Brian J.

Brian is a first-year UBC Engineering student who recently graduated from New Westminster Secondary School. He has a great understanding of the BC curriculum. He took an International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in grades 11 and 12. He ran clubs that required him to teach Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics.

Brian is confident in his Mathematics. He won the Pascal and Cayley Math Contests awards medals and several papers of distinction. However, it is important to note that Brian’s target audience is not limited to high school students. Brian peer tutored in middle school. He has experience teaching mathematics to grades 6 to 8 as well.

Brian can teach Chemistry as well. Brian achieved the highest score for the Chemistry Avogadro Exam in his school. He can cover a wide range of topics in greater depth, including Stoichiometry, Molecular Structure & Bonding, Periodicity, Acids and Bases, Electrochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Equilibrium, Chemical Kinetics, Thermodynamics, and more. Brian’s target audience for Chemistry is students in grades 9 to 12.

Brian is capable of teaching Physics. He won fourth place in Quizzics, held during the Physics Olympics on March 9th, 2024. The list of topics he can teach includes Kinematics, Dynamics, Energy, Momentum, Electromagnetism, Thermodynamics, Simple Harmonic Motion, Wave Phenomena, and more. Brian’s target audience for Physics is students in grades 9 to 12.

Haisam Z.

Haisam is an Ontario Certified Teacher. He grew up in the Middle East, and moved to Canada when he was 14. He completed his schooling and attained his Bachelors of Science and Education from Western University and U of T in 2013 and 2015, respectively. He is confident that he has the skills and qualifications as well as the passion to work with high school students. Having worked as a high school teacher since 2016, from private schools such as Blyth Academy and Burlington Royal Arts Academy, and several international high schools while abroad in the U.K., followed by securing a position as a teacher within the York Region and Simcoe County district school boards where he works currently, Haisam feels that his past work experience would make him an ideal candidate to provide one on one instruction as a high school tutor. Haisam has continually tutored high schoolers which has further helped him realize the beauty of inspiring and motivating others to be the best they can be, and it has convinced him that the teaching profession is his passion. As a teacher, Haisam seeks to ignite the passion and innate curiosity within the students to want to learn by instilling within them the desire for self-discovery. Once instilled and the interest is developed, he guides and facilitates the students’ personal journey of self-discovery. This passion is what would drive them towards an enduring learning experience. Furthermore, he’s a firm believer in developing a rapport with students to make every moment of their time during his teaching as comfortable and welcoming as possible. Haisam is also an avid fan and practitioner of several sports such as amateur wrestling, boxing, mixed martial arts, track and field, and badminton.  As a tutor, Haisam can help students ace their performance in sciences and mathematics, and also help them be better athletes as a bonus! After all, health  is our greatest wealth and so a healthy body is a healthy mind


Shivani J.

Shivani Jain is passionate about helping students excel in math and science. She has 13 years of experience working with middle-school, high-school, and college students.

Shivani has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in math, physics, and chemistry — as well as a master’s degree in International Business.

She is an ideal math tutor for students in algebra 1 and 2, geometry, trigonometry, calculus (1, 2, AP, AB, and BC), physics, and chemistry. In addition, Shivani thrives on helping middle- and high-school students prepare for Mathcounts and AMC 8/10 competitions.

The belief that everyone has the potential to excel in math and science is what drives Shivani’s dedication to helping her students reach their full potential.

In her spare time, Shivani likes to go out on walks, hikes, enjoy nature, dance, and cook.

AISHA G.

Aisha is a second-year industrial engineering student at the University of Toronto. She is also doing a minor in business. For the past 3 years, she has tutored high school students in various subjects; primarily math and science. She has also been tutoring two autistic students for the past 2 years. She has completed the SAT with 1510/1600, and she also completed the IB curriculum successfully (42/45).

Aisha has a very positive and motivating approach when it comes to tutoring. She understands that some topics may be easier and some might be hard. Therefore, she uses an analytical approach to understand where the student struggles and uses positive language and demeanor to fully support the student. She also communicates with the student’s parents regularly and provides feedback. To her, tutoring is a triangle between the tutor, the student, and the parents.

In her free time, she enjoys horse riding and hanging out with her friends. She also loves playing tennis and working out.
