CHRISTINA R.
Christina Rizopoulos is an experienced, tenured New York City teacher working for the Department of Education. Christina has worked in various classroom settings, and has taught/tutored children from ages 5 to 12. She received her undergraduate Degree from Manhattan College in Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) with concentrations in English and Psychology. She also received her Master’s Degree from Manhattan College in Special Education. Christina has also received training in Social Emotional Learning from Fordham University.
Christina prioritizes clear and open communication with families, and works to create an authentic and strong bond with the children she teaches. She understands the importance of differentiating instruction and materials based on a child’s specific needs to best suit their learning style and strengths.
In her free time, Christina loves to spend time with her family and friends. She is a huge animal lover, and enjoys spending time in nature and exercising. Sometimes she even takes her dog to school!
LISA F.
Lisa is an Ontario Certified Teacher who is qualified to teach K-12. She attended Brock University where she completed the Concurrent Education Program and received both her B.A with a minor in French and Geography as well as her B.Ed. She proceed to complete her Masters of Education at Brock in 2015 with a focus on Leadership and Administration. Lisa has been teaching for approximately 8 years and enjoys helping children learn and understand fundamental skills required to be successful in education and life. She likes to make learning relatable and meaningful by connecting the concepts to hobbies and interests that the child enjoys.
Lisa strives to be a source of positivity and aims to motivate her students to always try their best and work as hard as possible to achieve all of their dreams and goals. She hopes to encourage a passion for life-long learning and to provide students with the tools and confidence they need to be successful in all they do.
In addition to her commitment to her students and education, Lisa enjoys reading books, watching films and tv shows, and going on long walks with her two dogs, Luna and Diesel. She is very passionate about her “furry children” and enjoys finding new trails and places to explore with them. She loves music, art, museums, and historical areas and looks to continue to broaden her knowledge in these areas.

ASHA T.
Asha is a kind and passionate teacher who believes that every child brings their own brand of genius to the table. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor’s degree in Science and attended University of Windsor after for Teacher’s college. She also has additional qualifications in Special Education and Teaching English Language Learners.
Asha has experience teaching students across various age groups and strongly believes in differentiating the lesson to fit the needs of her students. She believes that every child is capable of reaching their full potential with a little encouragement and support along the way. She loves getting students to engage in the material through the use of a variety of activities. Aside from teaching, Asha loves reading, exploring new food spots and trails, and spending time with her friends and family.
Carolyn B.
Carolyn is a certified Primary/Junior teacher graduating from Western University specializing in Mathematics through the Arts. She was born in London, England, has lived in Tokyo, Japan and been in Toronto for 18 years now. Carolyn completed her Undergraduate Degree in Commerce at Queen’s University, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management. Carolyn is a lifelong learner as she completes an IB educator certificate in teaching and learning, and several workshops to expand her coding skills.
Carolyn has loved working with children and was inspired to pursue her Bachelor of Education after working at an overnight summer camp for many years, and from her volunteer work in the classroom. She has supported students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 in literacy development and math in numerous tutoring roles. Carolyn is continuously motivated by her students’ curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. Their energy makes her excited about teaching and building strong relationships with her students, and inspires her to bring relatable content into each session. She has a love of math and hopes to demonstrate the creative side of numbers when problem solving. Carolyn can often be found spending time outside, playing sports or curled up in her hammock reading a good book.
AIMEE C.
Aimee Campbell has over sixteen years of elementary and special education teaching experience. Currently based in East Hampton, Aimee has taught on the East End of Long Island, Connecticut and Louisiana. She possesses a Master of Professional Studies in Elementary (PreK-6th) and Special Education (K-12th) along with a TESOL certification. Aimee is highly trained in multisensory and creative teaching strategies such as the Orton-Gillingham method and specializes in teaching struggling and reluctant learners. Interestingly, prior to her teaching career, Aimee earned a Master of Arts degree in Archaeology from Washington State University and worked on Native American archaeological digs in the Pacific Northwest and the African Burial Ground Project in Lower Manhattan. Students love working with Aimee because her lessons are engaging, interactive, and rewarding.
GEORGE R.
George Rahbari has been teaching at the high school and college level for the past 28 years. His background in biochemistry, statistics, and law qualifies him as an expert in a multitude of areas of education and one of a select group of individuals who can guide students in various areas of education. Additionally, George has worked with a number of college students who are and were seeking admission to medical, law, business, and graduate schools. His greatest attributes aside from subject expertise, include patience and compassion for students of all abilities and aptitudes.
Eileen L.
Eileen is a Clinical Research Coordinator for both the Neurology and the Interventional Neuroradiology departments at the University Health Network. She has a master’s degree in Medical Science, as well as an Honour’s bachelor’s in science – both with a specialization in Neuroscience. As someone who has been praised for her interpersonal skills, Eileen interacts with students differently depending on their knowledge, personality, interests, and other information she obtains throughout their interaction. She believes it is always important to listen and understand what the student is struggling with. For her students to not be afraid to share their thoughts, she always takes the non-judgmental approach and reinforces the idea of a safe and comfortable tutoring environment with her students. Students who have been tutored by Eileen in the past often compliment her capability to explain difficult concepts, and this is mainly because she understands their weakness and knows how to target that. During her spare time, Eileen likes to run, read, sing, and play musical instruments.
ALEXANDRA C.
Alexandra has an Undergraduate Degree in Business Management and a Minor in Italian Studies from Roger Williams University. She has a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Manhattanville College. She is certified in Early Childhood Education Birth-2nd Grade as well as Childhood Education 1-6th Grade. Alexandra also is certified in Students with Disabilities Birth-6th Grade. She is currently enrolled at Molloy College to pursue an additional certification in English to Speakers of Other Languages. She is currently a Math AIS provider as well as being a teacher in a 3rd grade Inclusion classroom. Alexandra has a lot of experience tutoring students and working with students from Pre-Kindergarten to 6th grade. She has been an ABA provider for her school district for over 3 years. She also has a lot of experience in Wilson and Fundations. She has a passion for teaching and makes sure that she is doing everything possible to meet the needs of her students. She loves to use a variety of materials, strategies, and resources in order to help each and every student be successful. Her motto is, “Don’t say you can’t, Say YOU CAN!”

SANDRA S.
Sandra’s passion for teaching came after she left the United States Marine Corps in 1998. After leaving the Marine Corps, she enrolled in a bachelor’s program at Long island University (CW Post) and received her degree in elementary education. After graduation, she enrolled in a master’s Program at Dowling College where she received her master’s degree in special education. Sandra currently holds 4 New York State Teaching Certifications (Birth-6th grade, General Education and Special Education). Sandra has a passion for teaching and motivating children to become independent and lifelong learners. Sandra currently teaches grades 3-6 in a public school on Long Island. Sandra has tutored for the past 14 years. In Sandra’s spare time, she loves to be out on the water boating with her husband and 6-year-old son.
ELISA C.
Elisa Cullaro earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) and her Master’s Degree in Special Education (Grades 1-6) from Manhattan College. To further develop her teaching practices and continue her growth as an educator, Elisa has recently completed TESOL graduate courses at The College of Mount Saint Vincent and she is working towards acquiring her TESOL advanced certificate.
Elisa has been a passionate NYC public school teacher for 5 years, where she has had the opportunity to teach kindergarten, second and third grade. Throughout her experience thus far, Elisa has worked with children of various learning styles, abilities, and backgrounds. Each year she strives to develop a strong rapport with her students and families, which she believes is essential in a child’s learning experience. Her passion, patience, and empathy foster a sense of encouragement and motivation in her classroom where her students can experience success and joy while learning.
In her free time, Elisa enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, traveling, and taking long walks with her dogs.
