Ali S.
Ali is an accomplished medical student, neuroscience researcher, and educator who is passionate about helping students build confidence while mastering challenging academic subjects. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Medicine degree at UT Health San Antonio’s Long School of Medicine with plans to specialize in neurology. Ali graduated with honors from Michigan State University, earning bachelor’s degrees in Neuroscience, Genomics & Molecular Genetics, and Spanish, while also completing the university’s Honors College program. Before beginning medical school, she spent two years as a full-time research fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) studying neurodegenerative diseases. Her research experience also includes work at Stanford University, Michigan State University, and UT Health San Antonio, where she continues to contribute to neuroscience and stroke research. Kaleb is a passionate science educator with a strong background in biology, healthcare, and hands-on scientific research. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California, San Diego, where he developed a deep appreciation for both scientific discovery and helping others learn. Today, he combines his enthusiasm for STEM with a student-centered teaching approach that makes even challenging concepts approachable and engaging.
While attending UC San Diego, Kaleb gained valuable laboratory experience as an undergraduate research intern, working on genetics and molecular biology projects involving DNA extraction, PCR analysis, DNA electrophoresis, cloning, and mosquito genetics. He later worked in healthcare at Scripps Health, supporting clinical research and patient care by assisting with clinical trials and handling research specimens. These experiences allow him to bring real-world scientific applications into every tutoring session, helping students see how the concepts they learn in class connect to exciting careers in medicine, research, and biotechnology.
Kaleb is currently serving as a substitute teacher in Seguin ISD while preparing to begin his teaching internship, allowing him to work with students in a variety of classroom settings and continue developing his instructional skills. Throughout high school and college, he also coached theater and improvisation groups, experiences that strengthened his communication skills and taught him how to create engaging, interactive learning environments where students feel comfortable asking questions and thinking creatively.

Alina M.
Alina is originally from Germany, where she taught German, Geography, Art, and Biology to students in grades 4–10 for eleven years. During her university studies, she completed several internships in different schools and also worked on a pediatric oncology ward, supporting children and teenagers as they prepared to return to school.
Alina recently moved to Canada with her husband and their two dogs and now teaches in the Sea to Sky School District. She brings patience, empathy, and strong organizational skills to her teaching, while providing thoughtful, individualized support to each student. Alina believes that learning takes perseverance and encourages her students with her motto: “Everything is difficult before it becomes easy.”
In her free time, Alina enjoys exploring the beautiful nature around Squamish with her dogs, crocheting, reading, and occasionally baking and cooking traditional German dishes.
Tessa H.
Tessa H. is a lifelong learner who became a teacher so she could grow personally and professionally. She loves meeting new people and sharing her interests with students while they solve problems together.
Tessa has taught everything from swim lessons for young children to college-level Geology labs to reading and math to elementary students with learning disabilities.
As an undergraduate at the University of Binghamton in New York, Tessa discovered her passion for science and the environment, which led to two bachelor’s degrees: one in Geology and one in Environmental Studies.
After graduating, her first “real job” was teaching reading and math to children with autism and other learning disabilities. Tessa enjoyed seeing her students grow so much that she stayed in that job for more than 7 years.

Meghan P.
EN: Meghan has an MA in History and a BA (double major) in Classics and International Development from McGill University. She is in the final stages of completing her PhD in History and Classics at Yale University. Meghan has published a number of articles in academic publications and presented her research at conferences around the world. With over 15 years of experience in higher education, Meghan is sympathetic to the pressures modern students face: difficulties in focus, wavering confidence, and the temptation of unethical AI use among others. Her career as an educator began early when she was appointed the youngest teaching assistant in her department while still an undergraduate, later securing a full-time faculty position at the University of the Virgin Islands before completing her PhD.
With over 20 years of teaching experience at institutions like the University of Florida, the University of South Florida, Miami Country Day School, and the Community School of Naples, Cynthia has taught a diverse range of students, including those with learning differences, in subjects such as physics, math, astronomy, and Spanish.
