Michael Z.
Hello!
My name is Michael and I am currently enrolled in the Masters of Education program at Ontario Tech University. I have previously completed my honours Bachelor in Chemistry with a minor in biological science. I am passionate about teaching and learning new things, I love finding new creative ways of solving problems and incorporating technology into lessons. I have extensive experience in science courses and I am comfortable teaching students of any age. While I particularly enjoy chemistry and biology, I am also comfortable teaching physics, general science and intermediate math. I also really enjoy learning new technology and I have some experience with coding. In my free time I enjoy going hiking and being outdoors, playing video games, watching tv and movies, cooking and exercising.
Michael I.
Having graduated from York University’s Bachelor of Education program in 2020 Michael is now working as a supply teacher within the Toronto District School Board and York Region District School Board. He is qualified to teach Language, Math, Science, History, Geography, Art, Social Studies, and Physical Education up to grade 8, and specializes in Arts and English for senior students. Michael also has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theatre performance and, over his 9 years working in the arts, has performed and taught Shakespeare to students of all ages, worked within First Nations communities, and performed in interactive theatre pieces with students addressing relevant problems effecting their lives. Putting students at the centre of their learning and finding ways to connect them to curriculum – thereby growing their curiosity – is what excites Michael most. From there, he believes that building from their previous knowledge and developing learning goals together is an effective way to empower their drive.
Michael has traveled to China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, and across Europe and he brings his passion of exploring other cultures to his pedagogy. In every lesson there is a chance to reflect the society in which we live. He is a lover of the environment, books, movies, and videogames, and usually has much in common with his students.

Sarah has over 20 years teaching experience with high school students in a variety of subjects, including mathematics, physics and science.
Jennifer T.
Jennifer has been teaching for the Toronto District School Board for 20 years. She has also been tutoring students for 15 years in the Toronto area. Jennifer graduated from the University of Western Ontario with her Bachelors of Education.
Throughout her 20 years in the Toronto District School Board, she has taught all grades from JK-Grade 6. Jennifer has obtained her Physical Education Specialist as well as an additional qualification in Reading Part 1 and Special Education. Additionally, Jennifer has guided students through the Leaps and Bounds remedial math program.
Jennifer enjoys helping students set achievable goals and focus on how to attain them together. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys playing volleyball and tennis with her two daughters, aged 13 and 11.
MEGAN P.
Hi! My name is Meg and I am an OCT Primary/Junior teacher. I love art, reading, and exploring nature! To all my work, I bring an unrivaled passion for and testament to the transformative power of education. In teaching environments, I have demonstrated highly energetic and inclusive approaches to making learning a fun and safe experience for children. I’ve worked as a summer camp counsellor, preschool teacher, recreation sports instructor, recreation dance instructor, recreation art instructor, swim lesson assistant, ON Early Years assistant, and primary literacy tutor. I have a great deal of experience working with students who have been identified as needing intensive literacy intervention. Ultimately, I believe that learning should be guided by children’s interests and support their self-determination. I look forward to working with you!
STEPHANIE K.
Stephanie is an Ontario Certified Teacher. She graduated from York University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Sociology. In 2019, she graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Education in Primary/ Junior grade levels and a concentration in Exceptional Learners. Stephanie has taught in a variety of school settings, including both the Catholic and Public School Boards and Private Schools in the Primary and Junior Divisions. Stephanie also holds additional qualifications in Special Education and Teaching English Language Learners. Stephanie’s empathy, positive attitude, enthusiastic leadership and responsibility, are some of the characteristics which she brings forth as a result of her experiences with teaching students. She will continue to educate and inspire young minds as a teacher. Overall, her goal is to support all students’ needs and to get children excited about learning!
Outside of the classroom and tutoring, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, staying active by going to the gym and yoga.
KATHRYN M.
Kathryn “Katie” Meyers has been teaching for six years for the New York City Department of Education. Katie holds a master’s degree in Literacy and is certified to work with children in grades 1-6. She is a middle school special education teacher for the 5th and 6th grades and works with students who have mild to severe learning differences, as well as gifted and talented students. Katie works with children to strengthen their reading comprehension and math skills. Katie’s approach to teaching takes into account her own struggles with math as a child, and gives her a unique ability to relate to her students. Katie strives to imbed her lessons with cognitive tools and strategies in order to foster independence and confidence. Katie believes that all children are capable of academic success and just need the extra support and guidance to do so.
TINA M.
Tina recently graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelors in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering. She is now pursuing a Master’s
with a focus in clinical engineering, in hopes to pursue work in industry or academia. Her appreciation for teaching was cultivated when she began
tutoring in her high-schools academic help program. She went on to teach professionally throughout her university degree, serving as a course
teaching assistant, as well as a private tutor in a variety of academic subjects. Her areas of expertise lie in the sciences, math and technology at a primary to first-year university level. She also has experience tutoring the CARS section of the MCAT after scoring in the 98th percentile herself. Tina believes in a teaching style that focuses on catering to the students’ needs and uses feedback in order to improve. She also believes in fostering long-term learning habits and strategies that are applicable beyond the subject being taught. In her spare time, Tina likes to do graphic design and play the piano.
Colleen C.
Colleen has a Masters of Teaching in general sciences and biology for Intermediate/Senior grades from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. She also holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree specializing in biopharmaceuticals. Colleen has developed and presented both grade 9 and 10 general science courses that were adapted for her students. She works tirelessly to create content that highlights the strength in her students while supporting the development of their needs. Colleen has always found meaningful volunteer opportunities in education, she has traveled to several remote Indigenous communities to present hands-on science experiments. She is passionate about merging content and experiences together to make learning fun. Colleen has worked in a northern Quebec community as their senior science teachers for two years. During this time, she has returned to school to gain the Intermediate Math qualification.
ELIZABETH H.
I received my Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of Manitoba in 2018. Since then I have been teaching courses in the Departments of Microbiology and Biological Sciences at the U of M. Before university I attended elementary and high school in a French immersion program.
I have always been a band geek and still play trumpet in a community jazz band. I play ultimate frisbee and I curl. I am also a mom to a little girl. I am a nerd who loves reading books in the fantasy genre and playing board games.
