Mila M.

Mila graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science. She is currently completing her Master of Arts in Child Study and Education. Mila has a range of previous teaching experiences, including math, French, science, swimming and chess. She can best support students through helping them work on their critical thinking skills, communication, and application in their work. During her free time, Mila enjoys reading, boxing and spending quality time with her family.

AIDYN K.

Aidyn, currently entering her 5th year at Brock University, is pursuing concurrent degrees in Education and Integrated Studies, specializing in French. Aidyn’s academic journey is marked by a strong foundation in French Immersion education.

Her practical experience in education includes serving as a Tutor at the Brock University Learning Lab, where Aidyn developed lesson plans to enhance literacy. As a Student Peer at the same university, she facilitated access to digital texts for students with special needs with a commitment to educational equity. Aidyn is actively pursuing professional development, attending seminars and classes in areas like trauma-informed education, inclusive teaching practices, and language acquisition strategies, to enrich her teaching credentials and better serve her students.

Through her tutoring efforts, Aidyn aspires to make a lasting impact on the educational journey of those she teaches, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to succeed!

 

Thad F.

With a bachelor’s degree from the Air Force Academy and a master’s from theUniversity of Dayton, Thad’s credentials and experience run broad and deep. For over 30 years he has taught math, science, and English at the university level–all the way down through first grade. Thad’s passion and joy is helping students and their families overcome academic challenges and grow to thrive at the highest levels of their potential.

In his free time, Thad enjoys his six children and three grandchildren, tennis, hiking, photography, swing dancing, and food with his wife, Beth. He almost never meets a student with whom he does not enjoy working, and he hopes to continue teaching as long as his health allows–at least 50 more years!

NADIA S.

Nadia was a Montessori teacher (AMI trained) for over 35 years. She taught at the Casa level as well as Grade 1-2. She spent the last 8 years teaching Core French from the Casa level to Grade 3 at a local private school. Nadia is trained in the Orton-Gillingham Methodology and is currently tutoring students with this approach. She is passionate about Literacy and enjoys seeing the reading success of her students. Nadia also tutors adult Japanese ESL students online in Business English.

Her love of travel had her teaching ESL in Argentina and her students ranged from 10 to 70 years young! She spends time in Cuba with friends when time and resources permit. Nadia speaks French, Italian and some Spanish. When not tutoring, she enjoys spending time with her family and her dog. Gardening, hiking and reading are her favourite pastimes.

Olivia L.

Olivia, a certified teacher based in British Columbia. Her educational journey includes completing public education in the Okanagan and earning a Bachelor of Education from the University of British Columbia. Before pursuing Education, Olivia majored in History and minored in French. Passionate about lifelong learning, Olivia recently achieved her beginner yoga teacher certification and has future plans for a Master’s in Counselling.

Early on, she discovered her love for working with children, gaining experience in tutoring and nannying. Olivia’s expertise extends from elementary to high school, encompassing students with diverse needs.

Known for creating a supportive learning environment, Olivia excels at fostering meaningful connections with her students. In her leisure time, she cherishes moments with loved ones, particularly her certified assist therapy dog, Reggie, a cavapoo known for spreading love among kids and adults alike. Additionally, Olivia indulges in her passion for downhill skiing whenever possible.

GREG W.

Greg is a highly motivated and qualified individual with a strong academic background and teaching credentials. Holding a Bachelor of Education from UBC, Vancouver (Secondary) and an Honours BA in Education (Teacher Stream) from Trent University with a major in History, Greg achieved recognition on the Dean’s List. Furthermore, he graduated with honors from the American School of Paris, receiving the prestigious ‘Excellence Award’ and Scholarship (Lyle Nicholl Award) upon graduation.

In the realm of teaching, Greg has undertaken various significant roles. As a student teacher at Vancouver Tech Secondary School and Charles Tupper Secondary School in 2023.
Beyond academic achievements, Greg has a wealth of experience in practical teaching environments. Serving as a Day Camp Instructor and Coordinator at the Sports & Wellness Center from May 2019 to August 2022, focussing on programming thematic units and sports activities for diverse age groups. His proficiency in supervising children with varied learning and healthcare needs, coupled with effective communication with both facility management and parents, underscores his ability to navigate multifaceted responsibilities.
At Peterborough Youth Space (September 2021 – July 2022), Greg assumed the role of a Tutor and Mentor for marginalized youth in the ‘Downtown Youth Space,’ providing valuable support for those facing social and educational challenges. His engagement as a Tutor for The Peterborough Petes OHL team in June 2020 – September 2020 further exemplifies his dedication to connecting with students and delivering engaging curriculum content.
With a global perspective acquired from living abroad for seven years and fluency in French, Greg brings a unique and diverse skill set to any educational setting. Aude is currently in her first undergraduate year in the honours physics program at McGill University. She graduated from Champlain Ste-Lawrence CEGEP on the Dean’s list in 2023 with a degree in pure and applied sciences. She was awarded the Governor General’s medal for her high school journey. She has tutored students from kindergarten all the way to CEGEP for over two years in English as well as in French. She is passionate about science, especially regarding space and the early mysteries of our universe. You can often find Aude looking up at the sky, eager to identify constellations and planets in the sky. She also loves art, music and any winter sport.

Andrea brings over 14 years of teaching experience with the Peel District School Board, specializing in the primary, junior, and intermediate divisions and instructing students from grades 2 to 8. Not only did Andrea complete her elementary and high school studies in French, but she also holds a “French as a Second Language Specialist” designation. She has taught both French immersion and Core French classes. Andrea resides in Burlington with her husband and two beloved golden retrievers. She finds joy in spending quality time with her family and friends, as well as engaging in activities such as cooking, baking, skating, and taking leisurely walks with her dogs. Dimitry P. L.

Dimitry is a math college professor with more than 16 years of teaching experience. Most of the math subjects that he teaches and tutors range from algebra, precalculus, trigonometry and calculus. He has also tutored many middle school and high school students taking algebra classes and AB and AP calculus. He is the perfect candidate to help your child find the love for mathematics.
