Mathew M.
Mathew holds a Master of Education from National University, Master of Arts in Psychology from San Diego State University, and is a California credentialed mathematics teacher. He has taught Integrated Math at the high school level and has several years of experience as an adjunct psychology professor at Cuyamaca College, where he teaches both college and dual-enrollment students. His background in both mathematics and psychology gives him a unique perspective on how students learn and build confidence.
Mathew believes that every student is capable of succeeding in math with the right support and encouragement. He strives to create a positive, low-pressure learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Rather than simply teaching students how to get the right answer, he focuses on helping them understand the “why” behind mathematical concepts so they can become independent, confident problem-solvers. Whether a student is catching up, preparing for an exam, or looking to get ahead, Mathew tailors each session to fit their individual learning style and goals.
Outside of teaching, Mathew enjoys exercising, cooking, traveling, reading, and discovering new restaurants around San Diego. He also loves cheering on San Diego sports teams and is always happy to share book, movie, or travel recommendations with his students.
