The arts and humanities, and more specifically Extended French and Immersion have been foremost. Positions in international and private schools, as well as the Toronto District School Board, and in Ontario & France have also included the IB Theory of Knowledge and the IGCSE from the UK.
Interests include hiking, skiing, sailing, horseback riding, cycling, writing, photography, and environmental issues.
He likeshing for it’s involvement with young people who are discovering who they are, gaining skills, perspectives and structures which will serve them for many years. He finds that the energy of students, and his own, form a synergy of discovery for all involved. An attempt is made to connect learning to a student’s curiosity and experience and encourage new avenues of thought and action. This is a teacher who really enjoys his students and lifelong learning.
BROOKE S.
Hello! My name is Brooke. I am currently in my third year teaching. I graduated from l’Université de Saint Boniface with a major in French and a minor in Anthropology. I then received my education degree at the University of Manitoba with a specialization in EarlyYears. I have experience with a variety of ages, ranging form grades 1 to 6.
I love to read and appreciate a good Netflix show so I love to integrate books and media into my lessons to build engagement.
My favourite part about teaching is building relationships with my students, getting to know them, and seeing that “oh I get it!” moment. Helping my students begin to believe in themselves and grow their confidence is what makes me love my job so much.
