David H.

With over 25 years of progressive experience in education, David is a proud promoter of student self-advocacy and independence.

Having graduated from OISE’s Child Study program, David has gone on to teach K-12 in both public and independent schools across Canada and abroad, specializing in University Guidance, Senior English, Primary/Junior Language Arts, executive functioning/study skills, health and wellness support, and socio-emotional counselling.

With a Master of International Education (School Leadership) David has experience as Vice-Principal at TFS, Head of Enrichment at Bishop’s College School and Head of Student Support at West Island College, always believing that leadership is a service industry.

David is dedicated to supporting kids who need a hand. He knows how to inspire students, and establish effective programming that fosters student involvement and parental confidence.

 

KADEEN M.

Kadeen is an OCT certified teacher who holds Primary/Junior qualifications and a Master of Education in Teaching and Learning. She is also a Special Education and Reading Specialist who possesses over ten years of experience in diverse and inclusive classroom settings. She was trained to deliver Mathematics content using a multi-sensory approach to students with learning disabilities in Mathematics. Kadeen is also a trained Phonics Academy tutor who has ample experience in applying appropriate teaching and assessment methodologies and is an expert at designing and developing educational activities and preparing teaching material. She taught at the Primary and the Secondary levels internationally and is currently an elementary teacher in Ontario. In her current role, she successfully implemented instruction that fosters academic growth and personal development for students with varying needs. She collaborates closely with parents, therapists, and other educators to ensure that their approaches are holistic and tailored to maximize educational outcomes.

A nature enthusiast at heart, Kadeen finds solace in the serenity of tranquil environments, where the gentle rustling of leaves and the soft whisper of the wind provide a soothing backdrop to contemplative moments. Her love for nature is matched only by her affection for the beach, where the rhythmic crash of waves against the shore and the expansive horizon offer a sense of freedom and peace. Whether it’s a quiet walk through a lush forest, a moment of reflection by a serene lake, or a day spent basking in the sun by the sea, these experiences are not just hobbies but essential rituals that rejuvenate Kadeen’s spirit and connect her to nature.

 

ROBERT L.

Robert is a professional tutor with more that 15 years experience. He is also a certified hockey official. He received his qualifications in physical education and health from York University. As a father of two boys, Robert is involved in community sports as a coach and volunteer. His hobbies include outdoor activities (cycling golf and kayak). He also likes spending time with his labradoodle, Stella.

 

Aisling O.

Aisling is a primary school teacher who is originally from Ireland, where she completed a Bachelor of Education at Mary Immaculate College. Aisling was given the opportunity to teach grades 1 and 2 following her graduation. Aisling grew up with a deep love of travel and took the opportunity to explore the world after completing two full years of teaching after graduating. Aisling spent three weeks working with teachers and children in Uganda. It was here Aisling discovered her passion for teaching and working with children on a 1:1 basis. During the summer in Ireland, Aisling ran a Summer camp for children with additional needs. The camp gave these children an opportunity to practice social skills and engage in experiences in a safe environment. While living in Canada Aisling is taking the opportunity to continue her professional development, especially in the area of Behaviour Intervention which she feels aids her greatly in her one-to-one work. In her spare time, Aisling works one-on-one with children ranging from 4 years through middle school. She has supported the improvement of their reading, writing, vocabulary, and math skills. Aisling believes that by building a strong relationship with her students she is better able to meet their needs and grow their learning. As a mentor, Aisling continues to develop strategies for working with children. She finds these experiences enjoyable and extremely rewarding.
Aisling has a great love for the outdoors and enjoys participating in team sports. Aisling brings teachings from these experiences into her teaching to allow a holistic approach to every lesson.

Andrea D. R.

Andrea is a dedicated professional specializing in applied behaviour analysis (ABA) with extensive experience supporting early learners in developing foundational skills in math and English. She has completed her Master of Professional Education in Applied Behaviour Analysis from Western University and holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Behavioural Science Technician Diploma. Currently serving as a Behaviour Clinician, Andrea excels in designing individualized behaviour intervention plans, coaching teams, and conducting skill assessments like ABLLS-R and VB-MAPP to guide early academic and developmental goals. Her experience includes implementing evidence-based strategies like Discrete Trial Training (DTT) and Natural Environment Teaching (NET) to enhance language, literacy, and numeracy skills. With a strong background in tutoring, training caregivers, and fostering collaboration with families and educators, Andrea is passionate about creating engaging, personalized learning experiences that build confidence and success in young learners.

Ryan C.

Ryan is originally from the Big Island of Hawai’i and is an Ontario Certified Teacher. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Hawai’i and a Bachelors of Professional Studies for Primary/Junior (Honours with Distinction) from Niagara University.

Ryan uses a multimedia approach to accommodate various learning styles and believes in incorporating a student’s personal interests beyond the classroom into lesson plans to help with retention and comprehension.

In his spare time, he enjoys snowboarding, surfing, skateboarding, swimming, and fishing with his 8-year-old son. Next on their list: Brazilian jiu-jitsu!

Aoife R.

Aoife is a passionate teacher and BC certified educator dedicated to helping students achieve their full potential. With six years of teaching experience in Ireland, before working in Canada as a resource teacher, she brings a wealth of knowledge and innovative strategies to her tutoring sessions.
Aoife graduated with a Bachelor of Education in Dublin in 2016, where she developed a strong foundation in educational practices.Holding a second degree in psychology, Aoife understands the unique learning styles of each student, allowing her to tailor her approach for maximum impact. Her focus on building confidence and fostering a love for learning ensures that students not only grasp their subjects but also develop essential skills for lifelong success.

In her free time, Aoife enjoys hiking, exploring art, listening to music, and finding inspiration in the world around her. Her engaging and supportive teaching style creates a positive environment where students feel valued and empowered to reach their goals.

JULIANNA P.

Julianna P. is a dedicated educator currently pursuing her Master of Teaching degree at the University of Toronto. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from York University and has extensive experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, including those in special education. Julianna has served as a supply teacher and as a tutor at Oxford Learning, where she helped students build strong literacy and numeracy skills. She has also taught her own classrooms in YCDSB Continuing Education programs, where she specialized in using differentiated instruction to meet the unique needs of each learner.

Julianna is passionate about fostering a love of learning and tailors her lesson plans to support individual strengths and challenges. With a strong commitment to inclusive education, she uses strategies that ensure all students, regardless of their learning style or abilities, feel supported and engaged. Outside of teaching, Julianna loves spending her free time baking. She enjoys sharing treats just as much as she enjoys sharing knowledge! Julianna believes that education is a collaborative journey where teacher and student grow together and learn from each other.

NICK M.

With over 12 years of experience in both private and public educational settings, Nick is a creative and engaging tutor known for making learning fun and motivating. As a college instructor and former elementary teacher, Nick has taught a broad range of subjects, including science, math, English, social studies, and college-level courses. He uses games, positive reinforcement, and foundational support to inspire intrinsic motivation and build character in students. Mina G. holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Tampere University in Finland. With over seven years of teaching experience, Mina has successfully guided students across a wide range of subjects, including math, physics, chemistry, and science, from elementary to undergraduate levels. She possesses a comprehensive understanding of the Ontario curriculum and is skilled in adapting her teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles, ensuring that each student receives personalized support. Mina specializes in working with children aged 5 to 19, creating engaging lessons that foster both independent thinking and a genuine interest for learning. Known for her patience, clear communication, and ability to simplify complex concepts, Mina helps students build confidence and reach their academic potential.
