Samuelle F.
EN: Samuelle Fortin is a bilingual educator and mentor specializing in secondary and post-secondary learning. She is completing her master’s in Sociology at McGill University, where she also earned a Joint Honours B.A. in Sociology and French Literature. As a Teaching Assistant in McGill’s sociology department, she helped students synthesize and process dense course material, designed visual learning aids for neurodivergent students and those with non-linear thinking patterns, and used relational teaching to connect abstract concepts to students’ lived experiences.
Samuelle currently tutors Ukrainian university students in English through the ENGin program and mentors youth aged 16 to 21 with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Montreal. She has expertise in essay writing and exam preparation. Her lesson plans follow a structured yet adaptable framework, beginning with goal-setting and a directive approach, and moving toward independent application. Her primary aim is to foster lasting academic independence so students can confidently apply their learning in the long term.

Elle termine actuellement sa maîtrise en sociologie à l’Université McGill, où elle a également obtenu un baccalauréat spécialisé conjoint en sociologie et littérature française. En tant qu’assistante d’enseignement au département de sociologie de McGill, elle a aidé les étudiants à synthétiser et assimiler un contenu de cours dense, conçu des supports visuels d’apprentissage pour les étudiants neurodivergents et ceux ayant des modes de pensée non linéaires, et mis en œuvre une approche pédagogique relationnelle pour relier des concepts abstraits aux expériences vécues des étudiants.
Samuelle est actuellement tutrice d’anglais auprès d’étudiants universitaires ukrainiens dans le cadre du programme ENGin et mentore des jeunes âgés de 16 à 21 ans avec Grands Frères Grandes Sœurs du Grand Montréal. Elle possède une expertise en rédaction de dissertations et en préparation aux examens. Ses plans de cours suivent un cadre structuré mais adaptable, commençant par la définition d’objectifs et une approche directive, puis évoluant vers une application autonome. Son objectif principal est de favoriser une autonomie académique durable afin que les étudiants puissent appliquer leurs apprentissages avec confiance à long terme.
RAHMI C.
Rahmi C. holds a Master of Science in Environmental Applied Science and Management, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences, both from Toronto Metropolitan University. Over the past three years, he’s taught more than 15 university courses, with an emphasis on subjects like first-year chemistry, biology, physics, and calculus, as well as lab-based and senior-level biomedical sciences courses. Throughout his time as a teaching assistant, Rahmi also supported exam preparation and proctoring, giving him a deep understanding of how to help students succeed at every level.
In addition to his university experience, Rahmi has tutored students from Grades 2 to 8, focusing on small group or one-on-one settings to give each student the attention they deserve. He regularly visited students’ schools, reviewed assignments in advance, and worked directly with their teachers to better understand their strengths and areas for improvement. His goal is always to build confidence, not just comprehension.
Outside of academics, Rahmi runs an international export business, which has sharpened his communication and problem-solving skills. He brings that same attention to detail and relationship-building to his tutoring style.
When he’s not working, Rahmi enjoys volleyball, gaming, and spending time with his two cats, Machu and Pichu — named after his bucket-list destination, Machu Picchu.
MATTHEW H.
Matthew Houk is a 28 year old substitute teacher in Saskatoon, SK. They graduated from the College of Education at the University of Saskatchewan with honours and have a wide range of experiences in elementary classrooms (K-8) both in the city and in rural areas such as Hutterite Colonies. Matthew’s strengths as an educator are finding connections with students, connecting students interests/needs to learning, and using real-world scenarios to help students understand what they are learning. They feel that if learning has connections to reality it makes it easier for learners to understand it. The Social Sciences are their primary teaching areas followed by Fine Arts; but Matthew is able to pick up and teach just about anything if needed. When not teaching they enjoy painting, reading, playing tabletop games with friends, and camping.
AMELIA C.
Hello everyone! My name is Amelia Ciarciaglini, and my pronouns are she/her. In my free time, I love playing video games, and I even took on the fun challenge of building my own computer! I’m super fascinated by stars and constellations because astrophotography is one of my favourite hobbies. I can play a variety of instruments—some of them are a bit out of the ordinary! I am in secondary education, majoring in social studies and health as a minor. However, I would love to teach psychology as a class. I now work as an EA for Regina Public and Prairie Valley, and I genuinely love doing my job every single day!

Chris is currently completing her final year of Education at the University of Manitoba. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an English minor. She is passionate about teaching using multiple modalities, particularly using art and the outdoors to help make learning deeply meaningful and impactful.

Erin is passionate about teaching and learning and loves to work with families to help children succeed.
Sally C.
Sally has a Master’s of Education degree and has been a teacher in Sarasota for 11 years. She has expertise in Social Science grade 6-12 and experience teaching Reading, and English Language Arts.
LAURA H.
Laura has a Bachelor’s of Education degree majoring in Kinesiology from the University of Regina. She also holds a Inclusive Education Certificate from Athabasca University. She is currently a sixth year teacher and has worked with Rocky View Schools (4 years) and currently works with Calgary Catholic School District (1 year-present). She is currently a Junior High Physical Education teacher and Athletic Director. She has experience teaching English Language Arts, Religion, and Physical Eeducation with junior high students in grades 7-9. She also has experience with all subject areas with elementary students in grades 3-6.
Laura was a University of Regina Varsity track and field athlete who also currently coaches club track and field with Caltaf.

Sara is a Junior/Intermediate teacher candidate in her second year of the Bachelor of Education program at Wilfrid Laurier University. She previously earned a Bachelor of Kinesiology from Wilfrid Laurier in 2021, with Health and Physical Education as her teachable subjects.
Her decision to pursue education stems from a commitment to fostering student success and creating inclusive learning environments. Inspired by the impactful educators in her own academic journey, she strives to support diverse learners through differentiated instruction and culturally relevant pedagogy.
With experience teaching Grades 3 to 8 through four practicum placements, Sara has been recognized for her professionalism, competency, and strong relationship-building skills. She is dedicated to continuous learning and growth, ensuring her teaching practices evolve to meet the needs of all students.
WESLEY L.
Wesley L. is an Ontario Certified Teacher (#733954). He grew up in the suburbs of Aurora, Ontario where he then lived most of his young adult life and educational life in Toronto, Ontario. In the city, he completed his bachelors of Kinesiology at University of Toronto and then went on to complete his bachelor of education at Tyndale University in Toronto. Moving on from education, Wesley believes in the growth of all students and is driven to help them reach their goals and development potential (which is never done!). Not only does Wesley believe in educational/intellectual growth, but also he believes strongly in mental health and physical health development. Wesley is an advocate for healthy movement, a healthy mind, and great well-being. Therefore, Wesley partakes in basketball, gym, and other activities that promote well-being. Going back to his professional experiences, he has taught multiple classes at differing grade levels, most notable a grade 7/8 class for a prolonged time period. His expertise is within the subjects of math, science, health, and language. Additionally, he is able to teach intermediate and senior grades as he completed additional courses giving him the tools and credentials to succeed. Furthermore, his interpersonal skills are strong and so relationship building amongst students is no problem at all. Wesley strives to be an amazing tutor that provides an effective and fun session with the various learners that he connects with!
