Cassidy P.

Cassidy earned a B.S. with a double major in Physics and Mathematics from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology while playing varsity softball and working in Residence Life. After graduation, she worked as a scientist for the Department of Defense for three years. During that time, she earned an M.Th. in Theological Studies from Liberty University. Cassidy then served as an Assistant Pastor for four years, enjoying mentoring students and teaching all ages. Her husband’s career as an Army nurse relocated them to San Antonio, where they had their first child.

Cassidy has tutored, formally and informally, throughout high school and college. Passionate about learning and, consequently, teaching, she is always gaining new knowledge and skills — from coding to music to cooking and beyond. Her other passions include her faith, motherhood, and health and fitness. She also enjoys reading and doing puzzles.

SABA E.

Saba earned an Economics degree and is now pursuing two combined degrees at the University of Calgary: a BSc in Mathematics and a BCom in Finance. She brings nearly two years of tutoring experience from a children’s charity, where she worked with kids from all backgrounds and with different abilities.

From a very young age, her father kindled her interest in mathematics through playful arithmetic games. The more she learned, the more she fell in love with it. Today, she devotes herself to this passion. She finds fulfillment in sharing and exchanging knowledge.

Saba believes that a patient, supportive approach can inspire a lifelong passion for learning. Friends describe her as caring and nurturing, and her motherly nature makes children feel comfortable.

Horzy G.

Horzy G. is an experienced educator and college counselor with a Master’s in Educational Psychology and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from New Jersey City University. Born and raised in New Jersey, Horzy always wants to give back to his community. He has guided hundreds of students through the college application process, achieving a 100% acceptance rate for graduating seniors. Horzy has also taught psychology at the high school level and has over ten years of experience in tutoring.

In addition, he has tutored multiple subjects, including philosophy, college-level writing, and high school math topics. With expertise in student counseling, leadership, and academic mentoring, he creates personalized, engaging learning experiences that foster confidence and success. Outside of education, he enjoys watching movies, reading books, and going hiking with his family.

Natnael M.

Natnael is a Computer Science student at Toronto Metropolitan University. He has 7+ years of Computer Science, Mathematics, and Science experience, 8+ years of Mathematics Experience, both at High-School and University levels. Natnael also has 2+ years of Tutoring experience, with both one-to-one and in groups. Lesson plans are flexible and catered to the student, with an emphasis on understanding why something happens, not only what to do to solve it.

Hi! My name is Sophie and I am currently in the first year of the BEd at York. I have over five years of experience in personalized, high-quality tutoring. My primary focus is on math, and I am very passionate about helping students develop their mathematical intuition, thinking, proficiency, and (importantly!) confidence. I also tutor other subjects, especially writing-based courses, and I find it very meaningful to work with students on the crucial skills of on argumentation, articulation, and research. In my free time I love to paint for relaxation and creativity, even though I have never had any formal training/great skill. I mention this because I feel strongly that everyone should feel comfortable and confident to pursue their interests even if they don’t feel like they have the “natural skill”, and I bring that philosophy to my teaching.

Grace graduated from South China University of Technology, one of the most renowned universities in China, with a Bachelor’s Degree of Engineering . Since her graduation, Grace has been a passionate tutor for over 20 years. She is very familiar with the Ontario curriculum and is keen on sharing her knowledge and learning methods with young generations. In working one-on-one with students in Ontario over the past 15 years, Grace has taught in both the AP and IB streams. Boris G. combines industrial work as a quantitative data analyst, with part-time statistics teaching. He has a Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Toronto, an MS in Statistics from the University of Western Ontario, an MA in Economics from Simon Fraser University, and a BBA in Finance (minor in math) from Simon Fraser University. He continues his research in time series and prepares for the first level of the Financial Risk Management exam.

Sofia H.

Sofia is a doctoral student in the cell and molecular biology program at SDSU and UCSD. Her project explores the biological mechanisms of ovarian cancer metastasis and drug resistance.
Ms. Howe’s journey in science began at North Dakota State University where she was researching paternal investment in bees under stressful conditions, like cold weather. During her senior year, she shifted her research focus to biomedical sciences where she researched the effects of asthma in smooth muscle cells. While researching these biological topics, she was a goalkeeper for the Division 1 soccer program for 4 years.
Ms. Howe tutors biology, chemistry and math for Prep Academy Tutors of San Diego. Beyond her professional pursuits, Ms. Howe enjoys hot yoga, playing with her two yorkies, and restoring vintage Coach bags.

Ken L.

Ken earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Purdue University. He went to a well-known university in Shanghai when he was 15 years old. Ken has more than 30 years of college math teaching experience. He has great patience tutoring any type of student, and he always tries to find ways to relate math to real world situations. He is knowledgeable in a wide range of subjects. Recently, he began tutoring a college student in economics. His personal life experience shows that he is a fighter and a very kind person. He places great importance on the people he connects with.
