Emma L.

Emma has a an Honours Bachelors of Arts degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Master’s degree in Teaching from University of Toronto. Emma is OCT Certified and has experience teaching both in and out of the classroom. She is qualified to teach any subjects from kindergarten up to grade 6.

Emma is passionate about student advocacy and teaching students how they learn best. She was tutored as a child, and this experience has motivated her to become an educator herself. Emma strives to create an enjoyable learning environment by bringing student interests into schooling. Her dedication to social-emotional learning provides a holistic approach teaching, paying close attention to students emotions throughout instructional time.

During her spare time, Emma loves to journal, paint, make bracelets, and try different walking trails around Toronto.

BRIANNA M.

Brianna is pursuing a Bachelors of Math and Education with a minor in French at the University of Lethbridge. Brianna excelled during her first practicum, receiving high marks and outstanding feedback. Including comments regarding a natural teaching ability, and a strong passion for teaching.

 

 

JULIE B.

Julie has a Bachelor of Education degree from Trinity Western University in Langley, BC. She completed the Professional Development Program at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC. Julie has experience working as an ESL Tutor, an Academic Tutor and as an Elementary Classroom Teacher from Kindergarten to grade 7. She has experience tutoring students both in-person and online. Julie enjoys cooking, baking, singing and walking in natural settings with family and friends.

 

AGNES S.

Agnes has a BSc from York University and has been tutoring for over 7 years in ELA, Physics, and Math for grades K-12. She believes that every child learns differently so she prioritizes individualized attention and adapts her teaching style to meet the unique goals and learning preferences of each student. Her mission is to empower students by building both the confidence and the skills necessary for success. When Agnes is not teaching or studying, she loves hiking, rock-climbing, baking and handicrafts.

 

SABRINA G.

Sabrina has been with the HWCDSB for approximately 18 years. She has a degree from McMaster University in Honours Commerce and a minor in Religion. She also studied at the University of Windsor Ontario in 2005 for 1 year and received her BEd in 2006. She can teach primary, junior, intermediate and senior levels. Sabrina is an Ontario Certified Teacher and has tutored for several years previously, she is honoured to once again be a tutor, helping children meet their academic needs.

 

 

Olivia B.

Olivia grew up in Ontario and earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Ottawa. With a strong academic background in the sciences and extensive experience tutoring children, she is now preparing to attend teacher’s college to pursue her passion for education.

Olivia has experience working in childcare and strives to deliver an engaging and fun learning environment tailored to each students learning style. Her approach is patient, supportive, and structured, ensuring that children feel encouraged while building essential skills for success.

Beyond teaching, Olivia has travelled all over Europe and Australia and has developed a passion for travelling. In her free time Olivia enjoys running, hiking, snowboarding and the occasional polar plunge to keep things interesting (and very cold). She is currently living full time in Whistler and taking in all the beautiful things that Whistler has to offer!

 

RINOKO M.

Rinoko is an Elementary School Teacher with a Master’s degree in Education, specializing in Language and Literacies. Passionate about teaching and language, she has worked with elementary students across subjects such as Language Arts, Math, and Social Studies. With a strong background in ESL instruction, Rinoko is dedicated to helping students build confidence in their reading, writing, and communication skills.

Throughout her teaching journey, she has developed a deep passion for working with children and fostering their academic growth. Her approach focuses on making learning engaging and interactive, using creative methods to meet each student’s unique needs. Rinoko enjoys incorporating play-based activities and encouraging students to collaborate through group learning experiences. She believes that building strong relationships with her students is key to their success and continually refines her teaching strategies to support their growth.

 

 

ANDREA R.

Andrea R. was born and raised in San Diego, CA but has happily been on the east coast for over 15 years. After graduating with honors from Wesleyan University, she moved to NYC to get a Masters of Science in Early Childhood and Special Education and begin her career as an educator. For over 12 years she worked as a classroom teacher, special education specialist, and interventionist at an elementary school in NYC. She has been expertly trained in many hands-on math and reading intervention programs that she has used to help her students excel. Kids love her good humor and energy, and she makes learning engaging and fun. Under her tutelage, her students find joy and confidence in and out of the classroom!

 

Sandy R.

Sandy is a committed and enthusiastic educator with over 20 years of experience teaching elementary aged-students in Toronto. Sandy holds a Master of Teaching from the University of Toronto. She brings understanding of the Ontario curriculum, student engagement, and differentiated instruction to her classroom. Throughout her career, Sandy has strived to foster learning environments that are safe, inclusive, supportive, and welcoming where every student feels empowered to take risks.
Sandy believes that every child has the potential to succeed when given the right support, encouragement, and learning environment. She is dedicated to fostering a growth mindset, ensuring that her students develop confidence, resilience, and a love for learning. Her classroom is a space where students are encouraged to explore, collaborate, and think critically while building the academic and social skills necessary for lifelong success. Sandy enjoys the outdoors, running and dance which she integrates into her teaching and learning through extra curricula activities and class trips.With over two decades of experience, Sandy remains passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences that inspire young learners, and to continuously grow as an educator herself.

Maya B.

Maya holds a Master of Teaching from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Guelph. With a strong foundation in education, Maya has experience teaching all subjects at the Grade 1-5 levels. Before pursuing graduate studies, they worked in Early Childhood Education for two years, developing a deep understanding of foundational learning and child development.

As an educator, Maya is committed to creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment where students feel supported in their academic and personal growth. They believe in fostering a student-centered classroom that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning.

Beyond teaching, Maya enjoys knitting, yoga, baking, and traveling!
