Matthew D.

Matthew grew up in Brenham, TX, and earned his Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Texas at San Antonio, graduating magna cum laude. During his studies, he discovered his passion for teaching and helping students understand math and physics in ways that make sense to them.

Since 2021, Matthew has been a full-time educator in the Austin area, teaching and tutoring a wide range of subjects, including Pre-Calculus, Calculus I & II, Geometry, Algebra, and AP Physics. His teaching philosophy centers on building a strong conceptual foundation and adapting lessons to each student’s unique way of thinking. He has also worked successfully with students with learning differences such as dyscalculia, dysgraphia, ADHD, and autism.

Matthew’s structured yet flexible approach helps students gain both confidence and mastery in their coursework. He is known for his patience, clear explanations, and ability to make challenging material approachable.

Outside of teaching, Matthew enjoys hiking, biking, reading, playing volleyball, and exploring new restaurants around Austin. (Fun fact: he once hacked Mario Kart Wii to add custom races!)

Robert S.

Robert is a professional and engaging tutor with 15 years of tutoring experience. He has Bachelor’s degrees in both Math and Chemistry and a PhD in Computational Chemistry from Stanford University. He specializes in high school and college level math and chemistry courses in addition to standardized test preparation in these areas. His level of subject matter expertise and understanding of students’ individual preferred learning styles helps his students achieve great success in their studies. His teaching style focuses on asking the student questions to allow them to arrive at the answer, which results in better memory and pattern recognition when they inevitably later see similar types of problems. He understands that every student is unique and has the patience to work with them on the strategies and methods that will set each student up for success.

Bruce M.

Bruce is an experienced educator with over 30 years of teaching and tutoring across academic subjects including math, science, writing, history, and geography. He’s helped students at all levels improve understanding, raise grades, and boost scores on standardized tests like the SAT, ACT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, GED, AP exams, Regents, ASVAB, and Civil Service tests. He’s served as an Adjunct Professor for over 30 years at several colleges, and also taught with The Princeton Review and Kaplan, bringing proven test-prep strategies to his students. In addition to 20 years of private tutoring, he spent 5 years with Science Adventures, running after-school science programs and summer camps plus 6 years at Treasure Island Day Camp in charge of all Nature programs.
His professional background includes more than two decades at Brookhaven National Lab, as well as technical and management roles at Grumman Aerospace, Robotic Vision Systems, Megadata, and American Science, working in scientific research, engineering, software development, management, and consulting. He’s also developed training programs and educational curricula for both academic and professional settings.
Beyond teaching and tech, he is a published writer with thousands of pages in print, as well as a journal editor. Students appreciate his ability to explain complex concepts clearly, build confidence, and adapt to their unique learning style.

Donald B.

Donald B., Jr. is an academic counselor, Director of Speech & Debate and Mock Trial for a high school in New Orleans, La., and the Executive Director of his own nonprofit organization, Louisiana Urban Debate League. Mr. Broussard also is a public speaker and has spoken at several national conferences over the years. Mr. Broussard started teaching in 2006 after the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina. He started teaching Civics and Free Enterprise and Speech & Debate. Mr. Broussard has taught multiple subject areas (Social Studies, English, Physical Science, Algebra, Law Studies, Psychology, Debate, and ACT Prep) in multiple states (Louisiana, Nevada, Mississippi, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Alabama, and Massachusetts).
Additionally, Mr. Broussard taught Advanced Placement courses in the areas of Social Studies, English, Psychology, Research & Seminar, along with college courses at Strayer University. Nadja Edmond, M.S.Ed., is a dynamic, transformational leader and award-winning educator recognized for helping students excel and exceed expectations. An expert in K–12 curriculum, she earned a Master of Science in Education from the world-renowned Johns Hopkins University. Kevin W.

Kevin is a former high school math teacher with over 30 years of teaching and tutoring experience. He has created and taught three math courses for a local California college and has previously taught at Palm Beach State College in Florida and CT State Community College in Norwalk, Connecticut. Kevin is also the author of two math books: The SAT Mathematics Solution Guide and Quantitative Reasoning. In addition to teaching, he consults and provides corporate training in Excel and Microsoft Office products, and he conducts a series of courses at MiraCosta College.

Joshua T.

Josh grew up in the suburbs of Texas and his favorite subject has always been math. Whether it be helping his peers in class or professionally, he has been tutoring others in math since the fourth grade! He attended Texas State University and graduated in 2015 with a B.S. in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. During his time at Texas State, he was acknowledged by the Physics department as the outstanding undergraduate instructor of the year and even led the groups of other student instructors for his lab sections. He also participated in a state of the art program that focuses on the learning process of mathematical concepts, and here is where he really developed and honed his skill for teaching math. He received perfect scores on every exit level test from highschool, a perfect 800 on the SAT Math, and a perfect 36 on the ACT Math. He approaches every student with compassion, and possesses a unique skill of diagnosing the foundational gaps in learning to help students maximize their potential. Not only is he in the top 1% of test scores, but his love for math and helping others learn puts him in the top 1% of educators as well.

Walker J.

Walker is an Idaho native, born and raised in Idaho Falls. He moved to Boise in 2023 and is currently a full-time Junior at Boise State University, majoring in Construction Management with a minor in Spanish. A high achiever in high school, Walker served as Senior Class President before graduating summa cum laude with a 4.2 GPA. During that time he worked as a tutor for his twin sister who struggled with information retention. By using real-world scenarios and hands-on examples, he made learning more engaging, and discovered a genuine passion for teaching in the process. I am currently a Literacy Instructional Specialist with 16 years of experience in education, including a variety of leadership roles. My work is grounded in the Science of Reading, and I specialize in building students’ skills in reading, writing, and test preparation. I earned my first three degrees from Kennesaw State University and Georgia State University, and I am now pursuing my doctorate at Liberty University.
