GRIFFIN H.

Griffin graduated from Humber College in 2022, receiving a Bachelor’s of Music with honours. Griffin is currently enrolled at the University of Toronto completing his Master’s of Teaching, where he is set to graduate in April 2025. Griffin is 24 years old and has been teaching music and mentoring students for over 5 years and has experience working with students of all ages.

Griffin graduated from Kelowna Secondary School in 2018 receiving a diploma with honours, as well as the Holland-Rusk Award, the BC Achievement Scholarship, and the BC District Scholarship for Fine Arts. During his time at Humber College, Griffin was awarded the Bernie Piltch Memorial Scholarship and the Yamaha Canada Music Award.

Griffin has recently completed two placements in TDSB schools and has extensive knowledge of the Ontario curriculum, with a focus on the Junior/Intermediate division.

 

Mila M.

Mila graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science. She is currently completing her Master of Arts in Child Study and Education. Mila has a range of previous teaching experiences, including math, French, science, swimming and chess. She can best support students through helping them work on their critical thinking skills, communication, and application in their work. During her free time, Mila enjoys reading, boxing and spending quality time with her family.

ALISON F.

Alison is a BC Certified Teacher with a passion for education and child development. She earned her Bachelor of Education from Simon Fraser University in 2019, following her undergraduate degree in psychology, with a minor in Learning and Developmental Disabilities. Currently, she teaches upper primary with the North Vancouver School District, having worked with students ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 7. Alison has education and experience in literacy assessment, instruction, and intervention.
Since her youth, Alison has thrived in roles mentoring children and youth. Her lifelong aspiration to become a teacher led her to facilitate after-school programs during high school and provide private tutoring in math, English, social studies, and science for Grades 8 to 10.
Alison values the unique learning styles of each child. By leveraging their strengths and interests, she tailors instruction to help students achieve their educational objectives. Alison believes in an active learning approach, emphasizing that students must feel regulated and connected for optimal learning experiences. She integrates a universal design for learning strategy into her tutoring sessions, empowering children to take ownership of their educational journey.

AIJA D.

Aija is currently completing her Bachelor of Education degree through the University of Calgary. She specializes in Elementary sciences, and is confident teaching any subject from K-6. She has her Level 1 Early Childhood Educator certification, and has experience working with students in an elementary school setting from her practicums, volunteer experiences, and class activities.
Aija excels in adapting to diverse learning environments and possesses strong patience, organizational, and time management skills.
Aija is passionate about outdoor and environmental education and is an advocate for play-based and hands-on learning.
Outside of tutoring, her interests include soccer, which she has played her whole life and continues to play today, experiencing new cultures through travel, and spending time with friends and family.

 

 

 

 

Ella M.

Ella is a third year honours biochemistry student at McGill University planning to pursue medical school after graduation. She is also a student researcher working in the Huang Lab at McGill studying ovarian cancer. She is passionate about teaching fundamental studying skills and solidifying students’ knowledge in the scientific field. She has past experience tutoring high school science for a non-profit organization. Ella is available for online or in person tutoring sessions and looks forward to collaborating with her students!

Saumya M.

Saumya has a vast background in various subjects that she is qualified to tutor. She has a background in Arts & Culture through her high school’s SHSM program, focusing on Vocal Music and Musical Theatre. During this time, she taught music theory to grades 9-11 students.

Saumya completed her undergraduate education in Neuroscience, Biology, and Chemistry at the University of Toronto. She is currently finishing her Master of Science degree from the University of Toronto in Cell and Systems Biology. She plans to complete an MD/PhD degree and eventually teach undergraduate university courses as a professor.

Saumya has experience teaching undergraduate small-group tutorials as a Teaching Assistant at U of T Mississauga. Her subjects of expertise include general chemistry, biology, and psychology. She has also given guest lectures and created advanced case studies for human anatomy courses at UofT.

Saumya has won numerous academic and public service awards for her commitment to student success. She has mentored high school and university students academically since 2017. In her free time, Saumya enjoys musical theatre, indoor cycling, solving sudoku puzzles, and trivia games!

 

Robin B.

Robin B. loves working with pre-teens and teens! She has 20+ years teaching, certified in all subjects 1-8 grades.
