Taylor P.
Taylor has worked in a variety of fields, including medical research, public aquariums, skateboard stores, and currently, he is working as a teacher. Before working for the TDSB, Taylor taught ESL for a number of years. Having learned French at a young age and Italian during his undergraduate studies, he found he really enjoyed helping people to learn and build skills in a second language. Taylor also worked for Dalhousie University, as well as Ripley’s Aquarium in Toronto. Fun fact: He has swam in most of the large tanks in the aquarium!
Taylor likes helping people because it is an engaging and interesting challenge. He’s worked with a variety of students with different needs, and is prepared with a variety of strategies to help students achieve their goals. He enjoys creating material that relevant to an individual’s personal life or experiences. Sometimes that means creating games that reflect the subject matter; sometimes it means explaining things in terms that make sense to the individual. Taylor enjoys helping people to feel more confident about their education by figuring out what works best for them, and creating learning material based on their needs.

AMY C.
Amy graduated in April of 2021 from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts and a Double Major in French and Philosophy, as well as a Minor in Italian and Cultural Studies. She is currently a teacher candidate at OISE/University of Toronto Master of Teaching program and will complete her Masters in 2023. Amy has worked with students of all ages in academic, athletic, and extracurricular environments. This past year she was given the opportunity to teach within the YCDSB as an elementary school teacher. It has provided her with much joy and valuable teaching experience. Her role required her to adapt accordingly, being able to time manage, organize efficiently, create a safe, fun, and educational space for her many students, and provide diversified methods of learning as every child retains knowledge at a different capacity. Amy can tutor French & Math at primary/junior levels as well as French, English, Philosophy and Italian to secondary levels. It is Amy’s goal to aid every child in the success of their learning. She strives to not only help students improve on an academic level but allow them to dig deeper and realize their capabilities.
RAFFAELE B.
I am a high school vice principal, teacher and instructional coach specializing in Mathematics and Physics. I bring 20 years of teaching experience in high school math, empowering kids to gain confidence and improve their mathematical ability so that they can become life-long learners confident to handle the challenges of the work place, or post- secondary education.
I specialize in provincial exam prep (Pre-Calc and Applied 12) but am willing to work in any level of math.
I have many hobbies including sports (hockey, golf, basketball), learning languages (I am self taught in Italian and Greek), and music (I play guitar).
JOSEPHINE L.
Josephine Logan is a veteran Italian teacher of over 20 years. She graduated from the University of Delaware with a dual degree in Italian and International Studies and holds a Master’s degree in multicultural education from Iona College. She enjoys sharing her love of the language and culture with others and teaching them all that makes Italian so wonderful! In her spare time she enjoys reading, shopping and spending time with her three kids.
CHRISTINA G.
While completing her undergraduate studies at McGill, Christina tutored on behalf of the Sociology department, preparing students for upcoming exams and assignments. As well, Christina volunteered at the essay writing center, where she edited and assisted students with papers.
Christina is passionate about literacy and believes that skills in reading and writing are fundamental to success in any subject. She has worked extensively with students with developmental and processing problems, working to help the students overcome difficulties and obstacles. She is trained and very experienced in SAT and SSAT preparation as well as assisting students with writing personal statements of excellence. She teaches students studying skills, test-taking strategies, and how to overcome test-related anxiety. As well, Christina specializes in preparing students to transition from public to private schools. Her preparation is exhaustive, including test-taking prep, interview prep for the student, and interview prep for the parents.
Christina believes in developing and fostering relationships with each student to create a comfortable environment that allows the students to flourish and learn. She is a firm advocate for different learning styles and tries to incorporate a variety of techniques that deviate from standardized education, as she considers each student’s learning style to be unique and accommodable.
Daniela M.
Daniela is an Ontario Certified Teacher with a baccalauréat en éducation (Francophone Bachelor of Education) from the University of Ottawa. She graduated magna cum laude from York University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Specialized Honours French Studies. A portion of her studies included a term in Quebec and a semester abroad in the Rhone-Alpes region of France.
Having also completed her primary studies within the Francophone school system and an Extended French program at the secondary level, Daniela is perfectly fluent in both French and English. Daniela’s language skills have allowed her to pursue a multitude of work, volunteer and travel opportunities, and connect with people across the world to gain more of a global perspective.
Daniela’s background in childcare and education spans over more than a decade. She has experience working with children and youth as a recreation worker. Daniela has volunteered and worked with Francophone students, as well as those learning French in Core, Extended and Immersion programs. Recently, she designed and conducted virtual activity sessions to engage with children in an online environment, worked with a not-for-profit in the education sector, and currently works in outdoor education.
Daniela approaches each interaction with positivity, patience and empathy. She endeavours to foster personal growth and strives to see students reach their full potential.
Monique G.
Monique Gargiulo is an Ontario Certified Teacher. She grew up in Toronto Ontario where she completed an Undergraduate Degree. Monique graduated from York University with an International Bachelor Degree in Liberal Arts and Professional Studies in English and Italian Studies with Honours. Ever since she was a little girl Monique knew she wanted to be a teacher, she decided to pursue teaching as a career and completed a Bachelor of Education at Niagara University in the Intermediate/Senior grade levels. She then continued her studies and went on to complete additional qualifications for Primary/Junior grade levels and a specialization in Special Education. Soon after graduation, Monique was hired by the York Catholic District School Board where she continues to work today. Monique believes that engaging students using their curiosity and interests is crucial in helping them gain the confidence they require to succeed. Monique believes that by building a strong relationship with her students she is better able to meet their needs and ensure they are successful. As a teacher Monique continues to develop strategies for working with children and young adults. She has a passion for helping others and enjoys all of her teaching experiences because they are unique and rewarding in their own way.
Monique grew up with a deep love of travel and adventure and took the opportunity to work abroad at the Canadian School of Milan for a year. This was an incredible experience as it allowed Monique to immerse into a different culture and teach a wide multitude of students. It is through teaching that Monique has been able to foster her love of Health and Fitness. During the summer months, Monique taught Zumba and nutrition at a fitness camp at UCSD in San Diego, California. She got to work with children from 8-16 and helped them to reach their full potential and fitness goals. Together they hiked, learned how to surf, and enjoyed bonfires on the beach. In her spare time Monique is the captain of a volleyball league and is very passionate about the sport. Monique also enjoys cooking and baking, as well as spending time with her friends and family.
