Stephen M.

Stephen has an Honors Degree in Atmospheric Chemistry with a minor in Statistics. With over 15 years of educational experience, Stephen is currently working for the WRDSB as an itinerant coach In this role he supports Educators in increasing their capacities to deliver dynamic educational experiences to a wide range of students.

Damian K.

Damian graduated from the University of Waterloo with a degree in astrophysics. He is currently completing a Masters of Education program at the University of Toronto. He loves to help students achieve their goals in all sections of high school math and physics.

Melissa P.

Melissa is a Master of Teaching student and a teacher candidate from U of T OISE. She has experience tutoring and teaching a diverse group of high school students ranging from TDSB to the highly academic UTS private school. She is a recent graduate from the University of Toronto and obtained her Honours Bachelor of Science degree, with a double major in human biology and molecular biology. She graduated with a 3.8 GPA so she is very knowledgeable in the field of science, coupled with her experience working as a teaching assistant at U of T, she has all the learning skills and tips that can help students succeed in one of the world’s highest-ranking universities. She will be a certified teacher in Ontario next year after she graduates from her Master of Teaching program. Some of the subjects that she can teach are K-12 Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math, Geography, and Mandarin.

ERIN G.

Erin G. is a chemistry and AP chemistry teacher in Fairfield county and has been teaching for over 13 years. She has experience with teaching and tutoring all levels of chemistry, as well as biology and earth science. Erin has a master’s degree in Biochemistry from Yale University and a master’s degree in Education from the University of New Haven.

Erin has a passion for teaching and helping students recognize their own ability to do hard things. Erin is incredibly patient and is skilled at explaining challenging concepts in ways that are easy to understand. Erin has created a large supply of resources to use during tutoring, including instructional videos, worksheets, and practice problems. She has perfected the technique of both virtual and in person tutoring and is excited to help students succeed.

ELISE D.

Elise Desbordes is a Master’s student in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto, who has traveled far and wide to pursue her passion for sciences. Growing up in a quaint French village and surviving the demanding engineering studies in Paris, she brings a unique perspective to her tutoring efforts. With three years of experience helping high school and undergraduate students in sciences, she is driven by her love for teaching and the art of turning confusion into clarity and stress into success. Elise’s infectious enthusiasm and caring personality create a positive learning environment and inspire her students to build confidence in their unique abilities. She is committed to making learning fun and fulfilling to help her students achieve their full potential and succeed both academically and personally. In her spare time, Elise likes to engage with new people and enjoys playing rugby or any other outdoor sports with her friends.

Heather B.

Heather has a Higher Diploma in Education from the University of Ireland, Galway and is a registered secondary teacher with the Ontario College of Teachers. She has a B.Sc. from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a major in Biology and minors in Biochemistry and Physical Anthropology. She enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her two huskies. Heather is available for tutoring in maths (up to grade 11) and science (up to grade 11 Physics and grade 12 Biology and Chemistry).

RANA M.

Rana graduated with a Bachelor of Science (honors), majoring in theoretical physics and with minors in mathematics and statistics. In addition, Rana holds a Bachelor in applied Biotechnology with distinction with concentration in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, microbiology, genetic engineering, biophysics, organic and inorganic chemistry, bioinformatics and biostatistics among others.

Rana has tutored for many years across science subjects at school and university level, including teaching English as a second language. His teaching approach focuses on an intuition-based foundation building suited to the individual learning style and level of the student. With this approach, students come on board as teammates in a supportive and stress-free learning environment.

Apart from speaking fluently and tutoring students in both English and French, he has fluency in Bengali, Hindi and Urdu as well as reading comprehension in Spanish, Arabic, Persian and Italian. He also has an excellent mastery of history in general and the history of science in particular. Rana resides in Ottawa where he has lived for over 20 years, enjoying biking in the summer and skating in the winter.

ABIGAIL F.

Abigail is a graduate of Queen’s University’s Concurrent Education BAH/B.Ed program with qualifications in Geography and Biology and a specialization in School and Classroom Leadership. She has experience with the International Baccalaureate program and students with exceptionalities.

Abigail’s teaching philosophy revolves encouraging students to rethink their perception of a subject area through engaging inquiry based activities. She prioritizes real life connections to spark interest and provide the ‘why’ behind the content.

Abigail was born in Halifax, NS and moved to BC in 2022. She is passionate about sustainability and bee conservation, and loves to try out new recipes, ski, and read in her free time.

YVONNE S.

Yvonne received her Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary, specializing in Elementary Mathematics. She has been a classroom teacher for almost a decade, working in both public and private schools. Yvonne has taught all core subjects in elementary and middle school grades. Her personal interests include art and cooking.

MATTHEW G.

Matthew graduated from the University of Alberta’s Campus St Jean with a major in Social Studies and a minor in French Language Arts. He has taught French Immersion in Edmonton and Calgary for over 5 years, and has served as a tutor for over 10 years.

Today, Matthew is a law student at the University of Calgary. He remains highly passionate in working with students and helping them achieve their goals!
