Joanna is an Ontario Certified Teacher. She completed her teaching education at York University in 2022. Before teacher’s college, she gained a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Studies from the University of Guelph Humber!
Since childhood, her dream has been to become a teacher. She absolutely loves spending her time with students and children and witnessing their learning and growth. As an educator, she believes in getting to know the students personally and academically to create a tailored learning experience. Joanna thrives on activities that are interactive and make learning exciting and enjoyable. She believes that setting achievable goals with students and reaching them together not only builds their confidence but instills a sense of accomplishment.

AMANDA F.

Hi there! I’m Amanda, an OCT certified teacher with a passion for education that spans over 20 years. A graduate of the University of Western Sydney’s teachers college, I specialize in intensive support programs,  full-day kindergarten, literacy and special education.. I have a Diploma and a Degree in Recreation Leadership, and hold additional qualifications as a Reading and Special Education Specialist.

I bring an unwavering belief in the competence and capability of every child with the proper support. My approach revolves around emergent learning and play-based education, integrating strategies like Universal Design for Learning (UDL).  These approaches ensure that each student receives an education tailored to their unique needs, fostering a sense of inclusivity and empowerment.

Beyond academics, my life in Toronto revolves around my husband, our two children and our dog Willow, reflecting my commitment to family and outdoor activities. Summers are spent up north, supporting my husband in his role as a Director of a summer camp, embodying my belief in holistic and engaging learning experiences.

KATHLEEN R.

With 20 years experience, Kathleen holds a Masters Degree in Education and specializes in Primary and Junior education. Kathleen’s passion for teaching extends to learners of all ages, from young children to adults, making her a versatile and dedicated tutor.

With a keen focus on remedial Math and Language, Kathleen has a track record of helping students overcome challenges and build a strong foundation in these crucial areas. Litaracy support is designed to not only build foundations, but also to foster a love of reading.

Roxanne H.

Roxanne is a licensed teacher with a bachelor’s degree in English, and a master’s degree in K-12 Reading and Writing.

Kyle is a multilingual professional with a wealth of experience in leadership, networking, and tutoring. He was born in East Asia, speaks English, Cantonese, and Mandarin fluently, and is actively learning Italian, Arabic, Spanish, French, and Korean. With six years of tutoring experience teaching students from primary, university, and ESL adult backgrounds, Kyle is passionate about teaching English, social sciences, history, and economics as a result of his academic background. His love for teaching is evident in the way he connects with his students and fosters a positive learning environment. Kyle’s leadership skills are also impressive, having founded and served as the chapter president of My Networking Club, a registered charity where he managed a team of over 20 executives to craft growth plans for six key events that connect university students to industry professionals for networking, mentorship, and internship opportunities. Under Kyle’s leadership, the club achieved membership growth of over 100 members and 300+ attendees from top companies in Canada. Kyle’s academic achievements are equally notable, with a GPA of 3.9/4.0 and a place on the Dean’s Honor Roll at York University. STEPHANIE F.

Stephanie brings a wealth of expertise and dedication to her role as an educator, with extensive experience working one-on-one with children who face a wide range of learning challenges. Her background includes specialized training in remedial reading programs such as The Wilson Program, Direct Instruction, and UFLI, equipping her with proven strategies to support students in developing essential literacy skills.

Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in English from Simon Fraser University and is a qualified EAL (English as an Additional Language) instructor. Her teaching focus spans middle and high school students in Humanities and English composition, as well as Primary and Junior students in literacy and remedial reading support.

In addition to her work locally, Stephanie has also supported numerous students internationally, helping them acquire and refine their English language skills. Her ability to tailor instruction to the unique needs of each learner ensures that every student feels supported and empowered in their academic journey. Stephanie’s passion for education and her dedication to fostering growth make her an invaluable resource for her students and their families.

MARYANN M.

Maryann is in her 15th year teaching in New York City. She holds an M.S. in Education from Lehman College, an M.S. in Special Education from Manhattan College, and an Advanced Certificate in School Building Leadership from Manhattan College. She values her connections with her students and especially enjoys teaching science and literacy!

JACKSON F.

Jackson is an Ontario Certified Teacher who currently teaches within the TDSB. Jackson recently obtained his Master of Teaching Degree from OISE, University of Toronto, with Straight A’s! Before this, he obtained a combined honors Bachelor’s Degree from Dalhousie University in Theatre (Acting) & Environment, Sustainability & Society, with a minor in Chinese Studies. Why Chinese? Jamie is currently a grade 2/3 teacher with the Toronto District School Board. He holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Master of Teaching in Elementary Education, and is currently completing his Master of Arts in Social Justice Education. He also holds additional qualifications in Special Education, Primary/Junior Literacy, Mathematics, Reading, ESL, and Kindergarten.
During the summer months, Jamie fulfills the role of Program Director with Westcoast Connection. Over the past 10 summers he has directed programs all over Canada, USA, Europe and Australia.
