ALISON F.
Alison is a BC Certified Teacher with a passion for education and child development. She earned her Bachelor of Education from Simon Fraser University in 2019, following her undergraduate degree in psychology, with a minor in Learning and Developmental Disabilities. Currently, she teaches upper primary with the North Vancouver School District, having worked with students ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 7. Alison has education and experience in literacy assessment, instruction, and intervention.
Since her youth, Alison has thrived in roles mentoring children and youth. Her lifelong aspiration to become a teacher led her to facilitate after-school programs during high school and provide private tutoring in math, English, social studies, and science for Grades 8 to 10.
Alison values the unique learning styles of each child. By leveraging their strengths and interests, she tailors instruction to help students achieve their educational objectives. Alison believes in an active learning approach, emphasizing that students must feel regulated and connected for optimal learning experiences. She integrates a universal design for learning strategy into her tutoring sessions, empowering children to take ownership of their educational journey.

Jeremy M.
Jeremy is a certified Physics/Mathematics, and Technology Education teacher. He grew up in San Antonio, TX, moving to San Marcos to complete an undergraduate degree in Sound Recording Technology. While working on his bachelor degree, Jeremy found a job as an AVID tutor for junior high and high school students, and this was where he first got a taste of working in the classroom. Next, he then spent a year as a graduate student abroad at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, before returning to Texas to finish his masters degree in International Studies. Jeremy grew up with a deep love of travel and took the opportunity to explore the world during and after college. He had always thought about teaching full time, and it wasn’t until the covid pandemic after being stuck at home that he decided to take the leap and join the teaching field. During his time as a teacher, Jeremy has also sponsored the student guitar club on his campus, and co-sponsored the Science Bowl team. In the summer of 2023, Jeremy taught physics for the Pre Freshman Engineering Program hosted at UTSA, where students conducted hands-on experiments to learn about static and current electricity. Jeremy believes that by building a solid relationship with his students, he can better meet their needs and grow their learning.
AIJA D.
Aija is currently completing her Bachelor of Education degree through the University of Calgary. She specializes in Elementary sciences, and is confident teaching any subject from K-6. She has her Level 1 Early Childhood Educator certification, and has experience working with students in an elementary school setting from her practicums, volunteer experiences, and class activities.
Aija excels in adapting to diverse learning environments and possesses strong patience, organizational, and time management skills.
Aija is passionate about outdoor and environmental education and is an advocate for play-based and hands-on learning.
Outside of tutoring, her interests include soccer, which she has played her whole life and continues to play today, experiencing new cultures through travel, and spending time with friends and family.
Ella M.
Ella is a third year honours biochemistry student at McGill University planning to pursue medical school after graduation. She is also a student researcher working in the Huang Lab at McGill studying ovarian cancer. She is passionate about teaching fundamental studying skills and solidifying students’ knowledge in the scientific field. She has past experience tutoring high school science for a non-profit organization. Ella is available for online or in person tutoring sessions and looks forward to collaborating with her students!
CHRISTINE S-V.
Christine has years of experience in individualized tutoring in chemistry and biology for university, college and high school students. She taught for 15 years in high school classrooms (biology and chemistry) with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and masters degree in education. She designed the curriculum and taught the study skills portion of a summer Learning Skills Workshop also serving as director of the program. She especially enjoys supporting young women interested in STEM careers.
Saumya M.
Saumya has a vast background in various subjects that she is qualified to tutor. She has a background in Arts & Culture through her high school’s SHSM program, focusing on Vocal Music and Musical Theatre. During this time, she taught music theory to grades 9-11 students.
Saumya completed her undergraduate education in Neuroscience, Biology, and Chemistry at the University of Toronto. She is currently finishing her Master of Science degree from the University of Toronto in Cell and Systems Biology. She plans to complete an MD/PhD degree and eventually teach undergraduate university courses as a professor.
Saumya has experience teaching undergraduate small-group tutorials as a Teaching Assistant at U of T Mississauga. Her subjects of expertise include general chemistry, biology, and psychology. She has also given guest lectures and created advanced case studies for human anatomy courses at UofT.
Saumya has won numerous academic and public service awards for her commitment to student success. She has mentored high school and university students academically since 2017. In her free time, Saumya enjoys musical theatre, indoor cycling, solving sudoku puzzles, and trivia games!
Robin B.
Robin B. loves working with pre-teens and teens! She has 20+ years teaching, certified in all subjects 1-8 grades. The majority of her career has been teaching math where she loves coming alongside students struggling. Her energy, enthusiasm, knowledge, and ability to connect with students make her a top pick!
Camilia D.
Camilia is a professional and passionate tutor with over 6 years of experience teaching and tutoring. She has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in biology, and is pursing her Doctoral degree in Naturopathic Medicine. Camilia is a certified ESL instructor, and has worked with students at a variety of grade and ability levels. Camilia loves teaching, learning, art, music, cooking and travelling. On her free time she takes photographs and runs outside 🙂
Thad F.
With a bachelor’s degree from the Air Force Academy and a master’s from theUniversity of Dayton, Thad’s credentials and experience run broad and deep. For over 30 years he has taught math, science, and English at the university level–all the way down through first grade. Thad’s passion and joy is helping students and their families overcome academic challenges and grow to thrive at the highest levels of their potential.
In his free time, Thad enjoys his six children and three grandchildren, tennis, hiking, photography, swing dancing, and food with his wife, Beth. He almost never meets a student with whom he does not enjoy working, and he hopes to continue teaching as long as his health allows–at least 50 more years!
KAISY R.
Kaisy is an Ontario Certified teacher with a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University specializing in Math, Science and Chemistry as her teachable subjects.
Kaisy is a supply teacher with the school boards and has extensive tutoring experience. Science and Mathematics are a passion that Kaisy enjoys sharing with her students and she loves to help others find a specific interest that inspires learning and provides a different view of the world. Kaisy believes that the specific methodology changes, but the enthusiasm for discovering new things in a way that works for each person is the same. She is continually motivated by the confidence each student gains after accomplishing a difficult task and is committed to helping students develop a love of learning based on their individual interests and specific abilities. Kaisy is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. She enjoys hiking, rock climbing and camping and she recently found her new all-time favourite – Bubble Tea!
