Michael S.
Michael is a high school math and science teacher with 10 years of classroom experience. He’s been helping students from elementary to university develop genuine understandings of their respective courses for over 15 years. Michael holds two bachelor’s degrees from McGill University, one in management from Desautels Faculty of Management and the other in secondary education with a speciality in math and English studies. During his free time, Michael is usually playing hockey, chess, or video games with friends!
Ashley A.
Ashley Aemisegger has a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. She is currently in a Master’s degree program in secondary education at Grand Canyon University (Arizona) with a focus in STEM.
Ashley has extensive experience tutoring high-school students in physics, chemistry, calculus, and algebra, and prides herself on adjusting her instruction to meet each student’s needs.
Growing up in the military gave Ashley a unique appreciation for different cultures and experiences. Today, Ashley spends much of her time in England and adores travel.
In her free time, Ashley loves reading fantasy novels with one of her cats curled up on her lap.
Shivani J.
Shivani Jain is passionate about helping students excel in math and science. She has 13 years of experience working with middle-school, high-school, and college students.
Shivani has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in math, physics, and chemistry — as well as a master’s degree in International Business.
She is an ideal math tutor for students in algebra 1 and 2, geometry, trigonometry, calculus (1, 2, AP, AB, and BC), physics, and chemistry. In addition, Shivani thrives on helping middle- and high-school students prepare for Mathcounts and AMC 8/10 competitions.
The belief that everyone has the potential to excel in math and science is what drives Shivani’s dedication to helping her students reach their full potential.
In her spare time, Shivani likes to go out on walks, hikes, enjoy nature, dance, and cook.
Timothy H.
Timothy Hunter is a lifelong learner and huge nerd, interested in anything math, science or tech related. He has been helping students succeed in math and science for over 7 years. He is a recent graduate from Western University, where he achieved his Masters of Science in Medical Biophysics. During his studies, Timothy published a thesis about using computational methods to investigate the connection between atrial fibrillation and dementia, and authored four peer-reviewed journal articles. Timothy is working towards a career in data analysis, currently doing consulting and web development for small businesses, and tutoring high school to college maths and sciences. He also loves nature, and enjoys spending his free time in Montreals many beautiful parks.
Ana B.
Ana has a Bachelors in Biochemistry and she is pursuing a phD in Cancer research. She has mentored and tutored for 5 years in all STEM subjects and has a lot of experience explaining topics in many other different ways. Her favourite approach is to help students relate to the subjects and see things visually.
KOWNINE C.
Kownine is a New York State certified mathematics educator. He completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in mathematics from The City College of New York (CUNY). He has been a NYC public school educator for over a decade. He has experience teaching in both the middle and high school. Kownine’s pedagogical journey has been marked by a profound impact on countless students. With an innate ability to clarify complex mathematical concept, he has fostered a dynamic and engaging learning environment, making even the most challenging topics accessible to all his students. Kownine has an extensive knowledge of Regents based math courses, which he accumulated from years of teaching and scoring the Regents. Kownine is very excited to be part of an elite group of educators at Prep Academy Tutors and looks forward to working with you.

Alex has two bachelor’s degrees, one in Psychology and another in Mathematics and Chemistry. Throughout his degrees he was consistently on the Dean’s List and was awarded multiple awards for academic achievement.
