Patatchona K.

Patatchona K. is a dedicated mathematics and computer science educator who teaches students from pre‑secondary through undergraduate levels, with additional expertise in programming languages such as C++ and Python. With his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics, and currently completing his PhD in computer engineering at Polytechnique Montréal, Patatchona brings several years of tutoring and university‑level teaching experience. He is known for making difficult concepts feel accessible, adapting his approach to each learner’s needs, and helping students build confidence even when they begin with “I’m not good at math.” His teaching style combines clarity, patience, and real‑world examples, ensuring students not only learn but truly understand. Outside of teaching, he enjoys exploring the connections between math, technology, and everyday problem‑solving skills.

 

 

Mark B.

Mark B has a PhD in Mathematical Physics.
He has been tutoring all levels of math and physiics for about 30 years. The last five years he has been teaching math and physics in high schools.
Mark is very particular about proving everything in both math and physics from the ground up. If necessary he will go back to the level that the students is familiar with and build from there to make sure that the students understands every step.
He also likes to make the student figure out possible next steps in how to achieve a better understanding.
When it comes to problem solving in both math and physics, Mark likes the student to give examples for the basic problems, with input from the student, but then encourage the student to try without help as much as possible, before showing the solution.

 

Raiyan C.

Raiyan has a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo. Previously, he completed his undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto Mississauga with a Specialist in Bioinformatics, and Major in Computer Science. He has taught mathematics and computer science to undergraduates across the University of Toronto and Waterloo for over 5 years. Subjects he taught include differential and integral calculus, linear algebra, groups and symmetries, introductory software engineering, theory of computation, and algorithm design and analysis. In his spare time, Raiyan enjoys hiking and playing basketball.

 

Sylvie R.

Sylvie is a graduate of Ottawa University with a B.Sc. degree in Biochemistry as well as completing her B. Ed. with specialties in mathematics and chemistry at this institution. She has taught secondary mathematics and sciences and was the Student Success Leader for 25 years. She is now a pedagogical coach at the Consortium Centre Jules Léger (CCJL) to help deaf, blind and deaf blind students achieve their goals by helping their teachers with different projects and is also working with teachers of students with severe learning disabilities to develop their mathematical skills. Her passion is helping students achieve their highest potential as well as helping them develop and achieve their individual learning goals. Sylvie is perfectly bilingual and has been tutoring students from grades 7 to 12 in all levels of mathematics and sciences (biology, physics or chemistry). She has also worked in developing practical strategies in evaluating student progress through Growing Success with the Ministry in mathematics and by integrating strategies from Dr Anne Davis’s Connect to Learning workshops. Sylvie is patient and understanding and loves working with young people to help them add strategies to their repertoire and achieve their goals.

 

 

 

 

Sagar M.

Sagar M. is a dedicated math, statistics, and coding tutor with over nine years of professional experience helping students build confidence and achieve academic success. He holds a master’s degree and works as a Data Science Manager, applying advanced mathematics, statistics, and analytical thinking to real-world problems every day. Sagar supports students from elementary school through advanced levels in a wide range of subjects, including arithmetic, geometry, algebra, calculus, statistics, and probability. He also prepares students for standardized exams such as the SAT, ACT, AP math courses, and other assessments, helping them strengthen both content mastery and test-taking strategies. In addition, Sagar teaches coding to kids and professionals, using structured yet engaging lessons to develop logical thinking and problem-solving skills. He believes students learn best through clear examples, real-life applications, and puzzles that make even challenging topics approachable (and occasionally fun). Known for his patient, personalized approach, Sagar is passionate about helping each student reach their full potential while building skills that last well beyond the test.

 

ELDA H.

Elda H. is an Ontario Certified Teacher with a strong academic background and international teaching experience in both private and public schools and is highly familiar with the Ontario Mathematics Curriculum across intermediate and secondary grades. She holds a Master of Science in Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Tirana and has taught middle and high school mathematics across multiple grade levels.

Elda has extensive experience teaching Grades 8–12 mathematics, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, introductory calculus, and exam preparation. She is known for creating structured, engaging lessons that break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps. Her teaching approach emphasizes problem-solving, critical thinking, and real-world applications to help students build both understanding and confidence.

 

Thomas L.

Thomas received his Bachelor’s in Computer Science from Boise State University, where he was a member of the Honors College and graduated with a 3.99 cumulative GPA. He also studied Korean for several years, including a summer spent at a language immersion school where he gave up English for two whole months! He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Pure Mathematics at BSU, where his interests lie in mathematical logic and set theory.

 

Jacob M.

Jacob is currently working on earning his PhD from the University of Rochester. Having graduated from BSU in 2018, he celebrated by cultivating his love of nature on a cross-country camping trip across the lower forty-eight and Alaska. The last seven years, he’s spent pursuing his other passion, teaching. Working as an Adjunct Professor and TA at the University of Rochester, he has enjoyed learning to adapt the curriculum to his students’ individual needs.

 

 

 

Miguel A.

Miguel graduated from Cornell University, where he earned a B.A. summa cum laude in computer science with a minor in mathematics, as well as an M.Eng. in computer science. During his time at Cornell, he spent five semesters working as a teaching assistant in computer science and one semester working as a math tutor at the Math Support Center on campus, where he developed a passion for helping students learn in a one-on-one environment. As a lifelong lover of math and computing, Miguel hopes to help students learn and grow in these subjects.

In his free time, Miguel enjoys playing video games, practicing martial arts, rock climbing, and reading One Piece. He has also traveled to countries such as Japan (he speaks Japanese!), China, Norway, Sweden, and Serbia.
