AMAL S.
Amal is a goal-driven professional educator with a PhD in Economics and a Master’s in Finance and Banking, boasting 15 years of experience in teaching Economics and Business Administration courses. She is adept at planning, delivering, and adapting course curricula and teaching styles in both English and French to optimize student learning. Amal has successfully instructed and mentored over 60 students in a multicultural setting, employing Active Learning methodologies and integrating technology to enhance classroom experiences.
With a passion for education, Amal has contributed significantly to various educational settings. She has served as a Mathematics and Sciences Teacher at La Citadelle Academy of Sciences and Arts, where she instructed curriculum in French for students in grades 3 to 5, implementing innovative teaching strategies to engage students in a bilingual environment. Additionally, she has worked as a Teaching Assistant at Concordia University, developing and teaching Economics and Business Administration courses. She is also currently involved in the Teaching Assistant Program at the University of Toronto and is a Private French Tutor, providing personalized tutoring sessions to enhance critical thinking skills and concentration in French Immersion programs.
Amal’s academic journey includes a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Pedagogy, with a specialization in Online Teaching and Learning, from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto. She is a multilingual educator fluent in French, English, and Arabic, and her expertise extends to various educational technology platforms.
In addition to her teaching experience, Amal is actively involved in research and community-based initiatives. Outside of her professional endeavors, Amal enjoys connecting with nature, watching birds and pigeons, and indulging her creative side by writing children’s books.
James O.
James earned a BS in World History from Temple University and has been working in education for the past 16 years. He values the connections he makes with students and enjoys helping students understand their learning profiles. His academic expertise is with ELA, essay writing, college essay writing, SAT prep specifically in Reading and Writing sections and executive functioning skills. He is remarkable at supporting students in learning to rely on their strengths. He also has a knack for product design, graphic design, and loves panda bears.
Thad F.
With a bachelor’s degree from the Air Force Academy and a master’s from theUniversity of Dayton, Thad’s credentials and experience run broad and deep. For over 30 years he has taught math, science, and English at the university level–all the way down through first grade. Thad’s passion and joy is helping students and their families overcome academic challenges and grow to thrive at the highest levels of their potential.
In his free time, Thad enjoys his six children and three grandchildren, tennis, hiking, photography, swing dancing, and food with his wife, Beth. He almost never meets a student with whom he does not enjoy working, and he hopes to continue teaching as long as his health allows–at least 50 more years!

Brian N. is a current teacher at Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute and Baccalaureate School (IB Program) in Kitchener, Ontario. He currently teaches grade 9, 10 and 12 math at the school, but has tutored and is comfortable with all Ontario mathematics content (JK- Calculus, IB and beyond!). His qualifications are as follows: Primary, Junior, Intermediate Senior Division Teachable, as well as Intermediate Mathematics and History, as well as Senior qualifications in Music. Mrs. Maggie B. has been a teacher and school administrator for 19 years and she loves to watch students succeed and grow. She has a bachelor’s degree in Literature from The University of North Florida and a Masters degree from The University of Texas San Antonio in Educational leadership and Curriculum & Instruction. She spent much of her own school days in Europe where she formed a love for traveling and other cultures. That love translated into her classroom when she traveled with her students to numerous countries and showed them the world! In the classroom, she taught high school English, writing, drama and acting. She has been a middle and high school administrator and, one of her favorite things, a coach for teachers as they improve their craft. She is very excited and looks forward to working with your student!
Haisam Z.
Haisam is an Ontario Certified Teacher. He grew up in the Middle East, and moved to Canada when he was 14. He completed his schooling and attained his Bachelors of Science and Education from Western University and U of T in 2013 and 2015, respectively. He is confident that he has the skills and qualifications as well as the passion to work with high school students. Having worked as a high school teacher since 2016, from private schools such as Blyth Academy and Burlington Royal Arts Academy, and several international high schools while abroad in the U.K., followed by securing a position as a teacher within the York Region and Simcoe County district school boards where he works currently, Haisam feels that his past work experience would make him an ideal candidate to provide one on one instruction as a high school tutor. Haisam has continually tutored high schoolers which has further helped him realize the beauty of inspiring and motivating others to be the best they can be, and it has convinced him that the teaching profession is his passion. As a teacher, Haisam seeks to ignite the passion and innate curiosity within the students to want to learn by instilling within them the desire for self-discovery. Once instilled and the interest is developed, he guides and facilitates the students’ personal journey of self-discovery. This passion is what would drive them towards an enduring learning experience. Furthermore, he’s a firm believer in developing a rapport with students to make every moment of their time during his teaching as comfortable and welcoming as possible. Haisam is also an avid fan and practitioner of several sports such as amateur wrestling, boxing, mixed martial arts, track and field, and badminton. As a tutor, Haisam can help students ace their performance in sciences and mathematics, and also help them be better athletes as a bonus! Rolando S.
Originally from Chicago, Rolando moved to San Antonio where he recently completed a 20-year career at the community college level. Rolando has been able to use his academic background in economics, business, and higher education to travel and make an impact as an educator and volunteer. He was part of a group that traveled to Bahrain and Qatar in order to raise awareness, understanding, and cooperation between educators in the United States and the Middle East. Also, as a part of a volunteer mission, Rolando participated in a trip to provide economics and business practice workshops in Peru. In addition, he was a guest lecturer at The Hague University for six-month period. Finally, Rolando traveled to Cuba to explore the possibility of conducting research about entrepreneurs. As a result of his travels, Rolando considers himself to be a global learner and strives to impart that knowledge and experience to his students. His desire is that not only will they be successful in the classroom, but will also explore the world with curiosity and recognize the value of others in the global community. In his spare time, Rolando roots for all Chicago sports teams, loves to read, to cook new dishes, is a borderline gym rat, and is a self-proclaimed cinephile (he insists that Die Hard IS a Christmas movie).
Halle M.
Halle obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Music with a certificate in Statistics and Machine Learning from Princeton University, where she graduated with high honors. Halle was awarded multiple prizes for her senior thesis musical and a prize for outstanding work by underclassmen in musical theater. With her strong background in and passion for mathematics, she has had professional employment experience in the data analytics sector. Along with her years of tutoring experience in a variety of subjects, Halle has experience guiding and mentoring students as they approach the college application process. Halle believes strongly in the importance of developing a relationship founded on trust and respect with her students. As a high-achieving student from a rural community, Halle’s passion is providing students with the support and resources they need to succeed, just as her mentors did for her. A fun fact about Halle is that she completed a virtual internship entirely in Spanish for a non-profit organization based out of Argentina, and hopes to visit the country soon!
