SAMUEL D.
Sam is currently pursuing a PhD in Mathematics from York University, following a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Master of Arts in Mathematics at the same institution. He is a tutor with over eight years of experience teaching quantitative subjects at the middle school, high school and university levels. He works as a teaching assistant in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, where he gives support to small groups of students in early undergraduate mathematics and grades tests and assignments. Between analyzing data about Mersenne number factors in a distributed computing project and staying active, Sam sets aside time to learn new mathematics on a regular basis. He hopes to communicate not just his techniques, but his passion for and philosophical approach to mathematics to every one of his students.
VINI O.
Vini has a degree in Electrical Engineering. During university, he specialized in programming and logic. He worked with software consultancy for a while and now he is pursuing a degree in Game Development. For the past 18 months, Vini has been using his industry experience and his knowledge of math and programming to instruct kids and teenagers in robotics. During his work with robotics, he developed a great way to communicate with young minds and started tutoring not only so he could help kids boost their grades, but also so he can improve their creative thinking and get them to achieve their full potential. Always in a good mood and with good energy, Vini is constantly trying to improve in order to share his knowledge with his students in an efficient way. In his spare time, Vini likes to play video games and watch sports, which means he can have a fun ice-breaking conversation after every tutoring session with both student and parents about the latest video game released or the latest football game.
ARYAN G.
Aryan is a recent graduate from McMaster University with a degree in Health Sciences. Currently, continuing with his interest, he is applying to medical school and hopes to stay in Toronto. Aryan’s passion for tutoring dates back to high school, where he started as a volunteer for Harbord Collegiate’s tutoring centre. From there, Aryan decided to pursue a private tutoring business on his own, coming up with personalized study material and strategies for students mostly referred to him by his teachers. Upon moving to Hamilton to start university, Aryan spent 4 years volunteering for Frontier College, tutoring children age 6-11, mostly focusing on reading comprehension and writing skills. He also managed to tutor his peers in university-level courses he had experience with. In his 4th year, Aryan was hired to be a Teaching Assistant for the second year Health, Attitude, and Behaviour course within his program. As the Health Sciences program focuses on self-directed learning, Aryan gained professional experience in facilitating a teaching style that engages students directly with their own learning and success. From early on, Aryan has been able to develop a personalized model for each of his students. He has always been receptive to feedback and strived to formulate his teaching style in the best way that suits his students’ concerns. In his spare time, Aryan enjoys playing and watching soccer. As a music enthusiast, he also spends time playing the guitar.
AMANDA V.
Amanda obtained her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering from Carleton University. She has been tutoring students in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) subjects for several years for students between Grades 6 and 12. She has also volunteered for Girls Learning Code, a summer camp program geared towards introducing coding to young children. She has also worked with teachers within the Toronto District School Board to help along with the coding curriculum. In her spare time, she likes to hike, train in kick boxing and gymnastics, read, and travel.
DIVYA S.
Divya recently graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science in Geoscience, GIS, and Psychology. She completed a teaching assistant position at the University of Toronto in the Earth History, Mineralogy, and Petrology. During the summer months, Divya has worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Toronto, providing students as well as professors assistance with creating visuals, simplifying articles, editing scientific articles. She has an open perspective, and is adaptive in her methods of solving problems. She is currently working towards expanding her technical skill set by participating in a data science program.She enjoys collecting minerals, 3D printing, reading, and swimming. Along with an affinity for science, Divya has a passion for math, taking electives in calculus, statistics, and linear algebra. She has also participated in several of the University of Waterloo Mathematical Competitions.
MADHUR R.
DONALD R.
Don Rowsell is a seasoned teacher with 27 years experience. Aside from teaching for the Toronto District School Board he has taught college and university math. In addition he spent several years editing and authoring math textbooks that have been used in classrooms all over North America. He loves to teach, saying “There’s never a dull moment”, and he is thoroughly addicted to learning, with five academic degrees and no intention of stopping. In his spare time, Don is a jazz piano player and uses his talents wherever there is need, including local gigs and working with choirs that have performed in Canada and the United States. For extra-curricular involvement in the schools in which he has taught he has worked on African Heritage month, talent shows, tutoring clinics, literacy initiatives and he has coached soccer.
HARDEEP S.
Hardeep is a graduate of University of Toronto with a degree in Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc) in Chemical Engineering. He also holds a Certificate in Engineering Business with a focus on Financial Accounting and Corporate Finance. He currently works as a Financial Controller at Labatt Breweries. Teaching is Hardeep’s one of many passions which he has been pursuing since Grade 12. His teaching style has evolved into a personalized student-centred approach which makes learning difficult concepts easier and fun. In his free time, Hardeep loves to read mystery novels, cook extravagant dinners for his friends and travel to the Cottage country (weather permitting).
ATHI S.
Athi is a recent graduate from the University of Toronto, having completed his Honours Bachelor of Science in Conservation, Human Biology and Geoscience. As you can tell, he’s quite the STEAM fan and has shared his education by working at the Ontario Science Centre for the past 10 years! He is currently a Host Scientist and Science Educator, delivering curriculum-connected science and math programs to both the general public and school groups. You might also see him in Ministry of Education videos and hopes to be the next Bill Nye! He has been with Prep Academy Tutors since 2018, focusing on tutoring and helping students understand and excel in the maths and sciences. He knows firsthand that confidence in the course and balance are key factors in reaching success and is eager to help his students master those same skills! In his spare time, he enjoys playing chess, creating art with photography and furthering science literacy!

Greetings! My name is Ron and I am currently a Teacher Candidate earning my Bachelor of Education at University of Ontario Institute of Technology. My teachable subjects include Mathematics and General Science, however I am also well-versed in Physics and Computer Science. I achieved a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics during my undergrad at Ryerson University, touching upon all applications of Mathematics.
I have a strong passion for mathematics and physics, and have experience tutoring all subjects of mathematics for all ages. I am approachable, friendly, understanding, and easy to get along with, making the learning more personal and relatable for the learner.
