Ihsan

EN: Ihsan holds a Licence en Droit from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and is currently completing a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and International Business at McGill University’s Desautels Faculty of Management, where she has received both the McGill and Desautels Faculty Awards.
She specializes in French baccalauréat preparation, French literature, elementary school support, SAT preparation, and TEFAQ/TEF exam coaching. As a French language facilitator, Ihsan has helped students prepare for the TEFAQ and TEF exams and has led French language workshops for corporate clients across Montreal.
A native speaker of both French and Arabic and fully fluent in English, Ihsan supports students from a wide range of linguistic backgrounds, whether they are building foundational language skills or preparing for high-stakes examinations. She brings the analytical rigour of her legal and business studies, along with a genuine passion for language and literature, to every session.
Outside of tutoring, Ihsan is passionate about cooking and pastry arts and holds a Diploma of Vocational Studies in Cuisine. She also teaches piano and enjoys spending her free time reading French literature.

Elle apporte à chaque séance la rigueur analytique de sa formation en droit et en commerce, ainsi qu’une véritable passion pour la langue et la littérature.
En dehors du tutorat, Ihsan est passionnée par la cuisine et la pâtisserie et détient un diplôme d’études professionnelles (DEP) en cuisine. Elle enseigne également le piano et aime consacrer son temps libre à la lecture de la littérature française

Cheyenne R.

Cheyenne is a veteran Chicago Public Schools special education teacher with 13 years of experience supporting diverse learners across preschool through 8th grade. Originally from a small rural town in Michigan, she obtained her undergraduate degree in Sociology and Women’s Studies from the University of Michigan before entering the classroom through AmeriCorps-The New Teacher Project. While initially drawn to education policy reform, Cheyenne quickly discovered her passion lies in working directly with students and families. She went on to earn her English as a Second Language endorsement and a Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis to better meet the wide-ranging needs of her students. Cheyenne is especially passionate about building executive functioning skills to help students access opportunities beyond the classroom, and her work is grounded in a holistic, relationship-centered approach. Outside of teaching, she can usually be found traveling, playing golf, volleyball, or pickleball, exploring the outdoors, spending time with friends and family, or attempting to keep her 30+ houseplants thriving.

Shannon S.

Shannon S. has a decade of teaching experience along with over nine years of tutoring children ages 3–14. She currently works as an Autistic Support Early Intervention Teacher for children ages 3–4. Throughout her career, Shannon also taught Kindergarten, 3rd, and 4th grades, gaining a strong understanding of how children learn and grow across different stages.

Shannon has extensive experience supporting children in developing early literacy skills, including pre-reading skills, building confidence in learning to read, and strengthening math skills. She enjoys helping children grow academically and gain confidence in their abilities, tailoring her approach to each child’s unique needs.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health from Widener University, where she also completed a Master of Education and obtained teaching certifications in Preschool–8th Grade for both Regular and Special Education. Shannon is currently pursuing a second Master’s degree in Early Intervention at West Chester University.

Shannon lives in Old City, and in her free time, she enjoys reading a good book, going for a run, and spending time with friends. She is looking forward to the opportunity to work with you and support your child’s growth and success!

Ti’Air C-R.

Ti’Air, PhD is a neural engineering researcher and STEM educator who just recently became the first Black Biomedical Engineering PhD recipient from MSU. She received her bachelors in Biomedical Engineering from The Ohio State University in 2011, also becoming the first black undergraduate student to receive a bachelors in science in BME from OSU, and proceeded to earn a master’s from the University of Cincinnati in 2013. Beginning her PhD at Purdue in 2014, she transferred to Michigan State in January 2019. Her research focus is integrating tissue engineering with implantable electrodes to tune immune response in the brain, in the REIL lab under the direction of Dr. Erin Purcell. She is a co-founder for Black In Neuro, serves as the Academia Chair for the Health Innovations special interest group of the National Society of Black Engineers, is a local organizer for Com Sci Con MI, and is in the speaker’s bureau for the Rape And Incest National Network. She has also served in the community under her platforms of sexual assault awareness and exposing underrepresented students to STEM as Miss Indiana United States 2015 and has received awards for her Social Justice in 2016 and Humanitarianism in 2018. She was named a fellow in the Society for Neuroscience from 2016 – 2018 and is also a NIH F99/K00 fellowship awardee. She completed her postdoc at Case Western Reserve University and her second at Yale University. She has vast experience with neurodegeneration, brain computer interfaces research and is interested in the ethical implications of neurotechnology.

James O.

James is a veteran educator with 25 years of experience in the High School English Language Arts classroom, where he has taught every grade and ability level. While his formal teaching background is rooted in ELA, he is a versatile scholar capable of tutoring across the broader Humanities, including History, Government, Social Studies, and Philosophy. A double alumnus of Quinnipiac University, James holds both a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in Education, and he furthered his expertise by earning a Sixth-Year Degree from the University of New England. From guiding honors students through complex literary analysis to helping reluctant learners find their voice, James has a proven track record of making even the most daunting subjects accessible and engaging. He has spent over two decades mastering a wide variety of curricula and has extensive experience with standardized test prep and the high-stakes art of the college essay. James believes that tutoring is most effective when it fosters true student agency and confidence, and he treats every session as a partnership tailored to each student’s unique learning style. When he isn’t helping students unpack the complexities of a well-crafted thesis statement, James can almost certainly be found on the water. An avid boater with a passion for warmer climates and the great outdoors, he brings that same sense of adventure and steady navigation to his work with his students. With James at the helm, students don’t just survive their coursework; they master the skills to chart their own course to academic success.

ALEX V. K.

Alex has been tutoring since he was in high school, participating in after-school peer tutoring. This continued throughout his B.Eng. in Mechatronics Engineering at McMaster University where he developed proficiencies across many STEM subjects areas such as math, physics, computer science, data science, and the principles of applying these subjects in engineering design. He also, has extensive experience preparing students for the SAT examination. Alex has taught a wide range of students from kindergarten to undergraduates, and is excited to continue sharing his passion for STEM subjects with his students!

THEODORE F.

Theodore is a Communications and Liberal Arts instructor at Georgian College in Barrie. He came into these roles with a background in information science, academic and legal editing, and years of experience as private music instructor and committed school tutor providing remedial and enrichment support.

Theodore holds an Honours BA in Classical Studies from the University of Waterloo, a Master of Library and Information Science from Western University, and a Professional Certificate in Web Design from Humber College.

He specializes in skills that transfer across subjects, including reading comprehension, structured writing, argumentation, study habits, and test readiness. He helps students address weak organization, unclear expectations, anxiety, inconsistent practice, and gaps in fundamentals. Students learn how to generate and organize ideas, write with clarity and purpose, revise effectively, and approach texts using critical reading strategies.

At the post-secondary and adult level, Theodore also supports academic writing and communications work with an emphasis on research and scholarly presentation: finding and evaluating sources, integrating evidence, and handling references, citations, formatting, and style requirements.

Eric L.

Eric is a certified educator with over 25 years of teaching and tutoring experience. Having loved math his entire life, he graduated from Georgia State University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics with a concentration in secondary education. He went on to teach for a few years and also work at several different tutoring companies. He worked in the corporate world for several years continuing to use his math skills by analyzing financial reports for storage facilities. He also used his teaching skills to train new and veteran employees on policies, procedures, and computer programs. In his free time, Eric likes to play all types of games with his wife, 10 year old son, and other friends. He is currently a level 9 dwarf cleric in Dungeons and Dragons.

Shauna K.

Helping students succeed is Shauna K.’s true passion.

Shauna has been teaching, tutoring, and helping students achieve academic success for more than a decade.

A California native, Shauna has a graduate and undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from UCSD. She also has a TESOL certificate to teach English as a foreign language, and many years of in-person and online SAT and ACT coaching — which is her specialty.

Shauna is highly skilled in helping students excel in a wide range of subjects from science and math to language arts and Spanish.

She is an expert at helping all students learn (and master) executive functioning skills such as planning, time management, study habits, and effective study techniques (how to study). She believes that the confidence gained through these skills propel students forward and lay the groundwork for lifelong success.

When Shauna is not teaching or tutoring, you will find her hiking, biking, or camping the Rockies.

Pragati P.

Pragati is a passionate and dedicated educator with a strong background in Chemical Engineering and a deep love for math and science. Her academic training has equipped her with a solid foundation in problem-solving, analytical thinking, and real-world applications of scientific concepts, which Pragati brings into every tutoring session.

Currently, teaching 8th-grade science, Pragati focuses on making complex ideas engaging, accessible, and meaningful for her students. In addition, she has experience teaching 10th-grade chemistry and 9th-grade biology, and can support students across a wide range of scientific subjects and grade levels. She is also pursuing a Master’s degree in Education, working toward becoming a high school science and math teacher. This ongoing training helps her stay up-to-date with effective teaching strategies and student-centered learning approaches.

As a tutor, Pragati’s goal is to build confidence, strengthen understanding, and help students develop a genuine interest in math and science. She strives to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and growing academically.
