Pearl is a caring and thoughtful teacher looking to inspire all her students to be successful learners. Pearl graduated from Brock University in the Concurrent Education program with a Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Studies. She also has additional qualifications in Special Education, English as a Second Language, Reading, Kindergarten, and Primary/Junior Math. Pearl is currently a teacher with the Halton District School Board working with a variety of students in an ESL teacher role. Pearl is very dedicated to her students and always encourages them to reach their full potential. Pearl loves to make learning fun and is looking forward to inspiring her students to be motivated learners and critical thinkers!
ARYAN G.
Aryan is a recent graduate from McMaster University with a degree in Health Sciences. Currently, continuing with his interest, he is applying to medical school and hopes to stay in Toronto. Aryan’s passion for tutoring dates back to high school, where he started as a volunteer for Harbord Collegiate’s tutoring centre. From there, Aryan decided to pursue a private tutoring business on his own, coming up with personalized study material and strategies for students mostly referred to him by his teachers. Upon moving to Hamilton to start university, Aryan spent 4 years volunteering for Frontier College, tutoring children age 6-11, mostly focusing on reading comprehension and writing skills. He also managed to tutor his peers in university-level courses he had experience with. In his 4th year, Aryan was hired to be a Teaching Assistant for the second year Health, Attitude, and Behaviour course within his program. As the Health Sciences program focuses on self-directed learning, Aryan gained professional experience in facilitating a teaching style that engages students directly with their own learning and success. From early on, Aryan has been able to develop a personalized model for each of his students. He has always been receptive to feedback and strived to formulate his teaching style in the best way that suits his students’ concerns. In his spare time, Aryan enjoys playing and watching soccer. As a music enthusiast, he also spends time playing the guitar.
JESSECA B.
Jesseca has completed her Bachelor of Education degree with a focus on the Primary and Junior divisions at York University. Jesseca has a background in an Honours Biomedical Science program from which she graduated with distinction. Jesseca’s passion for teaching grew out of her time as a counsellor and head counsellor at a local summer camp. Additionally she teaches programs including STEM, public speaking, ballet and soccer at her local community centre. Through the success of the programs and watching her campers flourish, Jesseca realized that she wanted to pursue a career in education. Although she has a focus on the Primary and Junior divisions, her enthusiasm for science has brought her to tutor high school and junior division sciences. Jesseca has a passion for working with people of all ages, and enjoys baking and cooking when she has time. Although she can only make pasta for now, it’s as she says: practice makes progress
MEENU G.
Meenu has over ten years of tutoring and teaching experience mathematics to university, college and high school students. She possesses a Master’s degree in Mathematics, Bachelor’s degree with Physics, Chemistry and Math as major and Ontario College of teacher’s certification for senior Mathematics. She holds great knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum in the science and mathematics areas as she has been a summer school teacher and a tutor at many post-secondary schools in Toronto. She is a flexible and organized professional with an unparalleled ability to explain complicated concepts in an easily understandable manner. Her one-to-one tutoring strategy prepare student ahead of class so that student feel confident and encouraged to participate actively in classroom discussion. Her experience allows her to carefully select questions, where most students make common mistakes, preparing them for possible evaluation questions. Through her teaching and mentoring experience at Pathways to Education, she is exposed to students of many different backgrounds, and has developed the ability to build a personal connection with them.
She loves spending time with her family and cooking. As a mother of two, she strongly believes that every child has ability to succeed through encouragement and support to further their education.
JOSE E.
Jose has background in mechanical engineering and a Master of Science in engineering, with multiple achievements throughout his career including graduate and postgraduate scholarships, Honoris Causa degree, patent applications and academic publications, among others. He has 4+ years of experience as engineer in fields such as robotics, data science and engineering design. He’s also led different classrooms, teaching quantitative subjects including programming, engineering physics and mathematics, while providing guidance and mentoring for senior students and undergrads. His interest in learning and curiosity led him to master English, Spanish, French and some German. In his spare time, Jose enjoys reading and practicing sports with friends such as soccer and basketball. In his teaching career he has always been interested in sharing with his students how practical tricks, habits and framing can help students master difficult subjects and succeed.
NATALIE L.
Natalie received her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto, Ontario in 2006 with a major in Political Science and a minor in French, followed by a Bachelor of Education from the Queensland University of Technology located in Australia specializing in Primary, Junior grade levels. This is where Natalie’s international journey began.
Natalie has taught overseas for the past 10 years in Australia, Antigua & Barbuda (Caribbean) and Abu Dhabi (Middle East) across all grade levels and subject areas, creating inclusive environments where students have opportunities to explore, develop, reflect and gain confidence in every facet o their life.
She also has a love for playing sports, music and traveling.
SADHNA C.
Sadhna is an Ontario certified teacher (OCT) with almost 30 years of experience of teaching. She completed her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Daemen College Buffalo, New York, U.S.A. and has worked for the Peel District School Board. She also has taught internationally in Asia, Middle East and Canada; educating children from various backgrounds. Sadhna has mentored students and motivated them in excelling in Standardized Examinations as well.
Besides her passion for teaching, Sadhana’s interests include gardening, travelling and spending time with her family.
DIVYA S.
Divya recently graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science in Geoscience, GIS, and Psychology. She completed a teaching assistant position at the University of Toronto in the Earth History, Mineralogy, and Petrology. During the summer months, Divya has worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Toronto, providing students as well as professors assistance with creating visuals, simplifying articles, editing scientific articles. She has an open perspective, and is adaptive in her methods of solving problems. She is currently working towards expanding her technical skill set by participating in a data science program.She enjoys collecting minerals, 3D printing, reading, and swimming. Along with an affinity for science, Divya has a passion for math, taking electives in calculus, statistics, and linear algebra. She has also participated in several of the University of Waterloo Mathematical Competitions.
