AMANDA F.

Hi there! I’m Amanda, an OCT certified teacher with a passion for education that spans over 20 years. A graduate of the University of Western Sydney’s teachers college, I specialize in intensive support programs,  full-day kindergarten, literacy and special education.. I have a Diploma and a Degree in Recreation Leadership, and hold additional qualifications as a Reading and Special Education Specialist.

I bring an unwavering belief in the competence and capability of every child with the proper support. My approach revolves around emergent learning and play-based education, integrating strategies like Universal Design for Learning (UDL).  These approaches ensure that each student receives an education tailored to their unique needs, fostering a sense of inclusivity and empowerment.

Beyond academics, my life in Toronto revolves around my husband, our two children and our dog Willow, reflecting my commitment to family and outdoor activities. Summers are spent up north, supporting my husband in his role as a Director of a summer camp, embodying my belief in holistic and engaging learning experiences.

Maya S.

Maya is a Mathematics graduate from the University of Toronto who has been working in the education field for over 3 years.

Since completing her degree she has worked as a tutor for students of all ages and subjects. After becoming coordinator of a tutoring centre where she oversaw the academics of 100+ students, Maya decided to get back into the classroom and took on a supply position teaching grade 11 and 12 Maths, Physics and Computer Sciences.

In her free time, Maya enjoys spending time with her cat while catching up on the latest in hockey when she is not travelling.

 

 

 

 

INGRID L.

Ingrid was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico. She graduated from ESNECA College with a Masters Degree in Clinic Psychopedagogy and from The University of Monterrey with a Bachelors Degree in Psychopedagogy. She recently moved to Vancouver and she is currently studying an ECE Diploma. Her experience in teaching grades 1 to 6 and specialization in inclusion of ASD and learning difficulties in the classroom have strengthened her education background.

Ingrid is a dedicated and passioned teacher who believes that children should be cherished in a safe, loving, and comfortable learning environment. Her beliefs are inspiring students to grow as passionate learners by expanding the traditional subjects and creating out of the curriculum meaningful experiences and opportunities to act with integrity and empathy and to become impactful global thinkers.

Belonging to a caring family, has shaped her into a more compassionate, kind and understanding person. It has instilled in her a strong sense of responsibility and a desire to reciprocate the care and love received from her family to the people around her.

In her spare time, she enjoys long walks in the outdoors, connecting with nature, coffee with friends and reading a good book.

 

 

 

INES T.

Ines has a Master Degree in Marketing and has a Bachelor degree in Education. She is an Ontario Certified Teacher with 10 years of teaching experience. Ines is a native french who teaches maths, sciences and french at a public elementary school. Additionally, she completed an AQ (additional qualification) in Special Education. She has a strong experience working with students with special needs (Autistic spectrum, TDAH, learning disabilities, dyslexia, dyscalculia …).
Ines has a true passion for helping students grow and reach their full potential, she is committed to working with them in a personalized manner to help them achieve their goals.
Her enthusiasm, her energy and her ability to capture the attention of her students make her an excellent teacher who masters all disciplines.

Chris S.

Chris graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Political Science and Asian Studies in addition to a Bachelor’s degree in Education. He has taught in public education for more than two decades, with considerable experience in the gifted and Advanced Placement (AP) programs. He most recently completed the post-graduate fiction writing program at the Humber School for Writers, working directly under David Bezmozgis. He also has a specialist qualification in Special Education.

Hi! I’m Sarah-I have a Masters degree in Education, working towards my Ph.D in Sociology-I am interactive, life long learner, and feel that it is imperative that students feel ’empowered’ to learn and want to learn more.

MEGHAN M.

A student-focused educator and life-long learner committed to creating a collaborative space that is stimulating, encouraging and adaptive to the varied needs of all students. With a devotion to equity and inclusion, Meghan believes in developing pedagogy that is culturally relevant and responsive to the strengths, experiences and interests of students so that they are reflected within the learning that is taking place. Meghan is Primary/Junior Certified and is an OCT certified teacher with the Toronto District School Board. Meghan has her specialist in special education and has been teaching with the school board for 4 years.

Sally M.

Sally Mastromonaco is an experienced educator of 25 years. With a specialization in English, Reading Strategies, and Special Education, she has dedicated her career to fostering a love of learning in students from SK to 12. She focuses on literacy and numeracy skills development in her tutoring practice. Sally’s journey in education began during her high school years in Amherstburg, ON, where she worked at the local library and discovered her deep affinity for teaching. This early experience fueled her desire to pursue a career in education. After completing her Master of Arts in English Literature, she moved to the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) to embark on her teaching journey. Known for her ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment, Sally prioritizes mutual respect and active student participation in her classrooms. She believes in empowering her students to become confident learners and critical thinkers. Beyond the classroom, Sally leads a fulfilling personal life as a proud soccer mother to her 16-year-old son. In her spare time, she enjoys practicing yoga, taking leisurely walks with her pug companion, Max, and enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the Muskoka region.

Hannah T

Hannah is a New York State Certified Special Education Teacher for Birth-Grade 2. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Vermont and has a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Special Education from Hunter College. Hannah has six years of teaching experience within both general and special education classrooms in New York City. Hannah has experience working with all types of learners, including students with autism, developmental delays, traumatic brain injuries, and dyslexia. Throughout her time as a special education teacher, Hannah has gained skills in individualizing and differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all students. She is highly skilled at modifying and creating supplemental learning materials to enhance learning and allow students to master and retain the concepts. Hannah believes in a multi-sensory and multi-modal approach to learning and incorporates explicit instruction, exploratory learning, tactile manipulatives, and kinesthetic movements into her lessons. Hannah is also trained in the Orton-Gillingham Approach to literacy instruction and Multi-Sensory Math. She approaches all her sessions with a growth mindset for all students to succeed. Hannah enjoys reading, travelling, knitting, and ice skating in her free time.

Samantha A

Samantha is an Ontario-certified teacher with qualifications in both primary and junior. She graduated with her Master of Teaching from the Ontario Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Ryerson University. She is a full-time teacher with the YRDSB, teaching a primary Special Education classroom. Samantha has five years of teaching experience and has worked with children in different capacities, such as camp counsellor and basketball coach. In addition, she has completed her Part 1, Part 2 and Specialist qualifications in Special Education. Samantha dreamed of being a teacher ever since she was a child and has a passion for differentiating her lessons to meet the needs of each student. She believes that each child is unique, and with the attentiveness of a caring educator, every student can reach the highest level of success. Samantha focuses on students’ strengths and interests to make learning meaningful and engaging. She has experience accommodating and modifying student needs daily and writing Individual Education Plans tailored to students’ strengths. Samantha is a devoted teacher who fosters the development of her students with compassion and understanding. In her spare time, Samantha enjoys spending time with her cat, exercising, being with family and friends, and playing basketball or golf. Samantha is excited to work 1-on-1 with your child to help foster their love of learning.
