Kathryn H.

Kathryn H. is an experienced educator, learning specialist, and former intelligence professional who brings exceptional depth, structure, and insight to her work with students. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Texas at Austin, a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Mary Washington, and is currently completing her MBA at Harvard Business School.

Kathryn is an Orton-Gillingham Associate (dyslexia specialist) and holds a TEFL certification from Cambridge University, England. She spent over 10 years as an SAT and SAT II tutor and has taught students across all grade levels, now specializing in reading, writing, and executive functioning—particularly for neurodivergent learners with Dyslexia, ADHD, or Autism.

Prior to her career in education, Kathryn served for 20 years with the USMC and CIA, working at the Pentagon and spending several years in Iraq and Afghanistan as a Combat Operations Planner, an experience that deeply informs her calm, strategic, and highly individualized approach to learning. Known for building strong relationships and confidence in her students, Kathryn blends evidence-based instruction with real-world problem-solving.

Outside the classroom, she is a Le Cordon Bleu alumna who enjoys cooking, playing soccer, and horseback riding—proof that discipline, curiosity, and creativity can thrive side by side.

 

Zenab S.

Zenab is an Ontario Certified Teacher with over ten years of experience teaching and tutoring high school, undergraduate, and postgraduate students in Business, Economics, Finance, and related disciplines across Canada, the UAE, and India. She holds a Master of Arts in Education (Critical Policy, Equity, and Leadership Studies) from Western University, an MBA in Human Resources and Information Technology, and formal teaching qualifications in Business Studies and English. Zenab has taught in secondary schools, business institutes, and professional training environments, supporting students with coursework, exam preparation, academic writing, and applied problem-solving. Her teaching style is structured, analytical, and student-centred, with a strong emphasis on conceptual clarity, confidence building, and real-world application of knowledge. Drawing on her global experience and leadership background, Zenab builds strong learning relationships and helps students at both the high school and university levels achieve sustained academic success. Outside the classroom, she remains actively engaged in equity and leadership initiatives and enjoys mentoring students toward long-term academic and career goals.

 

Zach L.

Zachery Lundgren received his Ph.D. in Rhetoric, Writing, and Composition from East Carolina University. He also has an MFA from the University of South Florida, and a BA from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Zach has taught at the college level for seven years, and has tutored students from middle school to graduate school in a variety of subjects. His primary areas of expertise are English, Essay Writing, and Science.

When he isn’t teaching or tutoring, Zach loves hiking, camping, and backpacking in the Colorado backcountry. He is also an avid reader and has published a book of poetry: Turkey Vulture, published by Meadowlark Press.

Ava S.

Ava graduated from Western University with a Bachelor of Arts in Honours Specization History, a Minor in Music, and a Certificate in Italian. Ava is currently attending Western University’s Bachelor of Education program for Intermediate/Senior History and English. Ava has always had a passion for teaching! She began teaching private piano lessons at age 13, and has been uncertified supply teaching in the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic Board for the past four years. In her free time, Ava enjoys playing piano and volleyball, baking, reading, and travelling. Ava values engaging lessons, clear objectives, and student feedback in her instruction and is very excited to be a part of the Prep Academy Tutors team!

 

 

Liberty V.

Liberty is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science with a minor in Data Science. During her studies, she gained valuable experience tutoring Vietnamese international students preparing to study in the United States. Liberty taught middle and high school English, tailoring each lesson to students’ interests, goals, and English proficiency levels. She also provided targeted support with college admissions, AP coursework, and SAT preparation. Liberty is passionate about helping students build confidence in their skills, and she loves seeing them discover their own creative voice through reading, writing, and problem-solving. In her spare time, Liberty loves to read, travel, and play board games.

 

 

Alanna D.

Alanna is an OCT‑certified educator and experienced tutor who brings over eight years of expertise in early childhood and elementary education to Prep Academy Tutors. With a Master of Arts in Child Study & Education (in progress at the University of Toronto) and a strong academic foundation in Early Childhood Studies, Alanna specializes in helping learners build self-confidence, independence, and a genuine love for learning.
Alanna has taught and supported students in a wide range of settings that go beyond the classroom. She excels at adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs—whether supporting language and literacy through phonemic awareness and multimodal learning or guiding individualized math instruction and supporting students to find their voice across areas of curriculum.

Her tutoring approach is warm, relational, and highly individualized. Drawing on her background as both an educator and a former private tutor, Alanna collaborates closely with families to create customized learning plans that honor each child’s strengths, interests, and developmental needs. She uses tools such as anecdotal notes, checklists, photos, and student work samples to track progress and ensure her instruction is responsive and meaningful.

Beyond her classroom and tutoring experience, Alanna has worked extensively in enrichment settings, including STEM‑based programming, creative arts learning, and physical activity programs. She is passionate about fostering confidence, curiosity, and resilience in every learner she works with.

Alanna believes deeply in inclusive, equitable education and strives to create learning environments where every child feels seen, supported, and capable. In her free time Alanna is passionate about fitness, health and wellness. As a personal trainer she aspires to open a children’s gym for typically developing as well as neuro-divergent children in her future. Margaret V.

My name is Margaret V. I graduated from Johnson State College in Vermont with a BA in History and secondary teaching certificate. I have a Masters in Educational leadership from St. Mary’s University. I have taught for 30 years from elementary school to professional facilitator for training. As an academic tutor, I enjoy helping students understand challenging material and gain confidence in their abilities. I focus on clear explanations, practical strategies, and personalized support to help students succeed in coursework, exams, and writing assignments. My goal is to make learning less stressful and more empowering.

 

 

Christian R.

Christian R. is a dedicated educator to both neurotypical and neurodiverse children. She graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University, earning a bachelor’s degree in history. Throughout the pandemic, she supported early childhood students, guiding them swiftly through a critical time. Christian has experience working with students on the autism spectrum, utilizing adaptive tools to ensure the quality of their education. Christian has taught multiple subjects, all tailored to each child’s needs, including elementary math, ELA, social studies, and even handwriting. She loves to implement the creative arts in her lessons and encourages students to express themselves through their work.

 

Molly C.

Molly O’Callaghan graduated from the University of Toronto, where she completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts. She double majored in English and History, and minored in Classical Studies. Molly participated in many leadership positions and dedicated much of her time to the universities Literal Change chapter, an organization that supplies literacy materials to incarcerated populations. Her studies ranged from Indigenous history and literature, medieval Europe, Japanese and Korean history, ancient literature, and modern literature. Name an era- she can provide you with an anthology of it’s most notable literary works. It’s a fun party trick.

With nearly five years of tutoring experience, Molly has worked with students ranging from elementary school to university. She specializes in essay planning and writing, as well as reading comprehension, aiming to build students’ confidence by meeting them where they are at and guiding them toward their academic goals.  She has taught ENG4U (High school University English) online for student’s trying to get head in their academic journey.   Her philosophy for tutoring is to be inclusive, accessible, and facilitate a kind, engaging and safe space for all students who she encounters. School is tough. Molly will help ease those stresses and help students make progress simultaneously.  She is certified to teach English as a second language, has volunteered her time to support literacy in marginalized communities, and works full-time in educational travel.
