Bruce M.

Bruce is an experienced educator with over 30 years of teaching and tutoring across academic subjects including math, science, writing, history, and geography. He’s helped students at all levels improve understanding, raise grades, and boost scores on standardized tests like the SAT, ACT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, GED, AP exams, Regents, ASVAB, and Civil Service tests. He’s served as an Adjunct Professor for over 30 years at several colleges, and also taught with The Princeton Review and Kaplan, bringing proven test-prep strategies to his students. In addition to 20 years of private tutoring, he spent 5 years with Science Adventures, running after-school science programs and summer camps plus 6 years at Treasure Island Day Camp in charge of all Nature programs.
His professional background includes more than two decades at Brookhaven National Lab, as well as technical and management roles at Grumman Aerospace, Robotic Vision Systems, Megadata, and American Science, working in scientific research, engineering, software development, management, and consulting. He’s also developed training programs and educational curricula for both academic and professional settings.

Cynthia G. M.

Cynthia holds bachelor’s degrees in Physics, Honors Mathematics, and Geology from the University of South Florida, graduating cum laude. She completed a Master’s in Astronomy at the University of Florida and pursued advanced doctoral research (ABD) in Astronomy, specializing in low-mass star formation. Her career as an educator began early when she was appointed the youngest teaching assistant in her department while still an undergraduate, later securing a full-time faculty position at the University of the Virgin Islands before completing her PhD.

With over 20 years of teaching experience at institutions like the University of Florida, the University of South Florida, Miami Country Day School, and the Community School of Naples, Cynthia has taught a diverse range of students, including those with learning differences, in subjects such as physics, math, astronomy, and Spanish. She is committed to making complex material approachable and employs a structured approach to problem-solving. Cynthia guides students through a 5-step process that helps them tackle any problem with confidence, from understanding the concept to evaluating the solution. This method not only enhances problem-solving skills but also empowers students to become independent, lifelong learners.

By working individually with students, Cynthia is able to quickly identify gaps in their understanding and tailor her lessons to address those specific areas. Her teaching methodology encourages critical thinking, fosters active participation, and builds both academic skills and self-confidence.

Beyond the classroom, Cynthia has been a passionate advocate for outreach, working with students of all ages (from elementary school through adult learners) especially in minority and underrepresented communities. She has also worked closely with students who have special needs, guiding them to success in challenging coursework. As a mother of two middle schoolers, Cynthia understands the personal challenges students face, which strengthens her approach to tutoring.

Fluent in English, Spanish, and French, Cynthia also offers Spanish tutoring and enjoys incorporating cultural perspectives into her teaching. Emma is a dedicated teacher candidate in her final semester of teachers college, specializing in the Intermediate/Senior stream with teachables in Mathematics and Physics. With a strong passion for education and a genuine love of problem-solving, she is committed to helping students gain both confidence and understanding in subjects that many find challenging.

Emma believes that every learner has the ability to succeed in math and science when concepts are explained in clear, relatable ways. She works to break down difficult ideas step by step, encouraging students to ask questions, think critically, and build their problem-solving skills. Her approach combines patience, encouragement, and creativity, ensuring that lessons are engaging and tailored to individual learning styles.

As she completes her journey through teachers college, Emma brings enthusiasm, fresh perspectives, and a strong dedication to student growth. She is passionate about inspiring curiosity, fostering resilience, and creating a supportive environment where students feel confident exploring and mastering new ideas.

Learie G.

Learie graduated from McMaster University with two Bachelor of Science degrees. He is a certified teacher of mathematics, physics, and biology to children ages 11 to 18 years. He is offering over 30 years of teaching in a co-educational high school environment with a population of over 500 students. Apart from teaching, he held the title of Dean of Discipline and Academics for approximately 16 years.
His tutoring experience spans even longer since he began enriching the minds of young people even before he entered university, thus bringing to the table a wealth of skills and expertise.
Learie’s goal has always been to build a positive and creative mindset while tutoring mathematics, especially in areas such as algebra, trigonometry, and geometry, so that they can be pursued with much less anxiety and much more fun and enjoyment.
Learie is truly sports-minded and has actively participated in soccer, swimming, cricket, and running track in high school. In addition, he is an avid outdoors person who enjoys hiking and gardening.

Shalvi D.

Shalvi Dalal recently earned her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a concentration in Software Engineering from Louisiana State University, graduating with honors in May 2025. She is now pursuing her MBA at Southeastern Louisiana University. With several years of tutoring experience at LSU’s Center for Academic Success and as a Teaching Assistant, Shalvi has helped students excel in computer science, math, and related subjects through engaging and supportive one-on-one lessons. She loves tutoring because it allows her to share her passion for learning while helping students build confidence and reach their full potential.

 

Faraz H.

Faraz is a Computer Engineering student at the University of Guelph with a strong passion for problem-solving and creativity. His love for these skills naturally led him to tutoring, where he supports students in both math and physics.

With experience working with a wide range of learners, Faraz has helped students prepare for tests and exams while building their confidence and understanding. He believes that by keeping lessons clear, engaging, and encouraging, students can grow both academically and personally.

As a mathematics major, Danica Reddock takes education seriously and she is committed to helping students succeed. She has been tutoring for six years while keeping her own grades up, and she has five dogs and a cat. Joshua T.

Josh grew up in the suburbs of Texas and his favorite subject has always been math. Whether it be helping his peers in class or professionally, he has been tutoring others in math since the fourth grade! He attended Texas State University and graduated in 2015 with a B.S. in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. During his time at Texas State, he was acknowledged by the Physics department as the outstanding undergraduate instructor of the year and even led the groups of other student instructors for his lab sections. He also participated in a state of the art program that focuses on the learning process of mathematical concepts, and here is where he really developed and honed his skill for teaching math. He received perfect scores on every exit level test from highschool, a perfect 800 on the SAT Math, and a perfect 36 on the ACT Math. He approaches every student with compassion, and possesses a unique skill of diagnosing the foundational gaps in learning to help students maximize their potential. Not only is he in the top 1% of test scores, but his love for math and helping others learn puts him in the top 1% of educators as well.

Navdeep is a passionate physics tutor with a strong academic background and a deep love for teaching. She recently graduated with her Master of Science in Applied Physics from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, where she also worked as a Teaching and Lab Assistant guiding undergraduates through physics experiments, data analysis, and hands-on learning. She is now working as a Research Analyst, focusing on high-frequency ionospheric ray-tracing and space weather modeling, and she brings this same curiosity and problem-solving approach into her tutoring.

Navdeep has extensive experience supporting students one-on-one. She excels at breaking down complex concepts into clear, approachable lessons that build confidence and encourage independent thinking. She is also a dedicated reading coach with the Strong Start Reading Program, supporting early literacy development and helping children build the foundational skills needed to become confident readers. Her love for children and the desire to share knowledge made her choose the career interest in teaching.
