Dylan Z.

Dylan Z. is a professional tutor living in New York City. He received his Bachelor degrees in Political Science and English from the University of Florida, and holds a Masters in Fine Arts with a concentration in Creative Writing from the New School. Dylan has tutored for several years at the Princeton Review where he specialized in AP World, European, and US History. M. Rubi

Rubi is your friendly neighborhood tutor with a notebook full of poems and a pocket full of educational tidbits. Rubi is a born and bred New Yorker and received her degrees from CUNY Hunter College with an emphasis in Literature. When she’s not tutoring, Rubi works as an elementary school Art Teacher in the South Bronx. Teaching her students weaving, fiber art, ceramics, paper-making and sculpture is one of the greatest sources of joy in her career.

Whether it’s slinging paint brushes or finding the right synonym for your essay, Rubi is here to make studying feel like a cozy chat with a buddy. She’s got a knack for tapping into what makes each student tick and tailoring their learning journey accordingly.

Rubi isn’t just a tutor; but a perpetual student herself, and finds delight in constantly learning new skills and adding more books to her library. Monisha B

Having travelled widely and worked in various countries as a professional as well as an entrepreneur, I wish to now pursue my true calling, helping young minds grow. My five years of experience as an English teacher followed by CELTA qualification in 2014 were steps in this direction.

Before this I have been a global Sales and Marketing executive with more than 20 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, and International Finance. I work well in fostering relationships and have a goal-oriented approach with an emphasis on a well-planned path towards the same.

Haley C.

Haley is a former Lead Teacher of five years with experience in elementary, middle, and high school classrooms, both in the U.S. and abroad. She grew up in rural Connecticut and graduated cum laude from Boston College in 2017, where she double majored in History and Psychology. Her love of travel and experiencing new cultures then led her to Thailand, where she earned a TEFL certification and taught several different subjects (including Global Studies, English Language Arts, and Elementary Science) over the course of four years. Most recently, she was an ELA teacher, History co-teacher, and tutor at a public charter school in Brooklyn, where she prepared students extensively for the New York Regents exams in ELA and History. Haley loves literature and makes it come alive with her students, and she is extremely effective at helping her students develop strong writing, language, and editing skills. Haley is a multiple-choice and study trick expert who tailors her tutoring instruction to each individual learner, adding a bit of humor along the way. In her spare time she explores her creative side as a freelance photographer, documenting the streets of NYC and wherever else she travels. She is also a mom—to an adorable Thai street cat named Goose!

 

 

Rebekah A.

Rebekah A. has an undergraduate degree in Anthropology and a Masters of Teaching from OISE. Rebekah fell in love with teaching during her 2 years as a TEFL certified English teacher in Munsan, Paju, Korea. When she returned to Canada she continued her education at OISE. Her pedagogy is student inquiry led and employs the UDL or Universal Design Learning process to support ELLs, those with accessibility needs and everyone that needs a bit of support to reach their goals.

Gowsiga T.

In 2011, Gowsi earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Political Science from York University. The following year, she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Human Rights and Equity Studies from the same institution. Seeking to deepen her expertise in human rights advocacy, Gowsi pursued and completed a Master of Arts in Immigration and Settlement Studies at Ryerson University in 2013. In 2019, she furthered her education, obtaining a Master of Teaching (Intermediate/Senior Level) from the University of Toronto (OISE).

Post-OISE graduation, Gowsi embarked on her teaching journey with notable institutions including the Toronto District School Board (TDSB), The Bishop Strachan School, and the University of Toronto Schools. Guided by a teaching philosophy emphasizing the creation of a nurturing and positive learning environment, she prioritizes tailored instruction that caters to individual learner needs and styles.

Lucas P.

Lucas is a Certified Teacher with the Toronto Catholic District School Board after graduating from York University with an Honours Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education in the Intermediate/Senior division. Following graduation, Lucas continues to hone his skills as an educator teaching in the senior division in different high schools as he supports his student’s development in essay writing, critical thinking, citations and other learning skills. Lucas believes in and values the individuality of each student and strives to tailor his teaching and tutoring methods to best fit the student at hand.

For over 5 years Lucas has devoted his time working in camps with the City of Toronto and volunteering in schools within the TCDSB where he has learned how to create positive learning environments and identify the strengths and weaknesses of each learner. In his spare time, Lucas enjoys the outdoors either hiking in provincial parks or playing golf with friends and family.

Natasha T.

Natasha T. a distinguished alumna of the University of Waterloo, graduated with Honours in Science, majored in Joint Psychology with a minor in Bioinformatics. She is currently making significant contributions to the field as an ABA/ Behaviour therapist, concurrently working towards a Masters in ABA therapy. Natasha excels in the specialized domain of supporting students with learning disabilities and atypical learning profiles.

With a passion for education, Natasha has demonstrated experience and expertise in teaching a wide array of subjects, spanning science, math, english, geography, and history, across various grade levels. Daniel H.

Daniel is a current BCL/JD candidate at the McGill Faculty of Law with a Master of Arts in Political Science from McGill University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Studies from Queen’s University. Specializing in humanities and the social sciences, Daniel brings a robust academic background to his tutoring endeavours where he has supported students in various social science disciplines such as law, political science, philosophy, sociology, history, and anthropology. MINA L.

Mina Lee graduated from Princeton University with honors and a degree in History. At Princeton, she was a Head Fellow at the Writing Center, where she worked with undergrads and graduate students across all disciplines on essays, applications, dissertations, and more. She’s been teaching the SAT in one-on-one and classroom settings (up to 35+ students in one class) for over five years. She also consults on and workshops college essays and applications.

Additionally, Mina has spent years tutoring a range of subjects, from math to English to history. Mina speaks Spanish proficiently and Korean conversationally.
