Silya S.

Silya holds a Master of Architecture from the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design at the University of Toronto, where she developed a strong analytical skill set and a love for problem-solving. With a background that emphasizes precision, critical thinking, and clear communication, Silya is well-equipped to help students excel in subjects like math, science, and English.

With experience as a guest critic and mentor at Daniels Design Discovery Camp, Silya has honed her teaching approach, emphasizing patience, adaptability, and a focus on helping students grasp complex concepts with ease. She believes that learning should be engaging, encouraging her students to ask questions and discover their potential through exploration and creativity.

Silya has tutored a range of high school subjects, particularly math, science, and English, and brings a structured yet flexible approach to each session. Her students appreciate her ability to simplify challenging material and make connections that deepen understanding, especially in areas requiring analytical and critical thinking skills.

In addition to her passion for education, Silya enjoys exploring new places, boxing, and field hockey, which she brings as examples to create real-world connections in her lessons. Silya strives to inspire students to succeed academically and develop a lifelong curiosity for learning.

 

Maryam B.

Maryam is a third-year honors undergraduate student majoring in biochemistry at York University. She possesses both a strong foundation in STEM subjects and an eye for the arts. Maryam specializes in subjects including Mathematics, Science, Biology, Chemistry, French, English, History and Social Studies. Before she transferred to York University, Maryam earned first place among her peers in Calculus at the American University of Sharjah, UAE. Having lived in 14 international cities, and 6 countries, and traveled to 20+ countries, Maryam has become a vibrant mosaic of so many mesmerizing cultures. Moreover, she is fluent in 3 languages: English, French, and Arabic. Working as both a swim instructor and tutor for over 11 years now, Maryam excels at conveying knowledge in an engaging and digestible way. She is an approachable and patient educator, prioritizing the student’s engagement and understanding. Learning is an uncomfortable experience, and Maryam recognizes that students may feel afraid or intimidated. So she makes sure to accommodate students as best as possible while still challenging them and improving their abilities. Overall, Maryam is both a life-long learner and educator who is eager to push students to achieve their full academic potential and grow a newfound passion for knowledge.

 

 

Dominique B.

Dominique has finished his bachelor’s degree in History and is finishing his Master’s degree in History/Education. With this degree, Dominique will teach at Cegep’s level. He acquired a lot of experience with children and youth while working in day camps administration and YMCA’s community programs. He is now working in costumer service while serving as a historical consultant for various historians. He is eager to teach and help others in multiples fields, wether it is History, Geography, French or general research methods.

Dominique a terminé son baccalauréat en histoire et termine actuellement sa maîtrise en histoire/éducation. Avec ce diplôme, Dominique enseignera au niveau collégial. Il a acquis beaucoup d’expérience auprès des enfants et des jeunes en travaillant dans l’administration des camps de jour et dans les programmes communautaires du YMCA. Il travaille maintenant au service à la clientèle tout en agissant comme consultant historique pour divers historiens. Il a hâte d’enseigner et d’aider les autres dans de multiples domaines, que ce soit l’histoire, la géographie, le français ou les méthodes de recherches générales.

My name is Harman. I’m a dedicated educator with a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Winnipeg, specializing in English with a minor in Geography. I have experience teaching a variety of subject areas from kindergarten to grade 8. With six years of teaching experience, including two terms in grades 1 and 2, I bring a passion for fostering learning environments. I Currently, I’m actively involved in substitute teaching, committed to supporting students’ academic growth. My teaching style revolves around individualized instruction, recognizing and catering to each student’s unique strengths and learning preferences. I strive to create a personalized learning experience that nurtures their abilities and fosters a deep understanding of the subject matter. By tailoring my approach to each student, I aim to maximize their potential and instil a lifelong love for learning.

Alex has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in law where he graduated from the University of Montreal with distinction. As a professional, Alex tutors out of a passion for teaching, as he has been helping students succeed since 2012.

Stephanie is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BSc) at the University of Toronto, specializing in Human Biology with minors in Human Physiology and Italian. With a passion for healthcare and education, she has developed strong analytical and organizational skills through various roles in the medical and academic fields.
In addition to her medical experience and academic journey, Stephanie has a strong foundation in education, having tutored students in biology, chemistry, and math from grades 8 to 12. Her ability to simplify complex concepts has helped students improve their understanding and confidence in these subjects. Her diverse skill set, commitment to excellence, and passion for helping others make her a valuable asset in any healthcare or educational setting.

I am a cerified francophone teacher. I have helped students from preschool to university. I am currently completing my masters in intercultural studies focusing on Métis Francophone relations. I write for a paper in my spare time and currently am a grade 2 homeroom teacher.

 

 

 

Edi C.

Edi’s individualized approach encourages students to build confidence and achieve their academic potential. She has a degree in Honours Environmental Studies with Distinction. She excelled throughout her undergrad receiving recognition on the Dean’s Honour Role for each year of University and the Academic All Canadian Award for exceptional Academic Achievement while playing Varsity Lacrosse.

She has experience working as a Lead Outdoor Educator, an instructional assistant for a University Environmental Studies course, Coaching Lacrosse and facilitating English practice as a Tandem Language Partner. This passion for teaching and helping students has led to her current pursuit of a Bachelor of Education Degree at York University with Teachables in Biology and Geography. As part of her degree, Edi volunteers in a resource room helping high school students with all subjects including Math.

Prior to her pursuit of teaching, she utilized her skills in biology and environmental studies while she worked as a research assistant for the Health and Wellbeing Chapter of the 2022 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Report.
