Umar A.
Umar is a certified teacher with over three years of classroom experience and is qualified to teach across all elementary divisions. He has taught students in every elementary grade and previously taught science and mathematics at a private high school, where he developed a strong ability to explain complex concepts in clear and engaging ways.
Umar holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Education from Tyndale University. His teaching philosophy focuses on building confidence, fostering curiosity, and creating a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to take risks and grow as learners.
Umar was drawn to tutoring after seeing the powerful impact personalized academic support can have on student success. He works closely with students to strengthen foundational skills, deepen their understanding of key concepts, and develop effective study habits. Whether helping students catch up, keep up, or get ahead, Umar strives to make learning both meaningful and enjoyable.
Outside of teaching, Umar enjoys staying active, working out with his brother, and spending time with his two young children while embracing the adventures of new dad life.
Jordon B.
Jordon is in her final semester of teachers’ college at Lakehead University in Orillia, specializing in Geography and Environmental Science. She is qualified to teach all subjects up to the Grade 10 level and has experience supporting students across a variety of classroom settings and subject areas.
She is passionate about helping students build confidence, develop strong learning habits, and work toward their academic goals. Having seen first-hand the positive impact that one-to-one support can make, Jordon looks forward to working closely with students and families to provide personalized, supportive tutoring that meets each learner where they are.
Outside of academics, Jordon has a strong love for sports and the outdoors. In her free time, she enjoys playing volleyball, skiing, reading, practicing yoga, and leading canoe trips during the summer months. This passion for active, outdoor learning often carries over into her teaching approach, helping students stay engaged, motivated, and curious.
