Stephanie I.
Stephanie is an Ontario Certified Teacher qualified to teach Junior and Intermediate grades. Stephanie has a Kinesiology degree from Western University and a Physical Education Specialist Bachelor of Education degree from The University of Maine. She has worked in the TDSB for 25 years, with a focus on middle school learners, and as a school-based math coach. Stephanie has successfully taught all subjects in grades 6,7, and 8. She has held roles as STEM instructor, EQAO math marker, and held various positions of responsibility (grade team leader) within her school. Stephanie is currently the head of Physical Education in a TDSB middle school.
Stephanie lives in the GTA area with her husband and teenage daughter. Outside of teaching, Stephanie enjoys coaching and playing various sports, dancing, and socializing with friends.
VICTORIA M.
JOHN (YONGKI) KIM
John has a bachelor degree in Math, Physics, and Education. He has 9 years of teaching high school.
His teaching experience includes a range of grades, student abilities and cultural backgrounds. His goal has been nurturing an environment, rich with opportunities to be active in both body and mind to help all students achieve at their full potential. He uses Universal Design for Learning and differentiation to effectively respond to the characteristics of a diverse group of students. Accommodation and differentiation are practiced continuously to provide suitable types of learning materials and technologies that capitalize on the strengths and address the needs of all students.
OZ S.
Oz Salam is a teacher with the Peel District School Board. He graduated from York University in 2014 with a Bachelor Degree with Honours in History. He then went to York University for Teachers College and graduated from the Urban Diversity Program in 2015 with his Bachelor’s of Education. He joined the PDSB in 2017 and in the 5 years since has supplied in every grade from K-8, as well as completed 7 separate LTO (Long Term Occasional) contracts in Grades 6, 7, and 8 with the longest being a full year. He has continued to improve his skills by taking Additional Qualifications courses, taking his Primary AQ in 2018 and is looking to take more. He is currently working towards a permanent position with the board and has tutored previously prior to the pandemic. His interests outside of teaching include reading, keeping healthy, as well as watching and playing sports.
Brianna C.
Brianna is an experienced tutor in mathematics with a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Western University. She majored in Financial Modelling which greatly enhanced her knowledge in mathematics, computer science, and finance.
Outside of school, Brianna has worked as a high school math and English teacher/tutor at Oxford Learning. She has also worked as a swim instructor and as a camp counsellor for many years.
In her free time she loves to cook, workout, play board games with her family, and travel!
DANIEL M.
Daniel is a certified member of the Ontario College of Teachers, with qualifications for Primary, Junior and Intermediate levels. After completing his Bachelor of Health in Psychology at York University, he proceeded to get his Masters of Science in Education from Medaille College. He then went on to receive a Human Resources Management Certificate from Seneca and an AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) Elementary 6-12 Diploma from the Montessori Training Centre of British Columbia.
Daniel has been teaching for over ten years and has experience with a wide variety of age groups in both public and private schools throughout Toronto and the GTA. He has also taught SAT, SSAT and ACT prep courses. He strives to inject his love of science and the written word into every lesson he teaches. He believes that being able to build a rapport with students, and create a safe and positive learning environment, facilitates success for all students on their way to becoming life-long learners. Daniel is an avid reader, a lover of all animals and an amateur photographer.
Adrien B.
EN: Adrien is a 3rd year student in Mechanical Engineering at Concordia University. Perfectly bilingual, he has been tutoring math and physics both online and in person for over three years. He has a strong interest in astrophysics and artificial intelligence. Along with studying the night sky with his telescope, he has done presentations for the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada and has been published in SkyNews magazine. He worked as a camp counsellor for many summers and is an avid outdoorsman and camper. He can often be found reading in his hammock at Park Mount Royal.
FR: Adrien est étudiant en 3e année de génie mécanique à l’Université Concordia. Parfaitement bilingue, il fait du tutorat en mathématiques et en physique en ligne et en personne depuis plus de trois ans. Il a un grand intérêt pour l’astrophysique et l’intelligence artificielle. En plus d’étudier le ciel nocturne avec son télescope, il a réalisé des présentations pour la Société royale d’astronomie du Canada et a été publié dans le magazine SkyNews. Il a travaillé comme animateur de camp pendant de nombreux étés et est un passionné de plein air et de camping. On peut souvent le trouver en train de lire dans son hamac au parc du Mont-Royal.
RUCHI K.
Ruchi has taught high school students in various countries including Canada, Qatar and India. She is proud of teaching at Merrick Preparatory School (https://www.merrickprep.com/academic-staff) in Ottawa with a focus on SCH3U, SCH4U and SNC2D. In addition to in-person classes, she has also taught online courses at Queen’s Elite Academy (https://queenscanada.com/) using Moodle as the learning platform and taught enhanced science and math courses at Reidmount Saturday school (https://www.reidmount.com/).
Focusing on basic concepts in Chemistry, Physics, Math and Biology, Ruchi is happy to have helped many students who eventually got admissions in top universities in the UK, Canada and the US.
Ruchi is passionate and enthusiastic about educating youth, and is dedicated to providing the best experience to all her students. Her teaching techniques are based on the individual needs of the students. A small baseline data testing conducted on the first day helps to design the methodology of the next line of action. She incorporates a variety of creative tools and teaching practices to enhance student involvement, and through innovative means and the integration of new technologies, she inspires students to love learning science and math at various levels.
In her free time, she loves to work out and cook for a healthy lifestyle.
TIAWNI C.
Tiawni has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Alberta and will be working on her Master’s in Special Education from Queen’s University. She has been teaching since 2003 and has worked with students in diverse settings, with a focus on primary literacy. Tiawni enjoys working one-on-one with students to support their individual style of learning and seeing them progress, especially in their own confidence and ability to see their potential being discovered. She believes that student engagement is key for an effective learning environment.
Tiawni enjoys spending time outdoors – especially hiking in the mountains and seeing waterfalls. One or more of her four dogs often accompany her on these adventures!
Meet (Krishna) B.
Krishna has a strong command on teaching students using the socratic method and has received overwhelmingly positive results in his career. Krishna has been the head of the Science and Math department at a private school. Krishna aims to provide an in-depth education for students that stimulate understanding of the material on a foundational level. Krishna combines his teaching with various models and art-based learning experiences which stimulates a deeper understanding.
He is a creative and innovative thinker with experience teaching students from different ethnic and educational backgrounds. He has the ability to accommodate children with different learning styles
Krishna’s educational background includes a Honours Bachelor of Science where he specialized in Human Biology.
