Angeliki has a DEC from Dawson College in Child Studies. She is currently getting her Bachelor’s degree in Kindergarten/Elementary Education from McGill University. Passionate about her love of teaching, she sought out tutoring to offer help and guidance. Having completed her first field experience as a Student Teacher, she is ready to take this next step towards assisting students in mastering their lessons, deepening their understanding and achieving their academic goals. She strives to make learning engaging and personalized for students. Mia has a Bachelor of Education degree from McGill University.

She has worked for one year as a teacher at St. George’s Elementary School and is currently in her second year of teaching at Solomon Schechter Academy.

Her specialties include English and math for students at the elementary level. In addition, she has worked as a student teacher at Lower Canada College and Akiva where she supported the teacher’s objectives, planned, prepared and implemented original lessons and activities.

Mia believes that there is not a “one size fits all” approach when it comes to teaching would like her students to feel welcome and safe from judgment. She understands the need for differentiation and always tries to integrate multiple learning styles and techniques in her teaching.

Marisa T.

Marisa is a dedicated tutor and accomplished student currently pursuing a double major in Political Science and Economics at McGill University. With a strong academic foundation and a passion for education, Marisa has honed her expertise across a wide range of subjects, including Math, English, Economics, and History.

Her teaching experience is rooted in years of involvement with academic clubs, debating, and leadership roles, including participation in Model UN and organizing TEDx events. Janella S-R

Janella holds a Bachelor’s degree with Honors in Environmental Sciences and a specialization in Wildlife Biology from McGill University. She is a recipient of the prestigious McCall MacBain International Fellowship, through which she spent two years in South Korea. During this time, she developed advanced Korean language skills, translated at science exhibitions, and taught English fluency to students.

With over four years of tutoring experience at the elementary level, as well as several years assisting high school and college students in mathematics and science-based courses, Janella has honed her ability to make complex subjects accessible and engaging. She utilizes practical, relatable, and enjoyable methods to ignite curiosity and a passion for learning in her students.

Janella also holds a TEFL certification and brings additional expertise in scientific writing, research, and proofreading. Her strong foundation in science subjects, combined with her experience in language education, allows her to provide well-rounded support to students across various academic levels.

Whether working with young learners or college students, Janella is committed to helping each student achieve their academic goals and develop a deeper appreciation for the subjects she teaches.

Ollie J.

Ollie is currently studying Environmental and Sustainability Sciences (Biology) at Concordia University. He graduated John Abbott College on the honour roll, having completed two internships in environmental science research. He has experience tutoring learners from the elementary to the CEGEP level across a wide variety of subjects.

Ollie is committed to making every student feel welcome. As someone who has struggled with executive functioning, he has personal experience learning how to build routines and study effectively. Ollie believes that teaching learners to work with their unique brains is key to building long-lasting academic habits.

In his free time, Ollie enjoys crocheting, sewing, and embroidery. He also plays the drums!

Emma D.

Emma is a certified intermediate/senior teacher who specializes in teaching English and French (FSL). Emma earned her honours Bachelor of Arts in English language and literature and French studies (2021), and her Bachelor of Education at Western University (2023). She first developed her passion for literature during her time in high school and has been an avid reader since. Emma was very successful throughout her undergraduate degree. She was awarded both the Parents Fund Award and the Alumni Gold Medal for her high academic standing and her dedication to helping her community. Emma has dedicated much of her time as a substitute teacher. She worked for the Thames Valley District School Board and the York Region District School Board during her time in Ontario. Since moving to Montreal this summer, Emma is currently working as a substitute teacher for the English Montreal School Board. Emma has lots of experience working as a teacher in high schools and elementary schools. As well, she has lots of experience tutoring various ages/levels (K-12) and subjects. Emma is even certified in the Orton-Gillingham remedial literacy methodology. She has lots of experience working with students with special learning needs (gifted, students with Dyslexia, ADHD, etc.). Emma is dedicated to helping students and giving back to the community, which is why she has decided to pursue teaching as a career.
