Laurie F.
Laurie Font is an experienced science educator with over 20 years of teaching and tutoring experience in biology, chemistry, environmental science, and middle school science. She holds a B.S. in Applied Biology from Southeastern Louisiana University and an M.S. in Natural Science from Louisiana State University, graduating with honors from both programs. She is ESL certified and completed the Teach BR Alternative Certification Program.
Laurie currently teaches AP Environmental Science and has served as an AP Environmental Science Exam Reader and Table Leader for the College Board for over a decade. In addition to classroom teaching, she has worked as a science summer camp instructor, curriculum writer, environmental education consultant, and volunteer coordinator for a local animal welfare organization.
She has been recognized as Magnet School Teacher of the Year (Region 5) and a Green Ribbon School educator, and she has presented at regional and national science education conferences. Laurie is passionate about helping students build confidence, improve study skills, and master challenging science concepts through personalized instruction.
Monika S.
Monika is an experienced educator and former high school Spanish teacher with more than 15 years of experience helping students build confidence and achieve academic success. She has also served as a College Readiness Coach, guiding students as they develop the skills and strategies needed to succeed both in the classroom and beyond.
Spanish was Monika’s first language, a result of growing up in a military family and experiencing a wide range of cultures from an early age. This background gives her not only strong language fluency but also meaningful cultural insight that she brings to every lesson, helping students connect more deeply with the language and its real-world context.
Monika is passionate about helping students experience those powerful “aha” moments when a concept finally clicks. She tailors each tutoring session to the individual student’s strengths and learning style, creating a supportive, engaging environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, take risks, and grow in confidence.
Outside of education, Monika enjoys traveling, gardening, exploring new cultures and cuisines, and spending time outdoors with her husband, friends, and her dog.
O. Cash
Mr. Cash is from Atlanta, Ga and Virginia. He earned his Bachelors’ Degree in Biology from Morehouse College and his Masters’ Degree in Food and Nutritional Sciences from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. He’s served as an educator for 8+ years, including as a middle school teacher (in-person and virtually), a virtual high school teacher, an adjunct professor, a tutor and a coach. Mr. Cash specializes in science, math, food and nutrition, and a firm gentle approach; as an educator, he enjoys embracing challenges with care and support. When Mr. Cash isn’t tutoring, he’s most likely covered in soil (he’s a farmer) or paint/clay/wood shavings/etc. (he’s an artist), or he’s deeply engaged with ideas and creative expressions (he’s an avid explorer, learner, and thinker).
Sara S.
Sara is an experienced educator with over 18 years of teaching expertise across diverse educational settings. She studied at both Rutgers University and Kean University, where she strengthened her foundation in child development and instructional practice. Sara has taught in the public school system for 13 years, spent two years in a Montessori environment, supported a family through a year of private homeschooling, and most recently founded and operated her own homeschool program for the past two years.
Sara specializes in supporting early learners from Kindergarten through Grade Five, with a particular passion for teaching children to read and developing strong foundational math skills. Her approach blends structure, patience, and warmth, allowing her to meet each child where they are and help them build confidence through personalized, engaging instruction.
Beyond her professional work, Sara is a devoted mother who loves spending time with her children, exploring nature, and caring for animals. Her long-term dream is to one day create an animal sanctuary—a reflection of her nurturing spirit both inside and outside the classroom.
Dr. Hazel R.
“Dr. Hazel”, a talented & vivacious educator, is excited about Teaching & Training you to be at “Your Best”. Her certifications include: Science, Physical Education, Adapted PE & Spanish for K-12 grades and adults.
Her professional teaching experience started in 2008. Her professional career as an actor, which includes print campaigns, Musicals, Television, and commercials, started at the age of 12. She has taught and worked in Chicago, California, and now Louisiana. Dr. Hazel holds an AA in Mortuary Science, a BAS in Criminal Justice, an MEd in Educational Leadership, and an EdS in Educational Administration.

Hi, I’m Muskaan, a graduate student in Bioengineering at Rice University with a strong interdisciplinary foundation in bioinformatics, biology, chemistry, and mathematics. Her love for children and the desire to share knowledge made her choose the career interest in teaching. Sherry P.
Sherry is a dedicated teacher and reading intervention specialist with an extensive background, experience, and training in educational settings. Her expertise includes Wilson Language Training Fundations, developing and implementing literacy, based programs for early childhood, elementary, teens and adults.
Sherry is an experienced Connecticut state certified teacher and certified Child Life Specialist. She is a graduate of Wheelock (a teacher’s college) in Boston, MA. with both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Education. In addition, her dual majors include training in pediatric hospital settings where she worked as a teacher and play therapist. Sherry has worked with children from newborn-young adults in urban and suburban communities. For over 25 years she has taught numerous grades including pre-k., kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school students in public, private school classrooms and health care settings.
Sherry is conversant in Spanish and has been a mentor to others. In her caring, patient, organized, dedicated manner, her ability to apply practical, best-practice solutions with available resources will ensure each student has the skills necessary to succeed. She believes that every child is capable of learning. Sherry goes the extra mile to support them in a positive manner to help them reach their full potential and develop self-confidence as learners. Her experience with students includes: the general education population, autism, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, ADD, ADHD, medically homebound, social emotional behavior difficulties, physically challenged, executive functioning skills and English language learners.
In her spare time Sherry can be found baking banana bread, singing Soprano in her choir, and playing with her rescue cats, Louie and Sugar.
