KIMBERLY S.
Kimberly is a multifaceted teacher that has taught in various classroom settings and grade levels. She served on various school improvement teams, education coordinator, and served as a team leader, a Kid Tech Nation administrator, and a cooperating teacher for future educators. She is recognized as a passionate, student-centered educator. She continuously seeks to improve learning and student success. She earned her B.A. degrees in Education and Bio-Psychology from the University of New Brunswick. She also holds her Human Service Counselor degree and has years of experience working with youth with mental illnesses. Kimberly has dedicated herself to becoming a life-long educator and learner, and she strives to instill a similar desire in all the students with whom she works. As an educational leader and advocate Kimberly volunteers and helps families with life skills that are both practical and beneficial in their daily lives.
REBEKAH J.
Rebekah is currently studying to be an early years French Immersion teacher. She will be entering her final year of studies in the Faculty of Education at the University of Winnipeg in the fall. She looks forward to starting my career next Spring and teaching in her own classroom. Before entering the Faculty of Education she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in French Studies at the University of Winnipeg. Rebekah believes that teaching all aspects of the child to meet the emotional, social, academic and physical needs of her students is essential for complete learning. She believes that helping students create connections between the academic material and their real-lives allows students to excel and develop their personal curiosities. In her free time Rebekah enjoys spending time outdoors camping, canoeing and hiking
RACHEL F.
Rachel is a graduate from teacher’s college with a passion for education and a willingness to succeed. Rachel studied abroad in Wales, and she managed to teach herself some Welsh in addition to travelling to 8 countries while living there. Rachel returned to Canada in 2019. She joined the TDSB as an occasional teacher. Rachel has taught Grades 1-3 in the French Immersion Program. Rachel enjoys supporting student learning as a tutor outside of her teaching day. She approaches learning holistically, helping her students understand what they’re learning in school to the best of their ability. Rachel speaks both English and French fluently, and also has a background in tutoring both Math and English from working at a Kumon Centre as well as her teacher training. Outside of teaching, Rachel’s passions include keeping active, baking, hiking, and singing with her sister. She’s been to 18 countries in her life so far, and can’t wait to share her stories with anyone willing to listen!
ADEEL F.
Adeel earned his Masters in Education Technology from the University of British Columbia in 2015 and his Bachelor of Education from Nipissing University in 1999. In addition, he has a degree in Economics from Brock University and a diploma in Web/Multimedia Management and Webmaster from Georgian College. Adeel has Basic Qualifications to teach Junior and Intermediate Divisions, as well as qualifications in French, e-learning, and technology integration. Adeel strongly believes that each teaching opportunity should be unique to the students and that a strong relationship between teacher and student is vital to learning. He loves to teach coding to all grade levels, especially through the creation of computer games. Teaching French is also a passion of his, as he loves to see parent’s reactions when their children pick up a Parisian accent. Outside of the classroom, Adeel likes to spend his time playing with his two children and exploring the Muskoka region for great beaches and ice cream stands.
STEPHANIE L.
Stephanie graduated from the University of Toronto, where she received her (Honours) Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Psychology and completed her Bachelor of Education with York University. Stephanie is an Ontario Certified Teacher, who is qualified to teach all divisions (Primary/Junior/Intermediate and Senior). She has taken Additional Qualification courses in Special Education, English, Social Sciences, and Physical Education, to strengthen her skill set. Stephanie has many years of experience tutoring, both in group settings and one on one. Her experience in the classroom includes students ranging from kindergarten to high school, including a year of teaching Core French. In addition, Stephanie has a background in teaching students with various exceptionalities such as autism, dyslexia, and ADHD. From her time working at Holland Bloorview she has gathered a variety of strategies and resources to help with meeting the learning needs of many diverse learners. Stephanie is also creative with a high interest in arts and sports which she uses to create a fun and interactive learning environment. She is an energetic teacher who aims to make learning engaging and meaningful to all her students.
JERRY R.
Jerry was born in Paris, France and has recently moved to Toronto. He is a software developer with a great passion in making learning engaging and accessible for students of all ages. He has 8 years of experience working with students ages 5 – 60 in Dance and Math.
Jerry holds a degree in Biology and Computer Sciences from (name of university). In his spare time, Jerry enjoys cooking, honing his skills as a hip-hop dancer, and creating mobile games.
Jerry is very much looking forward to working with student of all ages from Prep Academy Tutors and making learning fun and enjoyable.
CLAIRE D.
Claire is an Ontario Certified Teacher who has been working with Prep Academy since March of 2020. She is an experienced teacher and tutor, with qualifications to teach French Immersion and every division. Her classroom experience includes both elementary and secondary schools, in French Immersion, French core, and secondary English. Claire holds both a Bachelor of Arts in French Literature and a Bachelor of Education. Her two degrees simultaneously combine her passions for education and languages. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.
SANYA C.
Sanya is an Ontario Certified Teacher. She grew up in Montreal, attending McGill University and graduating with a Bachelor of Kindergarten/Elementary Education. After a year of teaching in Montreal, Sanya decided to move to Toronto to pursue her career in teaching within the public school system. Within 2 weeks of moving to Toronto, Sanya was offered the opportunity to teach a Grade 1 class and jumped at the occasion, giving her great experience working with primary students. As well, she has additional qualifications in ESL (English as a Second Language) and is currently completing a second additional qualification in Reading (Part1). While living in Montreal, Sanya worked one-on-one with high school students helping with Math, Science, English, History and French. She loves working with students one-on-one and as a classroom teacher is able to see firsthand the benefits of tutoring support. During the summer months, Sanya enjoys travelling and is taking part in a summer program which involves taking high school aged students on a travel trip for 3 weeks. Sanya finds it extremely rewarding to work with students and really enjoys getting to know her students to help them succeed. In her spare time, Sanya likes to take part in outdoor activities like hiking, playing hockey, and running. In addition, she likes to try new foods and restaurants in the city of Toronto, and has an undeniable love for warm ooey-gooey chocolate chip cookies.
CASEY L.
Casey has been a teacher for the Halton district school board for 3 years. She has many years experience tutoring, both in group settings and one on one. She is French qualified. She is a graduate from Brock University with a Bachelor of Arts and a graduate from Nipissing University with a bachelor of education. She is an energetic teacher who makes learning engaging, fun and meaningful to all her students.
VICTORIA L.
Victoria graduated from Brock University, where she received her (Honours) Bachelor of Arts in Dramatic Arts while also obtaining certification in Drama in Education. Victoria is an Ontario Certified Teacher and received her Bachelor of Education from York University in the Junior/Intermediate division. Victoria has taken her French as a Second Language Part 1, Special Education Part 1, and her Primary Additional Qualifications. Victoria has taught professionally for the past two years while gaining experience teaching all subjects within the elementary school curriculum. She is passionate about infusing the arts into any learning environment and approaches every learner with enthusiasm and encouragement. Victoria strives to build meaningful connections with students and help them succeed in a safe and inclusive environment. Victoria has worked in private tutoring for 4 years supporting children from preschool all the way to grade 10. Aside from Theatre Arts, some of Victoria’s passions also include music, social activism, cosmetology, culinary arts, and literature.
