MARIA H.

Maria is a passionate and driven person who recently graduated from McGill University with a degree in Psychology. She completed her degree in only three years while maintaining a competitive GPA, which speaks to her strong work ethic and deep commitment to learning. Her academic journey reflects the same energy and dedication she brings to every tutoring session. Currently applying to medical school, Maria has a deep love for the sciences and is excited to share her knowledge in biology, chemistry, psychology, and earth sciences.
Maria’s teaching experience began with the Youth Empowering Youth non-profit organization, where she taught young adults and discovered just how rewarding it is to see students light up when they understand a new concept. That spark is what motivates her every day.
Maria’s love for languages shines through in her ability to connect with students in both Spanish and French. With a Brazilian background and a minor in Hispanic Studies, she feels confident teaching Spanish at various levels.

After living in Montreal for the past three years, Maria immersed herself in a French-speaking environment. She earned a French language certificate from Laval University’s Explore Program and worked in customer service in French, making her equally confident in supporting students in French.

Maria creates a warm, encouraging space where students feel confident, supported, and excited to learn. She believes that with the right guidance and a little kindness, every student can thrive.

LAURA H.

Laura has a Bachelor’s of Education degree majoring in Kinesiology from the University of Regina. She also holds a Inclusive Education Certificate from Athabasca University. She is currently a sixth year teacher and has worked with Rocky View Schools (4 years) and currently works with Calgary Catholic School District (1 year-present). She is currently a Junior High Physical Education teacher and Athletic Director. She has experience teaching English Language Arts, Religion, and Physical Eeducation with junior high students in grades 7-9. She also has experience with all subject areas with elementary students in grades 3-6.
Laura was a University of Regina Varsity track and field athlete who also currently coaches club track and field with Caltaf.

Lisa is a certified teacher with 25 years of experience teaching 4th–8th grade across all subjects. In her free time, Lisa enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and traveling with her husband, two daughters, and their two dogs.

Breanna L.

Breanna is a dedicated educator with a passion for helping young learners. She graduated from Elmhurst University in May of 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, an endorsement for teaching Multilingual English Learners, a letter of approval to teach Early Childhood Special Education, and a minor in Music.

Breanna is a first-year Kindergarten teacher excitedly preparing to continue teaching Kindergarten in her second year next fall. With many years of childcare experience behind her, having worked as a babysitter, nanny, and tutor, she brings a warm and patient approach to teaching. She enjoys finding ways to make learning fun and meaningful.

In her free time, Breanna loves to sing, play instruments, crochet, and hike. She loves to spend time with her family. She has a family dog named Riley. She also adopted her first pet in August – an 8 year old cat named Callie!

SAM A. M.

Sam Sina is a dedicated tutor in his final year of a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology at York University, specializing in biochemistry. He also holds an Associate of Science from George Brown College and previously completed a Bachelor of Science in Iran with a strong foundation in biology and chemistry. With over seven years of tutoring experience, Sam supports students across a wide range of subjects including biology, chemistry, physics, general science, and all levels of math, including calculus.

Sam has worked with learners from diverse academic backgrounds, including those in the Ontario and Alberta school systems. He is fluent in both English and Persian, and is able to teach effectively in either language. WESLEY L.

Wesley L. is an Ontario Certified Teacher (#733954). He grew up in the suburbs of Aurora, Ontario where he then lived most of his young adult life and educational life in Toronto, Ontario. In the city, he completed his bachelors of Kinesiology at University of Toronto and then went on to complete his bachelor of education at Tyndale University in Toronto. Moving on from education, Wesley believes in the growth of all students and is driven to help them reach their goals and development potential (which is never done!). Not only does Wesley believe in educational/intellectual growth, but also he believes strongly in mental health and physical health development. Wesley is an advocate for healthy movement, a healthy mind, and great well-being. Therefore, Wesley partakes in basketball, gym, and other activities that promote well-being. Going back to his professional experiences, he has taught multiple classes at differing grade levels, most notable a grade 7/8 class for a prolonged time period. His expertise is within the subjects of math, science, health, and language. Additionally, he is able to teach intermediate and senior grades as he completed additional courses giving him the tools and credentials to succeed. Furthermore, his interpersonal skills are strong and so relationship building amongst students is no problem at all. With over nine years of experience teaching French Immersion, Spanish Bilingual and FSL in both Canada and Europe, Sara brings a wealth of expertise and a deep passion for helping students find their voice.

Fluent in French, Spanish, English, and Arabic, Sara holds three master’s degrees, including Educational Psychology and Intercultural Communication. She currently teaches within the French Immersion Program and is known for creating inclusive, student-centered environments where learners feel safe to take risks and grow.

Sara understands that every child learns differently, and she takes the time to truly connect—building trust, adapting to individual needs, and celebrating progress along the way. Her calm, encouraging presence helps even the most hesitant students gain confidence and joy in language learning.
