LINDSAY H.

Lindsay graduated from the Concurrent Education program at Brock University with a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Studies and a Bachelor of Education in the primary and junior divisions. Since then, she has obtained additional qualifications to enhance her practice in Reading and Mathematics along with to teach Intermediate English, Special Education, English as a Second Language.

Lindsay has experience in Canadian classrooms teaching Math, Language, Science, Social Studies and the Arts in Grades 1 through 8. She has also taught and tutored in Namibia, Peru and China.

Lindsay uses her passion and enthusiasm towards teaching and learning to establish a positive learning environment with her students. She believes an environment where questions are encouraged and mistakes are respected is one that will promote success in each child’s learning. Lindsay recognizes that learning is an individual process and thus works hard to tailor her instruction to use each student’s strengths in order to address their needs.

Lindsay has a passion for working with children both inside and outside the classroom. She spends her spare time coaching children’s soccer as well as volunteering in special education settings within her local school board.

KELLY J.

Kelly Johnson is a certified teacher who has been teaching in Ontario for over 20 years. If you are looking for an expert in her field, with a special knack for making connections and working with children to develop a positive mindset toward learning and improvement, Kelly is the tutor for your child. A true professional, Kelly is a lifelong learner. She understands that learning can present challenges, but there is always a path for growth when you have the right help. Kelly has earned Part 1 of Special Education and her Guidance Specialist. She is currently working on earning her Teacher Librarian additional qualification. Patient and kind, Kelly will help even the most reluctant learner begin to advocate for themselves and take accountability for their engagement in their studies. Her students will tell you that they enjoy her sense of humour, her caring nature and her calm disposition. It won’t take long for your child to warm up to Kelly and begin their learning journey. She enjoys teaching literacy and she is an avid reader – a lover of all books. In addition to being a teacher, Kelly is a wife and mom to two children and one furry animal named Buddy. Siân M.

EN: Siân is currently studying at McGill University in the Faculty of Education. She is in the kindergarten/elementary pédagogie d’immersion française program in hopes of becoming a French immersion elementary school teacher. She has previous experience tutoring grades 3-6 in various subjects in French.
She is very passionate about teaching and enjoys working with young minds. She believes in strong relationships with her students and making learning fun!

CARMEL Y.

Carmel Youkhana completed her Bachelor of Education at Nipissing University in April 2022. Prior to this, she attended Wilfrid Laurier University where she enjoyed completing her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology. Throughout her teenage years, Carmel loved working at various summer camps and tutored English, which is where her passion for working with children began. As she continued to take on teaching roles during her university career, she realized her love for education and learning. For the past year and a half, Carmel has had the pleasure of teaching English to international students ages 3-12 through an online learning platform. She believes in fostering confidence in all her students and has a passion for making learning an enjoyable experience.

During her teaching practicum, Carmel taught students in the intermediate/senior division, specifically grade 8’s and all grades in high school. She has taught a variety of subjects in the classroom but has always had a knack for science/biology and English. Carmel’s job as an English teacher has given her the opportunity to work with a wide range of students in a one- on-one setting, developing her ability to build strong relationships and personalize lessons. She has a strong desire to see students succeed and will guide them to reaching their full potential. Outside of teaching, you can find Carmel hiking, rock climbing, snowboarding, and spending quality time with her friends and family.

Keith R.

Keith Robinson is a professionally certified teacher with more than thirty years’ teaching experience. He grew up in Vancouver, where he developed a keen interest in marine biology. After earning a degree in Biology from UBC, he spent several years working on various research projects at sea, through the Pacific Biological Station in Nanaimo. In the mid-1980s, he decided to go into high school teaching, where he could share his love of science with young people. His teaching career has seen him engaged with students in high school laboratories in northern Canada, and more recently online. His repertoire includes all senior levels of Biology, Chemistry, Math, Physics, Earth Science, and Junior Science.

During his teaching career, Keith’s expertise has been frequently sought by the Ministry of Education on matters related to curriculum, learning resources, and testing. And recently, Keith returned to university, earning his MSc at Royal Roads in Victoria.

No longer in the school lab, Keith Robinson continues to author online courses and to teach senior Chemistry part-time online, where he greatly enjoys connecting with students virtually and helping them achieve their goals. When he is not teaching, Keith can be found cycling and skating the ski trails around Kelowna. During down times, he reads a lot—mostly Tolkien, CS Lewis, Orwell, and Russian literature in translation.

YANLIN S.

Hi, my name is Yanlin Shi.
I graduated with my Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manitoba in June 2022. I started to teach Design of Biomechanical Devices and Mechanics of Materials in January 2019. I currently work as an online teacher for teaching math, physics, and science to students of varying ages from elementary-aged to adults. My teaching goal is to make the direction of learning clear to the student and increase students’ motivation and achievement levels.

I am Aqsa Naseer. I am a certified teacher in Manitoba and have more than 5 years of teaching experience. I have taught the University of Manitoba’s undergraduate students too. MAGDA L.

Magda has 11 years of teaching experience as an elementary French Immersion teacher. She completed her undergraduate degree, which includes a specialization in French, and her Bachelor of Education degree here in Ontario. Over the course of her career, she has worked with a variety of students, differentiating her instruction based on level, needs and goals.

DAVID A.

David taught Math and Science to grade 7 to 11 students for the last fourteen years at English Montreal School Board. He also taught grade 11 and 12 physics, advanced functions and calculus in private school settings. Now he is a teacher at Toronto District School Board. He has many years experience tutoring, both in group settings and one on one.

David is qualified to teach Math and Science at Intermediate and Senior Divisions. He is a graduate from Tbilisi State University with a degree in Science – Physics and a graduate from Ontario Institute for Studies in Education with a bachelor of Education. David has also taken additional qualification courses as part of his professional development as a teacher in Special Education. He differentiated instruction for students with special needs for many years.

David believes that any student can achieve academic success when provided with the proper materials and support that is catered towards their learning style. He quickly develops rapport with students. David is an enthusiastic and energetic teacher who makes learning engaging, fun and meaningful to all his students.
