concepts in a fun and simple way, to develop and challenge their independent and critical thinking skills, and to draw meaningful connections to themselves and the society. She has a genuine interests in her students’ success and knows that they all have the ability to achieve excellence

OLIVIA M.

In 2019, Olivia graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History. In 2021, she completed her Bachelor of Education degree from Queen’s University with Intermediate/Senior qualifications, as well as a concentration in Exceptional Learners. She is looking forward to be working as an Occasional Teacher for the Toronto Catholic District School Board, come September.

She has considerable experience working with ELL students, and intends on taking Additional Qualification courses in Teaching English Language Learners, as well as Special Education and Primary/Junior courses in the near future. She has taught for both the Catholic and Public School Boards across the GTA, as well as virtual school settings. Her goal as an educator is to lead with compassion, tailoring instructional strategies to suit the individual needs and learning styles of her students. Olivia genuinely loves to learn, and hopes her enthusiasm will inspire her students to succeed. She values the unique perspective that every student brings to the lesson, and strives to create a positive rapport with every session. When Olivia is not teaching, you can find her playing the piano, finding her zen doing yoga, or spending quality time with family & friends!

Sacha F.

EN: Sacha has fully immersed himself in the study of English Literature since he graduated high school in 2017. He graduated with a DEC in Literature at Dawson College in 2019, received his BA Specialization in English Literature from Concordia University in Fall 2022, and is currently obtaining my MA in English Literature from Queen’s University. In the future, he hopes to become an educator and teach college-level English courses, where his passion will resonate through his classrooms and to his students.
Sacha is perfectly fluent in English and French. He is a well-rounded individual with interest and knowledge in various other subjects, such as French and Math. His experience in tutoring ranges from one-on-one personalized tutoring to being a mentor for larger groups of youths around Montreal. Sacha believes that anyone and everyone can succeed in whatever they put their mind up to. He hopes to show that to his students in the future.

Hello, I’m Sean!

I graduated from the concurrent education program at Brock University. This means that I have my bachelor of education as well as my bachelor of arts in integrated studies with honors. I also have 4 years of teaching experience which was acquired from various schools in Canada as well as the United Kingdom. I’m a licensed teacher in Ontario as well as the United Kingdom with teaching designations in the junior, intermediate and senior streams.

I specialize in English and history. This means that I am able to help your child improve their reading, writing, and speaking capabilities in order to prepare them for university or to help them achieve a higher mark in their course. I have taught grade 11 and 12 English numerous times, meaning that I have developed lessons, activities and worksheets specifically designed to help and improve a student’s essay writing.

Having 3 years experience working with international students, I am confident in my ability to help your child if English is their second language.

IRA B.

Ira brings twenty years of experience teaching literature, writing, and grammar to students at the Horace Mann School in Riverdale, NY. His teaching practice (MA, New York University, English Education) has been informed by his background in theater and writing. He received a BA in Theater Studies from George Washington University and an MFA in Dramatic Writing from Brandeis. He has studied with members of the Royal Shakespeare Company on ways to use rehearsal techniques to engage students’ emotional and kinetic intelligence. Ira’s interest in languages and world cultures drew him to the study of TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) at Teachers College, Columbia University. As an instructor at Westchester Community College, he has taught ESL to students at all levels of English proficiency. He has tutored students in the US and China via Zoom in ESL and TOEFL preparation. Ira brings deep knowledge of his subject areas along with dedication to finding the best mix of techniques to help each student thrive. He knows that students learn best when they feel seen and prized as individuals with interests and skills beyond the work at hand. Ira helps students to see and understand their academic growth so they can develop confidence in their ability to learn independently.

TONYA U.

Tonya was born in Ukraine and moved to Canada in 2000. She holds a Master’s Degree in Linguistic from Odessa State University, Ukraine.

Tonya is Qualified as a Linguist, Teacher of English Language and Literature. She is certified by the Ontario College of Teachers (473290). In Canada, Tonya completed her Basic Qualifications in Intermediate and Junior Divisions-Dramatic Arts. In addition, she took Junior and Primary Divisions courses and is qualified to teach grades K to 12. She completed the 3-part Special Education Specialist course, as well as Literacy and Reading, Additional Qualification courses in Primary and Junior Mathematics (Parts 1 and 2), and ESL (Parts 1 and 2). 

Her career as an educator began in Ukraine, where she had taught English as a Foreign Language for 10 years. In Canada, she now has 10 years of a successful Special Education Teacher career as well as an Elementary Homeroom Teacher in Northern Ontario, Nunavut and Toronto.

Tonya is not only passionate about teaching but also about traveling, adventure and meeting new people. 

She has helped many students catch up with current grade level expectations, enhance grades, boost confidence and establish effective study routines. Tonya firmly believes that every child can succeed when taught in accordance with their unique learning style and abilities. She always strives to establish a personal connection with her students and empowers them to become independent lifetime learners.

KIMBERLY S.

Kimberly is a multifaceted teacher that has taught in various classroom settings and grade levels. She served on various school improvement teams, education coordinator, and served as a team leader, a Kid Tech Nation administrator, and a cooperating teacher for future educators. She is recognized as a passionate, student-centered educator. She continuously seeks to improve learning and student success. She earned her B.A. degrees in Education and Bio-Psychology from the University of New Brunswick. She also holds her Human Service Counselor degree and has years of experience working with youth with mental illnesses. Kimberly has dedicated herself to becoming a life-long educator and learner, and she strives to instill a similar desire in all the students with whom she works. As an educational leader and advocate Kimberly volunteers and helps families with life skills that are both practical and beneficial in their daily lives.

ROSEMARY M.

An academic, experienced business professional and translator (English and Spanish), Rosmery has over 15 years of experience teaching Spanish, Literature and Writing courses. She believes that education enables us to stand on our own feet, especially when character-building is promoted in our daily interactions. Rosmery loves working with people from around the world, and her background in professional translation has afforded her unique perspectives on culture and communications in North and South America.
