JORGE S.

Jorge is a student, tutor, and published author. He is studying Computational Applied Mathematics and Philosophy at the University of Calgary and has extensive experience tutoring, particularly in the maths and sciences.

Jorge strives to understand where each student is at and their unique learning curve. He works with his students to formulate a plan for their studies to help them reach their academic goals.

 

AMY C.

Amy is a Bachelor of Education student at Mount Royal University. She previously completed a Bachelors and a Master’s degree in Music Performance, providing her the opportunity to teach in both the classroom and individual studio settings. Amy returned to school to become an elementary school teacher after experiencing the magic of teaching dyslexic children to read. She firmly believes all children are capable of learning with evidence-based instruction, practice, and patience.

In her free time, Amy enjoys reading aloud to her three children, sewing, quilting, and journaling.

 

 

JULIE G.

Julie is dedicated to helping students succeed both inside and outside the classroom. With a BA in Child Studies, she is enthusiastic about supporting students at home to help them reach their full academic potential. Julie has worked closely with students during her semester-long placement at Lower Canada College, where she helped create fun and engaging learning experiences, as well as developed lesson plans. As a private tutor, she has worked with high school, CEGEP, and university-aged students, assisting them with reading and writing for English and some humanities courses, including psychology, sociology.

In addition to her teaching experience, Julie worked as a camp counselor at a sleep-away camp, where she nurtured personal growth and created a fun, supportive environment for young campers. She believes that engaging students through their curiosity and interests is key to helping them gain the confidence they need to succeed.

Julie also has experience volunteering at Chabad Lifeline, a not-for-profit addiction centre, where she provided support to families in crisis, as well as Kids Help Phone, offering support to kids across Canada.

In her spare time, Julie enjoys reading and is passionate about health and wellness, frequently attending workout classes. She knows that a healthy body and mind are essential for students to thrive and succeed.

HARMAN T.

My name is Harman. I’m a dedicated educator with a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Winnipeg, specializing in English with a minor in Geography. I have experience teaching a variety of subject areas from kindergarten to grade 8. With six years of teaching experience, including two terms in grades 1 and 2, I bring a passion for fostering learning environments. I Currently, I’m actively involved in substitute teaching, committed to supporting students’ academic growth. My teaching style revolves around individualized instruction, recognizing and catering to each student’s unique strengths and learning preferences. I strive to create a personalized learning experience that nurtures their abilities and fosters a deep understanding of the subject matter. By tailoring my approach to each student, I aim to maximize their potential and instil a lifelong love for learning.

Most P.

Most Roshanara P. is a highly experienced Biology and Science teacher, trainer, and student counselor with 11 years of experience in secondary and higher secondary schools. She has a Master’s degree in Teaching, Learning, and Leadership from the University of Regina, enhancing her skills in assisting students and families with ethnic diversity and intellectual ability. Her other Master’s degree in Science as well as relevant teaching experience in Human Physiology, Biology, Intermediate Science, and Junior Mathematics for the last 11 years in secondary and higher secondary schools helped her achieve resilience in the learning and teaching process.

Most P. has a strong belief in inclusive pedagogies, indigenous teaching methods, and trauma-informed practices. She has worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, gaining knowledge in Standard First-AIDs Level-C with CPR & AED, and a micro-credential for supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Most Pervin has also worked in elementary school settings with special needs students, developing social and interpersonal skills, mindfulness, collegial leadership, and diverse environments. She is passionate about promoting engagement in learning for both institutional and individual success.

Most P. loves to visit countryside mountains, swim, do yoga, watch movies, paint, sing and read books.
