DANIEL C.
My name is Daniel. I am qualified to teach Grades K – 12. My teachable subject areas include the Social Sciences, Mathematics, and Law. I also hold additional qualifications in special education (I have my special education specialist), religion, and autism. I have taught a diverse range of subjects. I have experience working with students in the Moderate Communication Program and the Planning for Independence Program in the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board. I have both in-person and virtual teaching experience with special needs and mainstream students in multiple school boards. This includes the Halton Public, Halton Catholic, Peel Catholic, & the Hamilton – Wentworth Catholic District School Board. I have had IEP students with various learning needs in many of my online and in-person classes. I also have diverse teaching experience as I have worked with students across the GTA from grades K-12 through the publicly funded education system and private tutoring. I am now a permanent secondary teacher with the Hamilton – Wentworth Catholic District School Board. As a tutor, I am experienced in delivering customized learning plans designed to address each student’s needs. I strive to support students in developing self-confidence in their academic abilities, and work hard to improve their study habits with the goal of achieving academic success.
Susan C.
Susan builds a positive rapport with students and families by creating a learning environment where it is safe to express ideas and learn from mistakes. She engages students in learning by creating fun lessons based on the student’s interests with meaningful connections to real-life examples. Susan also differentiates the instruction to meet the diverse needs and strengths of each learner to enable them to reach their highest level of achievement.
Susan has a Bachelor of Education from Niagara University with a focus on Primary and Junior education. She also completed an Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Early Childhood Studies from the University of Guelph. She is trained as an Early Childhood Educator with a diploma in Early Childhood Education from Seneca College as well.
Susan is an Ontario Certified Teacher qualified to teach students from kindergarten to grade six. She has been working for the Toronto District School Board for the past 12 years and before that she worked in the LINC Program with ESL students and newcomer families.
In her free time, Susan enjoys DIY projects, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her husband and 2 daughters.
MICAH P.
Micah has a combined Bachelor’s in Education and Spanish/French. She teaches in the Spanish Bilingual Program for the Calgary Board of Education. She currently teaches in an Elementary School but has experience in Junior High as well. Micah was a tutor for Spanish University courses and enjoys helping everyone reach their full academic potential.
SANDRA M.
Sandra is a chemistry teacher with seven years of teaching experience in private, charter and city schools at the middle and high school levels. She is presently teaching applied chemistry and she has experience teaching 7th and 8th grade science, test prep, forensics, and environmental science. All of the classes focus on inclusivity by incorporating different learning levels and styles to better assist the needs of every student.
Sandra’s additional experience comes from tutoring students at the Huntington Learning Center. In this setting, she gained the opportunity to teach chemistry, biology, earth science, organic chemistry, as well as the mathematics portion of SAT/ACT prep to high school students. She also has experience working with younger students aged 5-10 while volunteering in a Croatian parish as a religion and language teacher.
Sandra’s seven year long teaching, volunteering, and tutoring experience has given her the opportunity to develop her own teaching style which is to look at every student as an individual with their own set of skills and ways to learn.
Rachel S.
Rachel has been a member with the Ontario College of Teachers for 10 years. She has worked with children and youth in dynamic contexts, including the classroom and recreational settings. She has three degrees from the University of Toronto, including a Masters of Science and a Bachelors of Education. She graduated with the highest overall average in her undergraduate graduating class in social science and humanities courses. She values building connections, building confidence and supporting students with fun and engaging teaching strategies, direct instructions, tangible examples and connections to everyday life.
Ari S.
Ari completed a Bachelor of Health Sciences with a minor in Philosophy and Religious Studies from Western University. She was the recipient of the Faculty Subject Award at Western University for achieving the highest grade in Religious Studies at Western University. Also, Ari completed an Honours Bachelors Degree in Arts from Thompson Rivers University graduating with High Distinction. Previously, she volunteered as a tutor for high school students in Science (Grade 9), Chemistry and Biology (Grade 10-12) at Mississauga Secondary School. During her undergrad, she tutored multiple students in University-level Writing and Psychology courses. Also, she assisted tutors at Mathnasium. In her spare time, Ari enjoys reading, cooking and hiking. Ari plans to start Teachers College this fall.
SARAH P.
Hi! My name is Sarah, and I am an educator who specializes in science and math. I completed degrees in Secondary Education (grades 7-12) and Science with a specialization in Science Education from the University of Alberta in 2020. Throughout my schooling, I also gained extensive experience working with children and youth through both volunteer and work positions, and thoroughly enjoy engaging with them! I love supporting students by getting to know them and working with them to learn what tools and strategies are going to best empower them to improve and grow in their studies. I am an avid believer in life-long learning, and am dedicated to learning alongside students to be able to facilitate quality educational experiences that meets their needs and goals.
