Beverlyn J.
Beverlyne J. is a mathematics and chemistry educator from Kenya.
As a child, Beverlyne had a strong interest in problem-solving and science, which led her to study higher math and chemistry and pursue a career in teaching and research.
She received her B.Ed. in Mathematics and Chemistry and her MS in Applied Mathematics from the University of Nairobi, in Kenya. She did her postgraduate studies at Uppsala University in Sweden.
She has taught math and chemistry at several different levels: lecturing at the University of Nairobi, serving as the head of the Mathematics Department at the Jaffery Academy (Nairobi), and working as a lecturer/tutor for private clients.
Outside the classroom, she enjoys playing badminton, conducting research in mathematical modeling, and mentoring young scholars in STEM.
Her goal is to make mathematics meaningful and accessible, and help students build the confidence and critical-thinking skills that apply outside the classroom.
Harish R.

Zahra S.
With a passion for the science and chemistry and over 10 years of teaching experience at secondary and post-secondary levels, Zahra brings a wealth of knowledge to the learning sessions. Zahra holds PhD in Chemical Engineering from Universite Laval in Quebec, author of numerous research publications, recipient of Vanier Graduate Scholarship provided by NSERC and is currently in the last year of Teaching Education Program at Brock University becoming Ontario Certified Teacher soon. She has significant experience in teaching chemistry at very high level of satisfaction reported by her students for both regular Ontario curriculum and IB and AP programs. She has been working with students of varying age and background both in public and private systems in Ontario. She works to accommodate all with differentiated instruction based on individual’s needs and preferences in an equitable and responsive environment. Her teaching philosophy centers on making chemistry accessible and exciting for all students, fostering both academic growth and curiosity. She has also catered various students for chemistry and science tutoring in one-in one based on each student’s need. She is a dedicated teacher helping students foster their self-confidence and learning potential to reach high academic achievement and ownership of their learning.
Brian J.
Brian is a UBC Engineering student who has a great understanding of the BC curriculum. He took an International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in grades 11 and 12.
He ran clubs that required him to teach Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. Brian is confident in his Mathematics. He won the Pascal and Cayley Math Contests awards medals and several papers of distinction. However, it is important to note that Brian’s target audience is not limited to high school students. Brian peer tutored in middle school. He has experience teaching mathematics to grades 6 to 8 as well. Brian can teach Chemistry as well and achieved the highest score for the Chemistry Avogadro Exam in his school. He can cover a wide range of topics in greater depth, including Stoichiometry, Molecular Structure & Bonding, Periodicity, Acids and Bases, Electrochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Equilibrium, Chemical Kinetics, Thermodynamics, and more. Brian’s target audience for Chemistry is students in grades 9 to 12.
Brian is capable of teaching Physics. He won fourth place in Quizzics, held during the Physics Olympics on March 9th, 2024. The list of topics he can teach includes Kinematics, Dynamics, Energy, Momentum, Electromagnetism, Thermodynamics, Simple Harmonic Motion, Wave Phenomena, and more. Brian’s target audience for Physics is students in grades 9 to 12.
CYNTHIA Z.
Cynthia grew up in Calgary, and moved to Toronto almost 10 years ago. She studied at McGill University receiving a Bachelors Degree in Economics and Finance. She’s spent her entire career working in commercial real estate, working in both lending and development.
Her interest in teaching started since she went to university- tutoring for a private company in Calgary during her summer’s back from school, and eventually in Toronto for Prep Academy.
Cynthia really enjoys the collaboration between student, parent and teacher and the witnessing the progress made in each student she teaches. Much like the relationships she fosters in her daily 9-5, she brings the same energy, excitement, and trust with her to students and their families. She strives to ensure that her students come out of the sessions more confident, and interested in the material.
