AHMED M.

Ahmed is an accredited teacher from Manitoba Education Ministry. He currently works in one of the lead school divisions in the province of Manitoba. Ahmed has over 8 years of teaching experiences. He uses state-of-the-arts teaching methodologies for teaching French for students in grades 1 to 6. Ahmed completed his University degree in French Literature from the University of Quebec in Montreal(UQAM). He then completed a postgraduate degree from the University of St-Boniface. Ahmed can teach French to all levels (grades 1 – 6 ) utilizing innovative teaching techniques and methods to help students overcome any challenges in learning French and make learning French enjoyable. Furthermore, he can teach Math, Science, Geography, and history in French. Ahmed will be happy to help you with your homework and make sure you are ready to take a test. TIANA S.

Tiana graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature in 2019. She will be entering her final year of her Bachelor’s of Education in the fall with teachable subjects in English and Geography. In addition to teaching students from Grades 9-12 (including ESL classes) throughout her practicum placements, Tiana has ample experience working with students from Grades K-8 in English, math, and science through previous tutoring experience. This prior experience is also where Tiana found a passion in Special Education. After building a friendly- yet professional relationship with her students, Tiana works with students according to their strengths and incorporates their hobbies and interests into learning material for an engaging and effective session!

KELVIN H.

Kelvin Hui first graduated from Queen’s University in 2008. In 2009, he then graduated from OISE (Ontario Institute for Studies in Education) at the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Education in the Intermediate/Senior grade levels.

Since then, he taught anywhere and everywhere! He taught in public schools, private schools, Montessori schools, and several schools overseas. He jumped at the opportunity to teach in both England and China. He absolutely loves traveling, immersing himself in a new country and new culture, and most importantly, teaching students of course! Through these experiences, Kelvin developed a deep passion for working with young children and guiding them to reach their fullest potential. He understands that learning is a process that requires hard work and patience.

DANIELLE F.

Danielle is a qualified Elementary School Teacher from Bristol, England who holds a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master’s in Education from the University of the West of England. Prior to starting her journey as a teacher in 2018, Danielle had worked with children for over 10 years in a variety of exciting and rewarding roles. She has volunteered at a school in Namibia and South Africa, was a Math Tutor in a High School, became an English teacher in Thailand and then became a Learning Support Assistant in Elementary Schools for 3 years. These enhanced her love for working with children and made her incredibly passionate about children’s education. Danielle’s areas of specialty include Early Years reading, where she is trained in reading recovery, the Better Reading Partnership (BRP) programme and phonics. In addition to this, Danielle has had training in ‘Numbers count’ which is a UK based math programme for Elementary School children. Since moving to Canada in July 2019, Danielle has been an Au Pair to 3 children in Grades 2 and 4 where she home-schools them in reading, literacy, math and geography.

In her spare time, Danielle enjoys reading, cycling, travelling, and volunteering with international charities. She is incredibly passionate about wildlife conservation and has volunteered in wildlife sanctuaries in Namibia, South Africa, Indonesia and Thailand. This passion has allowed Danielle to easily incorporate it into her teaching. Whilst being a Learning Support Assistant, she independently set up an extracurricular Geography Club with stimulating, active and inquiry-based lessons which explored a range of environmental topics.

Danielle believes that learning should be fun where the children work at a pace they are comfortable with.

ELVIS C.

Elvis graduated with his PhD in Neuroscience from McGill University where he made use of his physics, math and biology knowledge to unravel how neurological disorders arise in the healthy brain. He has been tutoring for 16 years as well as volunteered to teach elementary students about the brain by visiting classrooms and holding demonstrations. Over his tutoring career, he has encountered many learning personalities, where the strengths of each student lie and how to simplify complicated topics and instill a passion for learning in students.

TANJA N.

My name is Tanja and I am a passionate about education and building a strong learning environment. I have been teaching for 9 years and have been a part of three independent schools. I have worked with students from JK to grade 12 and and grateful for this spectrum of experience. I have also been an active tutor during my spare time and enjoy being able to work one on one with a student and build a relationship which leads to a safe space for learning. Beyond the classroom I am an active individual. I enjoy both indoor and outdoor sports. I am a retired National Team Rugby player and have always embraced the work ethic and positive team attitude characteristics this allowed me to grow. However, I must say my favourite part of my day is walking my white lab, Kaia. Looking forward to working with your family.

ALEX G.

Alex knew he wanted to be a teacher since he was in high school. He took the first steps towards fulfilling this goal while attending Western University, where he specialized in History and Geography. He then went on to receive his Bachelor of Education at Trent University and is now a committed Ontario Certified Teacher. It was through Alex’s studies that he developed a passion for world travel which led him to seek international teaching opportunities in South Korea. During his 6 years living there, he further developed his dedication to learning while working with teachers and students from around the world. Alex had the opportunity to work as an ESL teacher for the first year. He then went on to teach Economics, AP Economics, World Geography and AP Human Geography at an accredited International School for the next 5 years. During his time off, Alex travelled around the world as well as continued his love of basketball through both playing and coaching his high school team. Alex believes that by building a strong relationship with his students he is better able to meet their needs and help them grow. As a teacher, he continues to develop creative strategies for student learning to support and facilitate their success.

TANYA P.

Tanya P. is an Ontario Certified Teacher. She graduated from Trent University with a Bachelor of Arts in History with Emphasis in Education in 2015. While at Trent University, Tanya tutored two students for the student-run-organization, Trent Students for Literacy. In addition, she was also the coordinator of the Reading Circle for Trent Students for Literacy, where she supervised university students, who promoted literacy to children between the ages of two and five. In 2017, she graduated from Western University with a Bachelor of Education with Emphasis in Urban Education in the Intermediate/Senior grade levels. Having been a teacher candidate in Ontario, Tanya has volunteer experience within the Toronto District School Board and the Thames Valley District School Board.

Shortly after graduating in 2017, Tanya was given the opportunity to teach in a grade eight classroom on a fly-in reserve in Pikangikum, Ontario. Tanya accepted the position due to her passion for Aboriginal education and her strong desire to understand and support students by promoting a positive self-representation of themselves and their culture. While in Pikangikum, Tanya led a school group called, Girls Club, where she supervised and led weekly activities for girls in grade seven and eight to overcome barriers, build confidence, and develop positive relationships. Tanya invited guest speakers from within the reserve to share resources with the students. Through these experiences, Tanya recognizes the importance of incorporating students’ perspectives and knowledge into lessons and school community in order to make learning meaningful and relatable. Tanya currently teaches high school for a private school in the North York area. She teacher history, geography, civics, careers, drama, and a few social science courses.

KEITH W.

Keith has just recently completed his Bachelor of Education at Brock University. He is qualified in the junior and intermediate divisions and can teach all subjects. Keith completed his undergrad at McMaster University where he majored in kinesiology. He has a passion for helping students learn and enjoys seeing students maximize their potential. Keith is committed to making learning engaging and enjoyable and hopes to help build life-long learners. Outside of school, Keith has a passion for sports, specifically baseball.

JULIA B.

Julia is an Ontario Certified Teacher who grew up in Toronto. She recently received her Master’s of Teaching degree from the University of Toronto where she also completed her Bachelors of Science in Biology. Julia has a passion for teaching STEM subjects and completed her research thesis on how to improve science teacher self-efficacy in elementary school teachers. Prior to completing her Master’s she worked for over 4 years in Taipei, Taiwan as a classroom teacher and developed a love for the country’s culture and food. Aside from classroom teaching, she has also taught SSAT prep and loves to help her students reach their academic goals. When Julia isn’t teaching, she loves biking and has done many long distance rides all over the world.
